I am a retired crane operator. I ran a 597 plus other small draglines for 38 years. I also did a lot of hook work in various machines. I started learning friction machines, then when the juice squeezers came into play it took all the fun out of it for me. To operate a friction machine takes lot of skill and tallent. You have good skills my friend. Hearing that slobering 4-71 fire up is a very familiar sound to me. If you are not using ear protection I suggest you do. I ran many machines with a Detroit in them. my ears have been ringing for decades.
