People have issues with distortion because: -As killer you don't get aura reading value -Survivors with it will never take chase for you, they're encouraged to stay hidden and never start an interaction with the kiler, who in turn will find people that they already have chased, leading to basically tunneling
It also leads to more unfun or the same killer builds (pop pain res grim) every match since using a aura read perk could be a waste of a perk slot when you could bring slowdown instead
People do not take chase after unhooking _without_ Distortion so this is a skill issue not a perk issue. If you go to unhook someone and you have no hooks and the person you have unhooked has been hooked, it is YOUR job to take chase. If you can't handle being chased then get gud.
@@hewmanbeing Windows was good but the change made the perk easier to use. Rn the perk is no brainer. I think the cooldown should come back, but after the pallet drop so bad survivals cant just predrop every pallet until there is nothing theit teammates (me) can loop. It may not seem like it but seeing the auras outside of chase is really good as well. Each time im on gen im "scanning" my surroundings to see where can i run and even let go of the gen to check if there is a close fillar pallet. With windows i dont have to do that.
@@tomasp4653 fair points but the game is just too fast paced nowadays to spend time looking for nearby pallets before working on a gen, (this was what I used to do years ago when survivor was afforded that luxury of time) I get that killer is playing a race against the clock too but we’re talking about survivor so that’s why I mentioned it on the survivor side of things. I can still do well in chase without the perk but it does at least stop me running into dead zones and having the most fun part of the game, the chase, be over in seconds because I didn’t know that there wasn’t a single pallet in a 32 metre radius 😂 especially since I play solo queue, the information is just so useful!!
Hello. Just wanted to clarify that i didnt mention the perk because Azhymovs has already covered it in a similar video of his. I didnt cover other perks live deja vu, off the record etc. for the same reason
The original Dead Man's Switch is also worth mentioning Which worked similary to the current version, but activated only after hooking an obsession. It was a very niche perk, that could be only used 3 times throughout the match without a specific obsession build.
The reason people find distortion so annoying is that it counters like a total of 100+ addons and perks combined and is essentially infinite, I think it would be way healthier if it only regenerated tokens for time in chase rather than just hiding in the killers terror radius
i swear it feels so embarassing to make those mistakes 😭 i even double checked to make sure there weren't any editing issues and i still messed up thanks for the kind words though :)
@@lapisinfernalis9052it’s not bad design. It’s a perk that does what it’s intended to do: counter aura reading. We could just make it so that it’s constant and not token-based, would you like that? I mean that is what killers get with Lightborn, and they also get a bonus effect with the blind immunity.
Buckle Up + For the People was not even close to op lol. It was valuable for slugging, which is something survivors have very few counters for. And I’m not just talking slugging as in just leaving them on the ground to go after other survivors, but proxy camping the body.
Right, if I’m injured I’m not going to risk picking up a slugged teammate who is being proxy camped. Maybe if I haven’t been hooked yet it would be worth it to get them away, but otherwise it’s just suicide.
The problem with Distortion is, that you get stealth for being stealthy. I see it quite often, that those who have Distortion are not hooked at all while those who don't are usually on death hook. If regaining tokens was coupled to the chase time (i.e. every 20s you spend in chase you get a token), then people would have to interact with the killer to get some stealth in return.
@@WLP_edits how was it only good on m1 killers? How would it not be useful on killers like hag, twins, pinhead, etc? It was more useful on them yes because most “m1 killers” are generally mid, but the perk was universally good. The only reason you wouldn’t bring it (besides liking other meta perks more) is if you were someone like nurse or ghost face who didn’t really need it cause of how their powers and special attacks work.
@@ricksanchez6766 my point was it doesn’t really help more really high tier killer there’s only a few killers it was actually really powerful on everybody else either didn’t get use of it or was on the weaker side of killers
Funfact: Sloppy get his most popularity after medkit change and coh nerf 6.7
I feel like the popularity of Grim Embrace was definitely also boosted because of the anti-3 gen mechanic being introduced around the same time
Nice video dude

then comes legion and cafeine pills and the speed addon or the broken and no terror radius addon

I’ve had survivors with distortion hide al trial and didn’t do gens
I hope no one forgot OG windows of opportunity having a cooldown after vaulting a window
I thought I'd see at least a mention :(
Why are you sad about that, it wasnt that big of a deal
@@DontCallMeGaga.04what do you mean it wasn’t that big of a deal? Windows went from a perk that no one used to a perk that everyone used.

Got mega value from alert in chaos shuffle. Being able to see what direction they're going.
Until they turn around lol

You should do a video about healing
Amazing video (totally not biased)
Where was deja vu
What is that background music? It sounds like crosstown traffic.
yes, its a remix of crosstown traffic :)
These original perks sound awesome. Modern survivors just want to bully the killer. It's ridiculous.

Distortion as it is must be protected at all costs!
Nah it def needs a nerf but something slight it shouldn’t be dead again like in the past.
it only needs to regen tokens during chase and it's fine. Getting more stealth while being stealthy is bad design.
@@lapisinfernalis9052 you know what, that’s not a bad idea to force chase to regain the perk.

Windows of opportunity?
People hate distortion because it denies free hits from perks that let you see survivors when you kick a gen lol
i use this perk costumization too, so pretty

no king
Distortion should be when seen for awhile you get tokens, get seen to he able to hide
Ok, but Lightborn should be token based too and you only accumulate more when chasing survivors for a certain length of time.
Forgot to mention old Grim Embrace wouldnt gain a stack from someones DC before disconnect bots, making the perk suddenly dead and unusable 😖😖😖😖

i think its stupid nerfing Buckle Up its not like you see it in every game but from time to time so theres no reason to nerf it
