Going on PoA in Aug for our 25th anniversary - so excited! TY so much for your vlogs! I have already changed some plans so we can do some stuff you did on Oahu!
Finally one of our favorite bloggers experiencing and sharing the Pride Of America out of Hawaii, we'll be crusing her in May of 2024, so keep the material coming, you guys are one of the best
Me and my mom have a cruise there scheduled for August 2023. We were planning on doing it this year, but then the omicron variant started popping up at the time so we pushed it back to 23. Hopefully nothing happens between now and then, but if it does we at least have full coverage to get our money back 😅.
Looks like I missed a lot the first night of the cruise. We had a 5 hour layover in Houston. When we finally got into Honolulu we got our bags and found out after that because of the layover my transfers to the ship was there earlier in the day. I am in a wheelchair and so they tried to get me a wheelchair van but not hard enough the ship left without me and part of my family. NCL said we had to go get tickets on Hawaiian airlines and fly to Maui and catch the ship the next day. So we got tickets for Hawaiian air it cost us $550 for a 30 minute flight. We then realized we had to get a hotel room. The room was $700 for a night. The next day the only thing open was star bucks had to pay for that we were like we have no more money to spend. We finally got to the ship and security seen me and was like Adam l said yes they said come with us. Long story short. Every excursion we bought NCL paid us back and me and my aide got a free upgrade to a handicap balcony
@@michelealkins616 Best cruise ever. The ship was amazing the islands were amazing. First time sailing with NCL but I have been on 17 cruises mostly with carnival. I was a travel agent with my parents until they both retired after 45 years
@@EECCTravels we definitely did. NCL really made up for everything. Yes we had to pay for some stuff. But NCL gave my whole family 90% of our money back so we pretty much got a free cruise and not to mention I got all my money back before the cruise was over which is unheard of for a cruise company to do that normally it takes weeks. Also with all the issues one of the head girls at the main desk kept sending food to my room lol
@Adam Steinel that is freakin awesome they did that for you ❤! They obviously didn't want you to leave angry & upset after that horrendous start to your vacation. If a cruise company did that to make up for the mistakes that were made I'd be more than happy to forgive and forget lol 😂! Definitely can't beat getting 90% of your money back from a cruise trip 😁💫!
Took the inter-island cruise back in May 2001, on the old Independence, before she sank. Somehow, I got booked on a wedding anniversary cruise and I was single - lol - so I was solo with 800 ancient passengers. It was definitely an old ship but my inner corridor room was right next to the gorgeous all teak wood bar and a huge, beautiful deck area to myself. I got to know the bartender pretty well because I was about his only customer and I only ordered soft drinks! He definitely was bored so we talked story. The islands are absolutely magical. When you sail into Kauai, if you get up early enough, you will see the spotted dolphins circling the ship in excitement as they follow you into Lihue. The pizza at Bonzai Pipeline in Kona near the big old banyan tree courtyard was the best I ever had. The Big Island was my favorite. For a day trip you can go north up the Hamakua Coast (which I loved so much I ended up living there for several years), and see Akaka Falls in Honomu, and right next to that on the highway is Kolekole Park, not to be missed. There are two Botanical Gardens. One on the Hamakua Coast and one closer to Hilo - take bug spray! Be sure to get a malasada at Tex near Honokaa, or eat at Merriman's or the burger stand at the mall in Waimea/Kamuela. And, the town of Volcano is amazing! It's in a rainforest! Eat at the beautiful Kilauea Lodge or The Rim Restaurant overlooking the volcano. Beyond that is the Green Beach, made with olivine sand, one of the few in the world, but take a very good 4 wheel drive. Swimming with the manta rays at night in Kohala is glorious! Or snorkling at Two Step. There is just so much to see you can't do it on a short cruise, that's for sure. Each island has it's own wonderful magic. Hawaii no ka oi!
NCL POA is the only cruise ship to see more of the Hawaii islands. Older smaller ship staffed mostly with Americans and its cozey. Definitely my favorite cruise of the 4 NCL cruises that I've done. Also, alot of passengers go to bed early and usually go on excursions at every single port, so much to see and not enough time. Definitely have to go again
Wow... I think you answered my question... IF this is my firs time cruising and I want to see a s much as Hawaii as possible it sounds as though this is it ?? Especially with civilized people on board based on the bed time hours you referenced !
Oh my lord this feels like a lifetime ago already - please can we go back and do it all Again! And thanks for getting a video of the cruise director - was beginning to think he was just voice clip played into your rooms in a morning to wake you up - he is an actual human! 😂
enjoy caught my eye - went for 4 weeks in 2015 spent time in Waikiki and then the Pride of America - its an old ship now but our trip BEFORE COVID and the 85+ cruises we have been around the world were great including the Hawaii. but today, and the drama facing the world in travel. nope - ill stick to airplanes for now. will be watching to see what you think.
My wife and I just locked in for mid to late October for 11 days in a Deluxe Owner's Suite. This will be our first trip to Hawaii so we decided to go for 11 days first 3 days land excursions and then the 7 day cruise.

@@EECCTravels(I know I missed some excursions, up every morning at 5am regardless...lol) anyways the thing I am sure you realized already is the draw of Pride is not the ship itself. It is an old smaller ship. You are not there for the boat, It is hawaii itself. There is not alot of ship activities on pride (trivia, concerts, musicals, etc) and the crowds disappear at around 10. Mostly because everyone has excursions at 8-9 the next morning and there are NO sea days at all to recover/relax. When I went we were 40% capacity, not sure what they are running now, but it was nice to not be so crowded. Enjoy and relax after the cruise because if planned right, you won't do much while there..lol. (Also try dole whip if given the chance. Had at dole plantation--tourist trap, but loved the ice cream)
We're thinking about a Hawaiian Cruise, I'm Handicapped, I use a mobility scooter for getting around. We just did an Alaskan cruise, and I needed it on the ship, (the NCL Encore), and I was able to take it on the Excursions that we did. Have you noticed anyone with Mobility Scooters on this ship for the Hawaiian cruise?

Best bet for souvenirs for friends on a Hawaii cruise.... There is a Walmart and Costco at EVERY port. Ask the crew, because they know! You can get the gorgeous shell leis for like a dollar instead of tourist prices.
We have been on this cruise and loved it! We went at Christmas maybe 14 years ago. We were just in the Islands on Hawaii (Flew there) in May. I highly enjoyed both Hawaiian cruises we have taken. The other Hawaiian cruise was NCL to Fanning Island, Republic of Kiribati - long ago. Loved it!
Love going to Hawaii (I've been a few times) . I'm on the Diamond Princess 16 day roundtrip from San Diego later this year. (I did this same route a few years ago. I love the extra sea days)

So pretty. We have a Condo in Hawaii but really want to take this Cruise around the islands. Multiple friends & relatives have said it was their favorite way to sea the Islands, all the views from their Balconies were amazing!
@@trentramsey3787 from a few things I’ve heard the Port is probably a little better but as some say, the ships leave shortly before sunset so yo won’t miss much after that!
Were Toby Beau performing on the ship? They have been there for sooo long untl the pandemic hit... I had him autograph my lp cover when I was on the cruise in April 2010.
My husband and I just returned from a Hawaiian vacation of three weeks. We are mid sixties, retired and live in West Florida.first week went spent with our son who is stationed at Hickam AFB in Pearl Harbor. It was a fabulous week! The second week we stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. It was a fabulous week! The third week we took this cruise. It was the worst cruise we have ever been on and we have been on 24. Norwegian was terrible. The ship was only 40% full and there were not enough staff. The ship was old and dirty and the bathrooms smelled. Only one restaurant, one bar and a minimal choice of excursions available. No entertainment to mention. Extra charges for everything, taxes on beverages, charges for milkshakes etc. We had the beverage package and it was a waste. The only good thing was getting off the ship and visiting the islands. All were beautiful. Norwegian should not be running this cruise yet. They are charging full price for less than half an experience. Shame on them. You should try Celebrity Cruises. You would be really impressed. I will never cruise Norwegian again ever.
Do they still have the awesome cinnamon rolls for breakfast??? You had to get up early to get one before they were all gone!!! We went in 2007 twice!!! The captain got us really close to a volcano!!! You could hear it when the lava hit the water!!!
Absolutely love the video! I kind of wish you guys had done it a video at night time of the ship by just walking around on the outside because I know it’s lit up red white and blue and I bet he’s absolutely gorgeous
Hi guys! Just booked a cruise on this ship for 2025. Really looking forward to the smaller ship experience. Thanks as always for the great content. I'm already making a list of things to check out and experience while onboard.
get off the ship and do excursions - do not miss anything everything is fabulous - go to the volcano, go to the coffee plantation, go to the fire dance - each night a different port we saw all 7 islands -
Would you like to cruise around the Hawaiian Islands??? Or have you already?? If so, wasn’t it amazing??

I’ve always wondered what the Pride of America looked liked. Thanks for a great tour!
Do they still have the awesome cinnamon rolls for breakfast??? You had to get up early to get one before they were all gone!!! We went in 2007 twice!!! The captain got us really close to a volcano!!! You could hear it when the lava hit the water!!!
This ship looks cool!
Absolutely love the video! I kind of wish you guys had done it a video at night time of the ship by just walking around on the outside because I know it’s lit up red white and blue and I bet he’s absolutely gorgeous
Hi, did they require passports or is drivers license sufficient?
Thanks.
Hi guys! Just booked a cruise on this ship for 2025. Really looking forward to the smaller ship experience. Thanks as always for the great content. I'm already making a list of things to check out and experience while onboard.
Hope you enjoy it!
On indeed this company is hiring. I saw it yesterday.
get off the ship and do excursions - do not miss anything everything is fabulous - go to the volcano, go to the coffee plantation, go to the fire dance - each night a different port we saw all 7 islands -
Was the Cagney's lunch on the departure day a specialty restaurant cost? Or just al carte?
Do you the itineraries for each port arrival & departure times?
Not enough plants on the ship. I see a lot of well designed environments. But where's the greenery?
It feels naked and barren.
