I absolutely love Hawaii and the Pride of America is the perfect compliment to this beautiful state. There may be bigger, more luxurious cruise ships but the POA and Hawaii are a perfect combination!
I can't believe I was on this ship in 2009 and got to see Hawaii what a great experience that was
I went on this boat in January 2018 and I loved it the food was great the staff were very friendly and I remembered the cleaner who stood at the entrance of the buffet holding hand sanitizer who when you walked in or out would say washy washy anyway Hawaii was awesome and the boat was amazing I’m from Australia Victoria
Beautiful ship with a nicely done patriotic theme, I like it.
This will be my first time on this ship next year so I'm pretty excited to check it out
Went on the ship April 2019 stayed on the thirteenth floor family suite, was so fun miss it alot
I'm going on this cruise on Saturday, so excited after watching this video!
So glad the video helped to get you even more excited about your cruise! Have a blast!
Cadillac Diner was my favorite! Potato wedges for days!!
It was our favorite too, I absolutely lived that it was open for 24 hours. The only thing is when we got on the cruise my fiance said about trying it out but we didn't think it was complimentary, so we only gongs it was our third to last day in the ship. Which wasn't bad cause at least we got to enjoy it for our last three days.
Thank you for the nice video. I took this cruise in 2015. I'm going again next year.
Thats a lot of coin unless you live in Hawaii or on the west coast... Im going for the first time in December. 5 days on land, 5 on the boat. My parents were on the SS Independence, a liner built in the 50s, now scrapped.
I went last November and had a blast and I'm also ready to go back.
This was my first cruise and I enjoyed it very much! There was a dj on the boat and he was playing shine good music. We did a Michael Jackson trivia and I had a blast even when I started doing the thriller dance lol.
I'm going on this ship to Hawaii soon.
Juliet Preston. us too!
I went last year in November, and I'm from PA. You guys are going to have a great time, I'm ready to go back already!
Welcome always. Mahalo and aloha!
I watch this at least once a month, I’ve been on her 5 times already and can’t get enough. I’m surprised you left out a shot of their wonderful gym. Next voyage coming soon 🌴 Aloha PS , was that a private cruise as I’ve never seen it that sparsely populated 🤔 ?
Waikiki Walt, I agree. I was just on the ship two weeks ago and even during the day when people get off it still isn’t that quite.
JRoss 0621 Aloha, I was totally blown away at how vacant it was . But it’s the best way for someone to visit the islands w/o all the check in check out hassles of hotels and air flight. I live in Waikiki so it’s convenient for me when my funds allow it. If I win the Publishers Clearing I’ll most likely live on board 😂😂 🤙
Got this one booked for 2019
donarail00 lol
At donarail00
Come say hello to me...my name Ferdinand
Im a waiter on board the ship.
Waiting foe your arrival. ..Aloha!!!
Ferdinand Quiled ill be there in july of this year
Me too
That is a good looking ship
super expensive (like 6000 for a balcony room), but nice Merican ship in a cool state
Thank you for the video! I embark in 29 days
We went on this ship and it was fantastic
Is that a balcony stateroom?
I'm going on this ship over the 4th of July 2018
Us too can't wait!
It was fun
Was the seas rough?
Higher swells in the winter, rough is a perception based on past experiences. If you have only sailed in the plate glass seas of the Caribbean then it may feel rough depending on the weather, tides, and currents . Weather is unfortunately not controlled by the cruise lines, some holy folk left that up to someone else.
Was the ship empty? We are thinking of going on this ship next summer...where is everyone?
They probably have gone ashore. When they dock overnight in Maui or Kauai, it's usually pretty quiet aboard the ship! Many guests book excursions on those days when the ship is docked.
I went last year in November and when we docked in Maui, we went and got a rental so that we could see Maui. We did shopping for our family there and then later that night went to the most amazing luau!!
We were ported in Maui for two days so wee got off the ship, got the rental went sight seeing, shopping then the luau and got back on the ship.
olyisia thomas how was the weather when you went in November?? Did it rain a lot would you recommend around that time to go?
The whole point of the ship is to get off in the ports. Not much to do on the ship while alongside.
the only US flagged cruise ship
Can the beds be separated in the Balcony Cabin?
Yes , I've done that with my partner , it's still roomy ( sort of ) !!
music sounds annoying. very cheesy. but nice ports. might consider it, only for the prices and ports of call
Ugh. you got the balcony room... i got a interior :( hope theres no storms or i might pack an attitude indiciator.
If you love chairs this is the video for you
art schwartz- What's the problem? Cruise ships have lots of chairs/seating just about everywhere on the ship. Always gotta be at least one asshole comment or it just would not be a RUclips video. I need to stop reading the comments.
This ship looks nice enough but no Casino on board so it’s a pass for me
Talk to the gov. of Hawaii about that- ship was designed for one to be put in as soon as Hawaii legalizes gambling, but as yet they can't.
Ghost ship.. where is all the people?
Do they pay their employees well?
They're treating their employees as crap..15hours of work..can't eat on time and no medical assistance
Assuming nothing has changed since I worked on it shortly after it's voyage over from Germany, it's one of the very few if any US flagged Cruise Ships left, therefore they need to abide by US Labor laws. US flagged ships require certain amounts of the crew to be US Citizens and others to be able to obtain green cards...When it comes to pay they also need to follow various minimum wage laws excluding the service industry standards (at my time $2.13 an hour as a server +tips). Your server very well may be your evacuation coordinator for you deck, a firefighter or life boat crew (all of which they are trained to the same standards of any Merchant Marine). Overtime was also factored in as well as the gratuity fee towards your paycheck. It was common to have weeks of 75+ hours paid time plus automatic gratuity plus cash tips from the people you took care of very well. As long has the crew member knew what they were signing up for the pay was great (no rent, food bills, utilities)
It's ok- not as good as box boats but better than car carriers. Many of the crew live in Hawaii and get to go home every week for a few hours while the ship is in port. Others are there for a free stay in Hawaii as most of us are able to get out a few hours in most ports.
I also hope that they will treat their employees like human. Lucky to those employees not assigned on production and on those exclusive fine dine restaurants but to those who's assigned on production can't even eat on time and needs to work 15hrs 24/7...i dont see it worthy of pay.
This ship looks too basic 🤦🏾🤦🏾 nothing luxurious about it
