It was brought up when he got drafted, he doesn't have a passion for football, he is just really good at it. Josh Allen had to fight with no Div 1 scholarships and many other QBs had a passion for the game. I just don't think he has the passion.
Generational talent is definitely thrown around way too much. By definition it should be just reserved for guys like Michael Jordan, Tom Brady. Or more recently maybe Shohei Ohtani. Instead of saying generational talent when describing a star player coming out of college, it would be more realistic to say potential future hof, or potential top 10 player in the league.
Even though Trevor Lawrence isn’t a bust, but over the last three years, he was never going to be “Generational” the Jags had thought it would be considering the 2021 QB Draft Class have been a missed opportunity.

Trevor isn’t generational but he’s not bad he gets a lot of blame even though he is stuck with bad play calling, defense that is not pulling much weight and WRs who drop passes more then catch them
Lawerence problem is that he is lazy, not accurate and he cant read defense... no one will say it since they only uses those descriptives for black qbs...
He never played against defense in his life until he got to the Pros and also he's playing for the most irrelevant team in the Big 4 sports (yes, worse than the Sacramento Kings). His brain blue screens when there's defense.
How was Trevor Lawrence called a generational quarterback without even winning a Heisman trophy while starting for three years in college? Cam Newton started ONE college season and won a Heisman trophy and carried Auburn to National Championship (later won a NFL MVP). Lamar Jackson won a Heisman trophy and later won multiple NFL MVP's. Now, those two players are generational. Lawrence is 22-38 as a NFL starter and his career passer rating is 85.0. For context, Jackson is 69-24 as a NFL starter and his career passer rating is now up to 102.0 (3rd all-time, 0.1 points behind Patrick Mahomes). Lawrence was never "that dude"...I always see him as "the great white hope".
Trevor hasnt been as bad as everyone claims. Has he been generational? No, but for as bad as everyone claims he is hes basically top 10 in everything despite having the worst points lost on drops in the NFL by an absolute Massive ammount every year for the last 3 years(its not even remotely close). Along with the worst D the last 2 years, its more the trash Jags franchise doing its best to run everything into the ground as ussual. I don’t think he’s a bust but watch him go to any other team and they do amazing, I feel bad the amount of rookie QB’s with hopes and dreams in their eyes just to end up in one of the worst organizations. Not saying they should go to the best or whatever team they want but to expect a rookie to rebuild a franchise is asking a lot when there’s what 50+ other players and a coaching staff that needs to be reworked. I wish the nfl would keep that trend of getting a veteran QB until rookies are ready to play rather than throwing them to the wolves and giving them the bust label for a bad season.
Ah, he hasn't lost a fumble in 2024. Not helping with that defense. Given time he can throw it into a shoebox. He has a 66 MPH fastball. He's on a miserable team but he is still young and has a high ceiling.
4 years and no improvement..... He's easily rattled when the rush is coming, he's looking at the rush instead of looking up the field, overthrowing wide open receivers, while throwing interceptions.
He's really good. Expectations are too high for him. If you expected him to come in and turn the Jags into the peak version of the Patriots, then of course you'll be disappointed. There's not a QB in history that could come into a terrible program and make them a contender all by himself.
He’s only as good as the players around him. It takes good protection from his line and good receivers. Also being able to run the ball effectively takes some pressure off of him. Look at Andrew Luck . Good quarterback but never had the other pieces around him. Always running for his life. At the end always hurt or playing hurt .
Bo Nix makes him look like complete garbage these so called GMs and talent scouts or whatever don't have many good ones I would have never drafted this loser with the last pick
I started researching the SEC some years ago because the conference represents corruption, IMO. That led me to research Trevor L. I came away from my research on him possibly living a lifestyle other than he seems. Well, clearly it is evident at his high school level Mr. Trevor undeservedly earned his QB position in the SEC because he is failing in that QB career at the professional level. Listen to his pre game speeches the passion ain’t there
If you don't have a passion for something you don't play injured. Trevor does please know what you're talking about before you try and make an opinion
Tru I would question his passion
Every ACC game he had was passion. Pay him money he’s already done the most for our small communities
