It never ceases to amaze me the determination and skill you have to accomplish nearly anything mechanical. Like a real man with experience and knowledge can do nearly any task. Great job....Pete
Thank you Pete! That means a lot! I appreciate you watching the videos!
What a fine Addition to the fleet. Not to mention newer ones are an arm and a leg
That's a good deal an arm and a leg now a days they want your nuts too ouch
True! Thank you for watching!
We have pure sand in northern Michigan and love our lilac bushes.
It is probably already somewhere in the comments but you need to relocate the fuel pump much lower and closer to whatever the fitting on the tank is. That type of electric fuel pump is not designed to lift fuel that distance which is why you had such a hard time getting it to prime.
THIS! And you can prime it by pouring gas into the pump from the top.
Joe, when loading your skid park it directly over the axles of your trailer. It’ll stop your truck springs from squatting being over stressed or damaged. Your truck will handle better also with the load distributed evenly on the trailer. Great vid!
Cargo's center of gravity should be just very slightly forward of the *center-point between the trailer's axles. You're definitely right about getting it too far forward. Tough on trailer, truck, unexpected loss of steering control hitting a rough patch or dip in the road can make for bad day.
@@solanaceae2069 Baby steps.
Thank you for watching, and thank you for the suggestion! I appreciate it!
Nice change up show!
When you get new tires, have them put a blend of antifreeze and water in them and it’ll help a lot with the bounciness and it’ll make going up the hills a lot easier … if you decide to go with rubber tracks, they make a solid and or a semi solid tire to go with the tracks that would also help in the winter time for plowing your driveway .
Tracks will remove most of the bounciness by themselves
@@flhusa1 True tracks float on the surface better but there is a reason for rubber tire also
I love hard work...I can watch it all day 😉
Haha thanks man! I am glad that you enjoyed the video!
With a little TLC it will be a great machine for you and definitely help you out with lots of landscaping
It is a great machine! It is handy for so many things! Thank you for watching!
I'm not trying to sound like a preacher but you should get chains and binders when moving heavy equipment like the skid steer straps of a tendency to stretch and especially if you have to do an emergency stop. Just telling you for your own safety
Yes, many years ago I fought a ticket in court for the same thing. In ca. the law requires the chain binder to be the rachet type
Magnolia bushes grow well in sand and do pretty decently in colder climates.
Thank you for the suggestion! That is helpful!
❤Kind looks like a honey do list.
I hope all that hard work gets you a minty reward around the fire pit that's how it goes around my house its a give an take I give she takes 😮
I like how the hovercraft is just chilling in the field lol, time to fix it up brother
I can't find a starter for it
@@2vintage Can't you find somewhere that will get the starter motor rebuilt?
Yep, have it rebuilt. I had to for my old satoh tractor .
Well brother that’s the power of the comment section myself and others will see what’s up, maybe one of us will get lucky
Any starter and alternator shop should be able to get if fixed up
You should consider placing bottle jacks under the rear of the trailer when loading and unloading the machine.
A drop trailer jack works. Or make some pipe that slide into each other and a pin
@@bombardier3qtrlbpsi yes Something to keep the trailer from bending even a block of wood on each side
Or jack stands
Did you ever consider shutting up?
Thank you for the suggestion!
Word of advice. When drilling steel, slow speed heavy feed... push hard and use slow speed on drill. Start with a small drill bit and then step up and it will go faster than drilling with the end size first.
Also be careful digging around tge foundation. If the ground slopes towards your basement it can lead to water in the basement.. ask me how i know.. lol.
Looking good.
Yes correct my drill press is set to the slowest speed also your bits will not overheat as easy and make them last much longer.
Thank you for the suggestions! I appreciate it!
I am now retired and living in Santa Fe NM. In the early 1990's I was Vice President of Engineering of Monroe Truck Equipment in Monroe WI. It brought a smile to my face spotting the MTE sticker on your loader light....small world. That Vinnie sure has endless energy....and he is quick.
That is awesome! It sure is a small world! Vinnie truly does have endless energy! It is hard to keep up with him!
Might be time to upgrade that impact gun.
your a jack of all trades nice another gr8 video
Can't believe that thing fired up after sitting all winter.😎👍
I would recommend arborvitae for your rock beds. You can get small ones that only grow up to 36" in diameter. I have them in woodchip beds next to the concrete driveway, still thriving after five years.
Are those plated in sand?
I was thinking some Gardenis bushes too, but don't think they'd survive the wisconsin winters. Shame though, nothing smells as awesome.
there will be nothing left of the arborvitae with the high number of deer in your area
When u load and unload u should put a couple pieces of wood on the tail on both sides of the beaver tail trailer to fill the distance between the ground and frame of trailer. It don’t have to fit tight but just slid under between the trailer and ground so the trailer doesn’t go up in the front and your ramps won’t want to kick out either!!! Ther YA GO,…!!
So congrats,.. you learned something new today!!
yes, I agree!
Snowing now..... Goodbye warm weather.
Great video, entertaining (although limited Vinny time), and informative. IMHO someone needs a John Deere or New Holland (Racine WI?) tractor sponsorship. The joys of home ownership, more land = more projects. Conscious of water run-off
Thank you for watching! There is definitely more of Vinnie to come!
,,,JUST A BIT OF FINE TUNING NEEDED...LOL...GOOD ONE, KEEP SAFE..
fill them tires to about 60-80psi if they aren't to weather checked. That will help with the bouncing around. Looks good!
Skid steer tires are ONLY SUPPOSED to be inflated to 50 max . I run mine at 45.. Jerky could be lots of things but not tire pressure
Thank you for the suggestion!
Bud, you been on a battery spree lately! Dang near need to open your own Batteries+ franchise 😂
Haha I agree!
I’ve ran a bunch of skid steers and fixed one up on my channel, but I’m my opinion those smaller gas skid steers aren’t really good for much except for working on a farm scooping manure and stuff, they are just to twitchy and don’t have the weight like a bobcat or tracked skid loader
I agree
If u decide to sell that one get a diesel next time they are awhole lot smoother and look for a bobcat the older ones made by melrose and ingersoll are good
I love the landscaping/house projects when you put stuff to work that you fixed, please post an update would love to see this finished!
I will do that! Thank you for watching!
Don't apologise, your right this was just as fun as the normal videos.👍
Cut the fenders off and buy the steel treads for it. You will never get stuck. You can see them on Diesel Creek. Since you are a youtube you can probably contact Matt. I remember him saying the treads are $1500. Put those on and you will have a mini dozer.
Thank you for the suggestion!
Really nice place. Only the best for Mr. Vinny.
I suggest cactus or potatoes. Looks good
Looks great for the year
My back is crying watching this 😢
Full throttle on the skid. Stops bucking. Keep practicing. You’ll be fine. Juniper on the side.
Love the content brotha, when drilling into metal I've learned the slower you drill the better
yes that helps keep down over heating
Thank you for watching! I am glad that you enjoyed the video!
Nice change of pace video. Good job, got it humming and started landscaping the gardens at Chateau de Webb
🐶Vinny says "Let me help you fertilize"
6:54 an old loader on tires, a floor jack in the dirt holding it up, a trailer probably too small for it, and a freaking hovercraft all in the same shot. Love to see it lol
I think it is jerking when moving forward because either the hydraulic fluid is low or the filter is plugged. Those are the easiest to fix if the pump isn't bad. I would suggest steel treads that fit over the tires and in winter you will not get stuck. I think they will fit just fine the way your machine is right now.
Please treat it to some decent and identical tires, the different traction and threads will make it much more difficult to operate and could screw up the transmission
I'll be ordering new tires
I like this style video! Great work!
Thank you so much! I appreciate you watching! I am glad that you enjoyed the video!
Good job Mr. Patience perseverance progress :}
Thank you for watching! I like the nickname!😄
put some air in those tires and im thinking mayby some of that bounce will go away and higher rpm will get some of that jerking out of it,,,,great video,,,,
Great video 👍 . Out of All the U Tube channel's yours is by far my favorite. keep up the good work and be safe, can't wait for the next video, l work on the same things it's just nice to see others doing the same. 👍
Yes, I agree!
That truly means so much to me! Thank you for watching, and thank you for commenting! I appreciate it! I am glad that you enjoy the videos!
you cant run a skid steer half idle.. your supposed to run those machines full out or they dont run right.
Removing incandescent bulbs and retrofitting with led lights or new lights are a wise choice for any piece of equipment. Easier on battery and charging system and allows the addition of much more lighting . I prefer the 6K or higher light color. Nice addition looks good
Thank you! I appreciate it!
Babe get out of the house I broke the gas line 😁 nice work fella
yes, very quickly bend it over and wire it shut! if you take too long get away. I seen a whole block shut down over a cut 2" gas line
Your videos are always amazing. Keep up the good work
Thank you! That means a lot! I appreciate you watching the videos!
Hey man I did landscaping for years and there is no easy way to lay down a couple ton of blocks. You have the right idea with the skid steer but you also need a land leveling laser. Which will show you how much up or down you need to dig to give your bricks a level appearance. Sometimes I had to actually start below the grass line. FYI the largest block/paver I was involved with was 20 ton all hand work.
Thank you for the suggestions! I appreciate it!
Just a thought, I just bought a few different types of blueberries they hedge really nice and give you fruit. Not sure if they'd live through your brutal winter though. Edible shrubbery is an awesome thing to have.
I’ve used skid steers with wheels and tracks. The wheel’d ones are so bouncy and tippy, I hatred them. Tracks made it usable for me, at least yours doesn’t have foot controls.
You have a wonderful home and property and earned it. You have a nice family too dog and all living the great life you blessed and very lucky. It be cool if you started doing more landscaping videos this summer and working in the garden I be growing all kinds of fruits and veggies out there.
Thank you! Your kind words mean a lot! I appreciate you watching the video, and thank you for your thoughtful comment!
nice dog i miss my dog but that is life
I would put one or 2 butterfly bushes in there. They can get big but you could keep them trimmed. It attracts a lot of wildlife. Butterflys hummingbirds
I used to move equipment like this on a daily basis. You have way too much tongue weight there. You want the center of mass of the skid steer just forward of the front axle. That would be the back tire of the skid steer between the tires of the trailer and the front tire of the skid steer just in front of the trailer tires, if that makes sense.
Your house is amazing bud👌
I would have just cut the grass out and cut a bed edge instead of stone and add mulch because it holds the moisture for plants. The fabric will hold the grass and weeds off for a while but eventually they’ll poke through and you’ll be digging through fabric and stone to get them out. Also you could Barry the gutter down spout and connect a 4” pvc pipe to it
Glad to see this video wasn’t titled, “That time I took out my natural gas line with the skid steer.” 😊
Get a trail camera up watching the entrance to that property u got trespassers stealing your fuel
Joe just a heads up it looks like there was lug nuts behind those wheel studs and the rim wasn’t able to sit flush with the centering hub???? This might put more stress on the wheel studs just a heads up if you ever swap out all 4 tires for your own safety. Keep up the good work Joe.
watup vintage been watching for a few years
If you could get it running you could have curled bucket to lift it off ground and then put a rachet strap around tire to squeeze it and blow it up right on machine
That lil skid works well.
please fix the hovercraft :D
Trying to find a new starter for it
finally caught up, also love the editing it looks so good
Thank you so much! That means a lot! I appreciate you watching!
This Brand i never heard of but the Body and frame of the machine looks literally like a Erickson, Ford used them as well CL 20 - 40, or a CL340. Parts are common ish others hard to get. A lot of the older skid steers i.e 1970s used an oddball / rare tire size (nowadays) atleast. ours has 16.5 and are pricy!!!
Cool! Kinda like a Diesel Creek episode but more interesting.
that going look nice and you should use that dirt for your motocross track I can not wait to it going be beautiful
Great video!
The honey do list is important as well the women make a house look nice.
Really hope you gonna build a jump on your text track on new property and smoothen it all out before you sell it. Enjoy your vids alott. All the best. South africa
You can also get rubber tracks too.
While you have that machine at home, put a light on the back. You dont see it now, but it will come in handy if your plowing snow or trying to load on the trailer later in the evening. Take a moment and make a bracket for the other light. There will be that time you will say I wish I had a light on the back.
good video! Excited to see if we get more outdoor home improvement videos!
Thank you for watching! I appreciate it! I am glad that you enjoyed the video!
Dude u dont have to apologize for not having a bike or atv,...that was way cool to see you fix the skid steer man. How many people can say they've done that????
I wish you lived near me in Pennsylvania i have a kubota lawn tractor with a carb that has a froze up throttle lever on it. Ive tried blaster for 3 days straight and it wont touch it. Any advice man?
Joe ....go with some roses for that type of soil!! Mix with peat moss.
Great project, a break from atv and bikes
I my skid steer loader bouncing is cause from high traction and not using the hyd.. evenly during turning. try it on pavement and then in sand. you will see on pavement your turning needs to be much more precises. also are their stater rebuilding shops you can send the hovercraft starter to for rebuilding. Another simple idea is torch or drill a hole in. the bucket for a trailer ball. great job like always!
Yes I have tie wired about 12 gas line breaks in a 11 year backhoe business
Yes, the law requires hand digging around utilities underground, dig alert started in the late 1970 because of a large gas line mistake.!
Vinni'd probably have a great time chasing you around on that field you bought.
Bouncing like you experienced is always caused by too low of an operating rpm. Just like a tractor performs best at the rated pto speed. You use your gears and hydraulic valves to moderate speed, not by engine rpm.
straighten the bucket top and add / weld a piece of checker plate to avoid your feet from slipping, when getting in and out
Bruh knows how to fix every damn thing!
Just install a tube and send em’ out to get foam filled!! They have to set overnight (24hrs) laying flat on a pallet to cure in 70 degrees at your local tire place. Just call around to a tire service place that does foam fill in house. The tires look like good tread. The 7.50-15 is common for that. The plus to foam fill the tires the skid steer will get better traction because once all tires are filled they will be ALOT HEAVIER! Those bigger lug nuts you got are for foam filled tires because the are much larger “acorn style” lug nut to increase more contact in secureing the clamping force wheel to axle hub so they don’t crack the center out because most of those little skidders come w/a little acorn nut like a car and those provide less clamping contact and because of the side force when turning a skid steer and the weight will crack the centers. To b honest those wheels I see have 10 holes so u could be a universal wheel that fits two different lug style or it gives u a second chance in case u do tear up one set of wheel stud holes . GOOD LUCK!
Yes, but the may be too high for that machine at least 400.00 each
@@scottanderson7160 a 7.50-15=110lbs and most everyone pricing for foam is $2.50per lb. Now if u buy a new tube and pay somebody to dismount the tire, install new tube, mount tire and then fill it, that will be close to ur $400 comment but if the rest hold air they can fill those w/no extra charge
With the sandy soil, besides the arborvitae I believe you're limited to those decorative tall grasses and ur ferns.
enjoyed this video
2 vintage I got a question for you my 1989 polaris trail boss 250 is hard to start the only way it will start if I put my hand over the carb bought new carb and tried two used ones it has newer top end so compression shouldn't be a problem it runs great after it's running just super hard to start can't figure it out any help is appreciated
I just noticed that you can’t add different attachments to it the machine. Paint it and sell it. Step up to one with more capabilities. You can afford it.
2vintage, i didn't see u check the Hyd fluid, yes i agree, put the fuel pump down near the tank..
Run it at a higher engine speed and fit a set of proper skid steer matched tyres and it will most likely behave better.
Yes, tires should be the same height most skid steer loaders have drive chains, on hard surface the two axles are trying to turn a different speeds on one side of the machine, that can cause a chain to stretch. I had to replace one chain on mine because of that
Take the lova rock out and use broken tempered glass .
Way more modern looking .
Get a camp cooking rack and kit and cook something good out on the patio fire .
It would be cool if you could trade up to a more modern skid steer, something with pilot controls. You would be way happier and more productive.
Your priorities Really out of wack lol I would be building a full size mx track on that land. when that was done in the fall maybe some landscaping bs for the wife
It you have sand make sure you dig big hole for bushes and put in peat moss and anything that holds moisture for bush
skid steer jerkyness may actually be loose steering pintle bushings and or worn pintle blocks. it will progressively get worse until running the machine will be like riding a bucking bronco
If you get it running first. Then you can put the bucket down in the tires will come up. So you can pull the tires off
Need forks for Skidsteer. Then put everything on pallets and move everything easier for sure
Yes, fork are nice to have!
Good vid change from the same ol
Great video. Need more like this one. Nice to watch one that isn’t just about working on bikes and atvs. Great job
I just bought a hammerhead gts 150cc and it’s been sitting for about a year I drained the oil had water in it filled it up with fresh oil and it turns over but I found some rust in the top end where the carb goes what should I do?
