This is one of the best videos of the Pride of America that I've seen. I worked on this ship for 2 years and I had a great time when I was there. At the beginning of this video, I saw a coworker going out to enjoy Honolulu for a few hours. :-)
Do you have any advice for first-timers on this ship? My son and his wife are going in a couple of weeks. Not sure how it all works. Is there free food and drinks of any kind or do you have to buy a package deal?

Arrive early and be prepared to wait in lines. Bring a handheld or cell phone video game to play while you wait to get in.

It will be fun and amazing. Pack light cause you have to carry it all yourself. You might be able to have a porter carry or wheel bags in but probably youll have to carry or wheel it yourself.

We did this cruise for our honeymoon pre-covid. I will say its a good way to get a very small taste of each island so you can prioritize islands for future trips. As others have commented, it should be viewed simply as a hotel allowing you to spend the entirety of each day on the islands. The only problem is that your hotel always seems to be in a seedy part of town...having to spend valuable time traveling considerable distances away from the unsightly ports. The food was lousy. We quickly learned that we'd need to pay up and visit local restaurants on the islands for good fresh food. Best part of the trip was 2 days in Kauai. We rented a car and only returned to the ship to sleep. We plan to go back, do 2 islands instead of 4 and will definitely not be cruising.
What was your favorite 2 islands?

I'm so tired of staying home during the Coronavirus. We went on this cruise back in December 2019. It was wonderful. Now I'm sitting here watching videos of it and planning my next cruise but it might not be till 2022!!?
Our last cruise was in December 2019, too. It was to Mexico. It was our first time ever!! It was so much fun. I'm looking forward to getting back out there... hopefully, we will cruise to Hawaii next. Be well and stay safe.🤗❤️

My wife and I and our best friends couple are avid social and ballroom dancers...are there disco-club/ballroom dancing in the ship?
There is a disco/nightclub on board.
So lots of restaurants and bars with a theater...anything else to do ?

Think of this as more of a floating hotel to be on in the evenings. You get off during the day so you just aren’t on it very much.
Yeah, visit the islands
The cruise is great but the ship is...oh....how to say it...."tired"...plus they didn't have the unlimited beverage package or casino...I know why...just thought people might want to know ahead of time.

I've work for Norwegian Cruise Line on pride of America pride of Aloha and pride of Hawaii the worst job somebody can ever get unless you have nobody in your life then they'll be the perfect job for you you slaver Life Away 7 days a week with no days off working 12-hour shift not a life

Then don’t work on it. Nobody forced you. Otherwise shut up and serve me, I paid for good service
What did you do for work on it? Considering a bartender position on it from the sounds I could make like 15k plus tips in 6 monthes

The ship is so rusty now lol. The ship is parked in waikiki. Its been more than months already since the quarantine starts.
Its any amazing video but the fine this ship to be unappealing. Just seems so old fashioned 🤷🏾♂️
