Dear Mr David Ortiz thank you sincerely for sharing your self and your gifts with us. My dad waited from 1923 until 2003 and was buried with his Red Sox cap. I inherited my love of Red Sox baseball from him. God bless you and your family.

I honestly love that Derek Jeter and David Ortiz had their numbers retired in the same year.

I watched 2 hockey jersey retirement ceremonies for my favorite hockey team, I watched the great Marty Brodeur's jersey get raised and my favorite forward in NHL history but never watched a Red Sox jersey retirement. I always wanted to see David 1 last time after that rainy cold day in 2013. but we never gotten to see him play, but I did watch him play. that massive grand slam in Game 2 of the 2013 ALCS was awesome

NEVER FORGET! It was Pedro who first discovered him after he was cut by the Minnesota Twins and it was Pedro who told the Red Sox to bring him here.

He watches his home runs, flicks hit bat, runs the HR bases slowly to show up the pitcher. He uses the F-word in front of children, how's that?
