I think this is a rather poor way to do these “polls” because when people are in public, they tend to suppress their opinions partially, not to mention peer pressure. What happens is when a large group of people go to one side, even people who don’t necessarily agree will go their too in order not to stick out of the group.
There’s a strong case that political pressure is actually healthy as much as it is the overall goal. To be able to make that choice vs to be stuck in your ways. I find its fairly appropriate for that pressure, with additional space to reflect and such

Absolutely. It honestly shows a bias (or lack of forethought) from the creators of the video.
The video seems to imply that *other* polls are somehow getting things wrong and when you just get people in a room together, they'll naturally agree with the pollmakers leading questions.
When we vote for officials we vote anonymously.

I'm going to disagree and agree simultaneously. If we look at it as not taking anything away from other polling, but rather about how people behave when dealing with each other in a community setting, it's fascinating. It also points toward the question of "what is truth?" Truth, alone, typing on RUclips, as I'm doing right now is an extension of my thought process. However, when I go to work or to a town meeting or a coffee shop to chat with friends, I am listening and behaving communally. My truth changes to fit the circumstances.
Ron Gavalik I’d argue people tend to have one truth and then manipulate or suppress it based on their setting, but I’m no expert on human behavior so Idk.
I honestly agree with one of the comments I saw here. The idea of someone not wanting me in this country is totally different than actually seeing it. My heart dropped. I had no influence on where I was born, my future should not be decided by chance.

@@ChewCement I am more than welcoming of immigrants, but they can't just get a free ride. If I moved to another country, say Germany, I would come legally, learn and speak German, learn the history, and pay taxes. I wouldn't forget my heritage, but I would become part of my new home! That is a completely reasonable thing to ask anyone coming into any new country, and for those that follow the process to become American it makes me very happy to see how much more opportunity and freedom they have.

Those two weren't the only questions asked. For one thing, I was surprised to see how many people did and did not think children of illegal immigrants should be deported. The college degree question also surprised me, because I expected it to be heavily Democratic on one side and Republican on the other (but I didn't know which would go where.) I'd also thought the Donald Trump question would be split 50/50.
+DaSpooge My take away is that the Republicans in this group tend to be more moderate and judging each issue independently. The Democrats on the other hand are much more unanimous in their opinions on the issues. Big picture, makes you wonder if Republicans are more partisan on issues than Democrats and also makes me reconsider who is stonewalling who in Congress? Media makes us think the Republicans are the party of No but this microcosm shows that Republicans are more willing to have varied opinions on typically party lined issues. Just food for thought.

Oh wow, I didn't notice that. Hm, perhaps the reason for this is that they all live in a largely Democratic state (I suspect they are all from the Los Angeles area, but I can't be sure.) I think it'd probably be interesting if this were done in different regions, just to see how the results are affected.

An unborn baby is still a life that is being taken BUT a woman should have the right to terminate something that is inside of her own body. @@youtubeyt5694 I, and I think a lot of Dems, don't consider abortion to be murdering babies, or any real form of life until some stage in the pregnancy. Furthermore, for me it's more about whether or not the government has the right to force someone to complete a pregnancy, and I think that's a slippery slope. So even if you do or don't think that abortion is actually murder, the other question is whether or not you think the government should have the power to tell women what to do with their bodies. It's not as black and white as "Democrats support murder" as right wing propaganda makes it seem.
To your point McFreezy, I think if we get off the computer and go outside the world is a better place. We see hundreds of people each day one way or another, and many of them have differing political viewpoints. Granted we don't know, ask, or care, but we seem to get along and not fight at every intersection, grocery store, post office etc. It's nowhere near the impending Civil War that seems to be headed our way if you look at any political comments section.

I don't think the system of voting is bad in the US, but it definitely needs a little bit more refining, it's so that big cities don't decide who's president, so that states with low population actually have a say.
I think what's bad though is that you can't have 2 electoral votes for X president, and 1 electoral vote for Y president from the same state, so winning by barely 1% really makes a lot of impact.

I do think the college degree question isn't exactly a good question in this case, because a lot of these participants looked to be very young, many of whom are probably in college. I would be better to ask something like "for those 25 and older, do you have a college degree" or something like that in order to really make some conclusions about the data.

Right now Us leads the world in carbon reduction, and green energy technology. I’m a libertarian leaning republican. I believe in climate change, I 100% disagree with the solutions being offered. The idea that carbon taxes are going to stop global warming is nonsense and laughable. The same way that taxing people was supposed to prevent poverty. Being a California resident I’m taxed 3x more then the rest of the country and california leads the nation in poverty due to cost of living and 40% of all welfare spending goes to california..
Secondly if I said we can go 100% carbon free. You’d probably like that... until I said nuclear energy will get us there. It emits zero carbon. And there is new technology that uses less water and uses waste. But nobody preaching climate change is willing to do it because they believe it’s evil. So we’ll never be 100% zero emissions we’ll have to keep burning dirty fossil fuel because no way can solar, wind and hydro produce 1/4 of the amount needs to power the US needs to just keep lights on

Of course the climate is changing, it is always changing! Glaciers once covered most of north America! The Sahara desert was once a wet jungle like the Amazon! Climate is ALWAYS changing! People just have not been here long enough, and have very short life spans and very short memory.
It's a bad question because climate change objectively naturally occurs, but the debate is over how much man is affecting it.

The climate is changing incredibly quickly and to ignore this is dangerous, like not vaccinating your children. Climate change will lead to (at current rates) rapid human extinction. Google some graphs for global temperature change and emission s it's really enlightening trust me.

My grandparents worked their asses off to come to this country legally from Spain. How is it fair that ILLEGAL people who have children on American soil stay legally? We have our own homeless citizens here in America, help them before anchor babies. Deport the whole family so they won't be separated.
