I live in Maryland, so I fish on the Potomac river. Obviously a dynamite tidal fishery. With moons usually creates what’s called a flood tide. Which just like you said, keeps the water high. As you said, a falling tide is usually best, but don’t think you can catch him around the high tide. Specially, in the back waters where you have a little bit more water for the fish to push up to. And with a higher tide, it also opens up more bait options that you might not be able to fish on a low tide. Tide changes every six hours. Little tip for you, if you are pre-fishing. Fish two weeks before your tournament to practice and that should be the same tide as the day of the tournament. Great content is always, Tyler!
One thing to note is that even if its a crescent moon that’s visible, the whole moon is still affecting water with its gravity. I try and pay attention to when the moon rises and when it’s mostly overhead i get more bites.
I have have been out catfishing on a full moon and all types of fish is more active great information thank you
I experience New moon in October also go into feeding at night 12:00am into 4:00am. I forget when in October. But it was in October.
When do y'all find the moon's impact begins to hit? Say it's going to be a full moon - do you find the bass start patterning that way the night before? Before sunset that day? Not until well into the night of the new moon?
Starting 5 days before the full moon to the full moon.
New moon starts on new moon with two days before being very good and two days behind the new moon the best two days of the month.
The moon sets the schedule for which the tides and waves abide by, it's powerful and I'm certain that it effects all things, even us,even bass in ways that we probably don't even know
I fish the St. Johns and during the post spawn (now) it is always advantageous to hit those creeks on moving tides (not high or low...just moving g) during g the spawn we want to see high water in the shallow flats on the river and offset creeks.
In a word yes it does!
Anyone notice he was only catching smallmouth bass & no largemouth bass?
is that just what the lake has a lot of?
I’ve found if & when the moon is up 9 o’clock 2oclock during the day even I’ve had a lot more bites
Ok so yes I had exactly what you are talking about the moon pushing the water in North Carolina at times. And here's what the do and I do I still fish the tidal fisheries the same. As high and low tide except differently because the water isn't changing. So what I do is fish it like I normally do except I fish it more like I would an non tidal lake whenever this happens. And what I mean is think as it as an non tidal lake at that point. I hope this helps.
Have you tried any of the new Great Lakes finesse soft plastics
What is the best bluegill imitation bait or lure
megabits dark sleeper works great, also just a jig works great too!
