I feel like +1 counters shouldn’t cancel out -1 counters. like 2 +1 and a -1 is still a net gain of +1 but I think the -1 should still be there. I understand wotc doesn’t do it that way because it would be very confusing to keep track of but it’s not any more confusing than the rest of the game. For instance if I have a card that gives a flying counter to a creature(such as cycling avian odyssey) and then I equip colossus hammer to that creature , if it worked the same way as +1/-1 counters you would think it might lose the flying counter but it actually still retains the flying counter, it just loses the flying ability as a “replacement effect” but the counter itself is still there. Commander is convoluted for no reason other than wotc doesn’t want to actually have to sit down and make a balanced game.

Unless it's on Larry for not waiting for priority and should have cast his commander and asked for responses, then when Moritte enters it's a mind's dilation so destroying the original wouldn't do anything unless it was destroyed while Moritte was on the stack before a it entered and picked a permanent
Doesnt Zoyowa only give u the option to choose to discard or sacrifice a permanente (U have u choose one). And if u cant discard (u picked discard) or cant sacrifice a permanente (u picked sac) . THEN U LOOSE 3 life as a consequence , the pay 3 life isnt a choice.
Am I misreading lava tounge? I don’t think they get an option to take the damage instead of discarding or sac a permanent. Since the ability says that his opponent have to discard or sac a permanent (period) then any opponent who did neither takes the damage
I have a super dumb MTG question..why doesn’t damage go through to the defending player if you block with a creature and then in response to something mid-combat sacrifice it? Wouldn’t the stack mean the sacrifice happens prior to damage meaning when damage would be assigned the blocking creature is already gone? Like, in other instances with layered counterspells if the stack resolving eliminates a target for a spell, it fizzles. So, removing a blocker should work the same way…right?
Not quite like that. Once a creature has been declared as blocking an attacker that block will absorb all the damage UNLESS that creature has/gains trample prior to damage. You'd want to clear out potential blockers before they are declared; Akroma's Will for instance should be cast before blockers are declared if the goal is to alpha strike.
Being blocked is basically a "state" something can have, and it's applied as soon as blocks are declared. After a creature has been blocked, it doesn't matter if the creature goes away - the attacker was still blocked and, unless the attacker has trample, will attempt to deal its damage to anything blocking it. In a way, you could consider it to be that you're fizzling the damage - the blocking creature became the "target" for that damage, and once the creature is gone the damage just goes poof. This is actually a pretty common way of turning chump blocks into value in sacrifice-heavy decks. Sacrificing a chump blocker to fuel something like Village Rites both blanks the attack and profits off the death. For extra fun, there's an old and bad card from OG Kamigawa called Curtain of Light. It says "Target attacking unblocked creature becomes blocked. Draw a card." Imagine the value!
No dumb questions btw. Magic is a very complex game and they're only adding more complexity with each release nowadays, and Commander is arguably the highest mental load format there is.
Naive question... Since woodfall primus ability "destroy target noncreature permanent" is not a may, would Larry have to end up destroying blasting station?
Not naive at all, the combo relies on ordering triggers onto the stack and maintaining priority once all the triggers except "destroy target non creature permanent " have resolved. You continue executing the loop while never actually resolving any of the "destroy" triggers. It works a bit like isochron Scepter + dramatic Reversal + sol ring + sensei's divining top; where you activate the top to draw a card, hold priority and activate Scepter, let Scepter resolve untapping all non lands, hold priority and activate top again (giving you 2 draw triggers now on the stack) . You never resolve any of the draw triggers until you have enough on the stack to draw your whole library.
No since he does everything on the stack, targeting allways the same land to get blown up in the end he keeps his stuff and pings everybody with blasting station. So in response of the trigger he sacs morite again, what puts the new etb triggers and untapping blasting station on top of the old trigger of blowing up a land. That way everybody else dies and he wins before the first land is blown up actually...

If someone is holding a rift, or a wipe, and you offer not to attack them, thats a dumb play. You attack that player hard and make them use it. Having them sit there for a turn cycle and still have a threat in hand is not doing anything.
Countering the Cyclonic Rift was such a bad play by Ray. It was cool, but bad. Same with Lynch and the Trickery countering the Wrath. The Wrath would have helped-ish.

nah the kabuto says it cant be the target of spells or abilitys and balen doesn't target. if balen said attach all equipment to target creature then you would be correct.
is there a reason they didnt take commander damage from lynch's commander? it says he deals the damage so all the 3 pings shouldve been commander damage
Lighting brotha - I feel like when its pointing to the right its bright then the left is darker and the OVER head is so " HIGH CONTRAST - lower the contrast; even out the studio lighting; and ya dont need to go so high on the "Saturation" the color grading doesnt make it look to good to be honest; it sjust constructive critisim.

I just finish my zoyowa Deck for 80$. Very easy to trigger the descend effect and it can be a 5 to 7 damage every time it triggers 😂 very very fun.

Balan's ability doesn't target, so it goes around shroud

If I'm not wrong commander damage it's only counted on combat damage
commander damage is combat damage only
Commander damage is for combat damage only.
commander dmg is only through combat, turn him sideways.
Commander damage only applies to combat damage by that specific commander.
