Your "Kuryakyn hit or miss" comment almost had me rolling on the floor! I know exactly what you mean. I don't buy their stuff anymore. For me, it's been too expensive for the level of quality.
Your frustration level was coming through a little on this one Brother! I know exactly how you were feeling. I hate paying good money for substandard parts!
LOL yes sir.l..Kuryakin man...your rollin the dice but hey..they are the only ones making it so we deal with it I guess...thanks for checking it out though bro! Much appreciated.
Back in the early to mid 90’s their parts were decent. I had their chrome accent pieces, even ran a HyperCharger on my Softail Custom and my Road King. To bad they lost their way and let quality slip so much.
Love your videos, man I've saved a lot of money by watching and doing things myself. Keep them coming Brother these videos are perfect for the average home mechanic
Sorry these comments on this video never showed up on my side til this week.. thank you for checking it out though...much appreciated. Glad to help as well! All about saving some money!
I put the Arlen Ness Velocity 65 on my twin cam and hate the throttle body wires sticking out. I’m gonna have to try this. BTW they say dogs are man’s best friend but I believe Brake Cleaner has taken that spot. 😂
Sorry these comments on this video never showed up on my side til this week.. But thank you for checking it out David...gotta keep it real with kuryakyn parts for sure lol
By the way, connect with Amsoil Adam, he’s a good cat who’d love your instructional content. He’s also set up at all the major rallies as you may know.
Been using DAWN DISH WASHING SOAP on my Screaming Eagle paper kinda material a/c element. Cuts oily residue after overnight soaking per. HD cleaning directions Might try just a skinch of silver or copper coat anti seize keep little gaskets in place. Silver blends with chrome LOL ! Keep shiny side up.
yeah ive used copper on gaskets before but this one really wasnt too bad...just annoying they put the crap on there and it doesnt work..jst dont put it on there lol
Kind of on the same subject, the air cleaner with the Rinehart Racing logo on it is the very same air cleaner as in your video. The backing plate and the filter element are labeled with the Arlen Ness name.
@@sikbaggers Other than the outer cover, it's the same as yours. I think it's referred to as "edge cut". Black and silver with Rinehart Racing engraved on it. It's also available fully chromed. BTW, great videos. Thanks.

Hi Steve I was dying, laughing when you started in on Kuryakyn. I ran into the same thing, two weeks ago. I was looking for a flush gas, cap and flush fuel gauge and Kuryakyn had the flush fuel gauge, but I couldn’t find the flush gas cap. But in the picture I saw the flush gas cap. So I wrote to them they told me no technical department. I said that has nothing to do with technical. The sales department can tell me what’s the part number for the other flush gas cap and all I got was we don’t have a technical dept.
Sorry these comment son this video never showed up on my side til this week.. but thank you for checking it out! Much appreciated and yeah...they are hit and miss for sure.
Sorry these comment son this video never showed up on my side til this week..But yes..Ive had that ratchet for 4 years and used daily and no issues..it has the best torque ive found on a ratchet and the batteries last a pretty good while despite the size. Love it!
Air filter cleaning. Soap and water or simple green. Do not use K&N cleaner or harsh cleaners. Do not use oil. I’ve already destroyed one of these filter elements with K&N cleaner. The element actually was coming out of the mesh.
I tapped a hole in each one of those bolt holes for the air cleaner after I plugged where that oil actually comes out with 2 small screws and then ran it into a T fitting and to a single rubber line and zip tied it to the inside under the frame , that oil will leave a thick burnt caked layer of oil on your pistons And I wasn't about to have that happen to that new S&S 128" I just built
@@sikbaggers , when we pulled the jugs and pistons off of that M8 in my 2020 Street Glide, I couldn't believe the amount of it on those pistons after only 9k miles on it
Try spraying the filter with Simple Green, let it sit a few minutes, then rinse with clear water and gently blow dry with compressed air. The Simple Green or Purple Power works great and it's cheaper than K&N cleaner.

Thanks Steve. The additional chrome looks great. Sadly, Kuryakyn looks like a good place to avoid.
yes...now a days it is...they used to be a leading company when it came to this stuff...and ill say even back then, it was hit and miss on some parts
Need to add external breather system fromD&K , and stop the oil mist from going back into the throttle body.
