So happy that Big Papi is in the Hall of Fame. He richly deserves it not only for his actions on the field but for all the goodwill he has brought Boston off the field. Thanks also to Pedro who spoke up and helped make the Red Sox stronger by encouraging the signing of David Ortiz.
Very happy for him. He brought us joy and proud. He help a lot to grow the Red Sox Fan Base all over the world. A show man, a great player, a Legend. In sum, a Hall of Fame!!!
I cried the first time I saw this, I'm from PA & I grew up a Jim Rice & Mike Greenwell fan. I grew up feeling the heartbreak as a Sox fan. I saw Fenway in 1992 as a 12 yr old little league outfielder & lead off hitter of a terrible team, but we were scrapy & fought hard & that's the Sox way! I'll never forget the Yankee series in '04 , especially after Aaron Boone in '03 & my brother telling me I don't understand why your a Sox fan (which led 2 a brotherly scrap). David you are my favorite player of all time, in my mind the greatest Sox player of all time, greatest clutch post season hitter ever 2 play the game!! There are so many great Sox legends but none of them delivered like you did. I congratulate you and am so grateful for your health & happiness after all you have been through. The greatest thing of all is how you played the game & I watch your character threw the years & I truly believe you are a amazing human being. I know that in my life you have helped me be a better person by trying 2 emulate the good human being I saw respecting & believing in not just yourself but all you came in contact with. I will definitely be trying 2 make my first trip 2 Cooperstown 2 see the jersey of my hero David Ortiz, thank you Big Papi, your special!!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!. BIG PAPI, FROM BIG MAMA!!. DOMINICANO, 'HASTA LA TAMBORA' !!!. I was there in 2021. Next visit with my wife (big mama) in 2022. ❤😇🙏🇺🇸🇩🇴🇨🇦❤
@@notoriouseagle1074 The shift is way more recent than that. Infield shifts became commonplace in 2008 when the Rays used it and carried themselves to their first pennant. None of the players you mentioned, except Griffey (who was in his twilight years), were playing then. Not to mention, Pete Rose was a switch hitter.

I named my beautiful cat after Big Papi! ❤
Imagine your batting average if there was NO shift.
Imagine every left handed hitter without the shift. Williams, Jackson, Bonds, Griffey, Rose, etc
Imagine your power numbers without hitting the needle
Imagine Clown Craig above not having a actual life
