So upgrades: 1) Carburator replace (make/model?) 2) Deleted airbox and replace with high flow air filter. 3) Replace front sprocket for more low end torque from 15 to 14 tooth and reducing top speed from 55-60 range. I am a road rider looking for a cheap ride years after my SV650. I am older and not interested in speeds way above the legal limit. I am, however, interested in being able to ride the highway for short stints. "In my ol' head" I thought of.....#1 and #2 above. As far as #3 go the opposite way from 15 to 16. Then I would add a #4 - Upgraded exhaust with possible jetting if available? and #5 - Cheap Shinko Road tires which improves on road contact resistance therefore improving top speed a bit. May I could get 65 to 70 MPH? What you guys think? Of course, add front and rear cheap/light led turn signals and a little led front headlight, have it titled in some other "easy" state. I saw the X-Pro Templar X250 is about 35-40 lbs less but instead of 13 hp like the Hawk, it actually has 9 hp!
@@pnwvibe3123Probably better you sold it. One day your a close to 30 juvenile delinquent terrorizing the neighborhood on your minibike, tomorrow your knockin' over banks with a BB gun 😂! Looked like you were havin' alot of fun though, I think I wanna get one

Your better off buying a used Japanese bike like a honda or Yamaha for the same or less money than dealing with a p.o.s. Chinese bike. Right out the gate you had to replace the p.o.s. carb that came with the Chinese bike. You will be very lucky of that Chinese bike last you another 8 months. A Honda will last 20 years
My 2006 Lifan GY 5 200cc is doing just fine in 2024 I will be riding it as I have every summer. Has required tires, batteries, oil changes and valve adjustments. It is street legal and has served me well. Trails back and forth to work. Very rural gravel roads on a Sunday morning just getting out in the fresh air. Lifan makes very good bikes.
@michaelcollier6268 I weigh 175-180 😭 I don’t remember what I said in the video and I don’t have the bike anymore but I’m pretty sure that thing did close to 50+
Same motor as the viper i like them cuz the seats are nice like a moto cross bike, other ones are way too thin

So did you ever find the carb and air filter that works?
Do you have a link for where you bought your sprocket
Quick question. So what exact carburetor did you grab along with air filter
same question
It was a mikuni 27 or 30mm. Sold the bike wish I could look at it and tell you for sure. But 100% was a mikuni

I got the same bike but mine says viper
Can I buy a set plastic cover of it?
What would happen if i didn't change anything for the time being?
Is the Hawk 150 a street legal bike? Can it be registered and plated for commuting on public roads as shipped?
Depends on your state but yes
I would NEVER buy a bike from Amazon. Their shipping charge is ridiculous.
Whats the seat height can someone 5-6 ride it ?
I’m 5’8” ish and had plenty of clearance
How much do you weigh
170
@@pnwvibe3123 a weigh 200lb and i wonder if a 150 can put up with me

Real similar to that 27 or 30mm at that price I’d just grab both and play around with which one works better.

Bought new local for 1650.00 OTD.
A carb cost less than $30. This bike could last 20 years.
Top speed?
Mine is around 30 😭

@michaelcollier6268 no it was a decent little bike.
