I think it's hilarious that you're telling people this is the quickest gearing has ever been in PVP. I just got Shadowlands 3 weeks ago. I grinded my ass off, got all my pieces to 171, and then realized I can't go any further until I dedicated an entire day to doing Campaign. It sucked, but I finally got it over with, only to go grind for 2-3 more days, before realizing I would have to go dedicate another entire day to Campaign. I grinded for honor 2-3 days again and upgraded my gear, before realizing that I needed to dedicate another entire day to doing Campaign, but even after doing that, I'm now time-gated and won't be able to earn anymore renown until NEXT WEEK. I currently can't upgrade my gear at all. So next Tuesday I can dedicate another day of doing Campaign before grinding more Honor for 2-3 days to upgrade my gear again before likely getting time-locked and/or required to do another day of Campaign quests. And I just learned about Legendaries, so I spent the entire day doing Torghast, which was extremely boring for me. I don't enjoy killing repetitive trash mobs.. just to be relevant in PVP. So here I am after 3 weeks of grinding BGs with entire days devoted to Campaign and Torghast, and my gear is still terrible and I still get one shotted by literally anyone who breathes on me. This is literally the first expansion in my 16 years of playing WoW where I've done BGs for 3 weeks straight, and am still too under-geared to kill another player or survive more than 2-3 hits tops. In every single expac prior to this one I would do BGs for a couple of days and immediately hop into Arenas and be competitive. This is the slowest, and worst grind I've ever experience for gearing with BGs, literally of all time. Maybe if you played from day 1 it felt fine since everyone else was geared equally, but it's been really brutal and slow and I'll probably never make an alt if it means I have to do 2-3 days of Campaign, Torghast and being time-locked just to be able to gear my character for PVP.
I literally just did the campaign, upgraded the pieces with vers and replaced the others with honor and conquest gear and here I am a few days later with 200ilvl 22% vers. So easy.
As I have played with my two mains I have come to realize that none of the 4 anima sinks are really worth a crap. Even the transportation network ends up not being useful except for a one way portal to Oribos. I mean unless I have the calling for doing 4 quests in my home zone, the transport network just doesn’t matter. I have pretty much quit using any of them. I wish I would have figured it out sooner
So ive been posting on forums and elsewhere and nobody seems to be able to answer my questionl do all the extra catch up mechanics only apply to ALT characters? My alt is a fire mage i started leveling about 3 weeks ago to 60, and he was given so many renown quests to "catchup" that he is already renown 22 today where as my main ( aff warlock) has been playing since day 1 of SL and Ive never had more than 2 weekly quests that everyone gets, and just one dungeon quest to kill Devos or whatever, and have never SEEN an extra quest pop up in ANY max lvl content to catch me up and my main is only renown 17....so is catch up broken to only help alts??

Leggo's themselves don't get stronger with higher ilvl. All that improves is secondary stats and primary. So no you won't be significantly weaker on your alts lol.
Personnally I just do the covenant campaign and a couple of mm+ from 2 to 8 on my alts for a chance to get some extra gear and for the weekly vault, it's more than enough for these characters which I get mainly for professions and probably if I switch main (which is unlikely but we can't be too sure :D ) I might touch pvp one day but it's not my focus atm or at least not with the classes i'm playing

This word... catchup... I don't think it means what you think it means.. "catchup" - costs between 3550 (cheapest slot, offhand stat stick) to 14250 (2hander weapon) honor to upgrade a single item to 197 (average price 7125 for the "big" items like head, chest etc) "catchup" - costs 1050 anima to upgrade covenant item to 197. yeah these don't sound like catchups... AT ALL. PvP is nearly hopeless with average ilvl being around 208 so new alts end up being 1-2shot by any class, not just rogue. Anima also can't be farmed very efficiently as there's limited number of anima world quests around. Your best bet is to just spam dungeons between campaign missions to get renown up to speed - which will eventually make world quest gear rewards be 184 ilvl. Or have your guild pull you through all m0 dungeons to at least get 184 gear while you farm anima/honor/conquest for upgrades for that. Since that will take a few weeks. Anima upgrades are relatively cheap - but you'll obviously shirk yourself on sanctum upgrades so I doubt it's worth it.

The vendor should have a selection of three weapons with different stats i just did it yesterday with a staff for my priest it’s just different stats might check again
still hate the fact that we have to do 8 layers of torghast for soul ash on new chars.Shouldve let us jump on last layer right away if cleared with main

Yes. Each 6 floors is modeled after a wing (mortregar, soulforges etc) and as long as you kill the final boss on that "wing" you have the same chance to get the legendary as if you'd done the normal wing.
Macros probably in case he forgets he isn’t cat and has the corresponding skill in cargoes bound there (#showtooltip /cast [form=2] (catskill); catform)
@@naitsirhcvh had 15k honor from leveling to 60 so I used that to buy 158 pvp gear, then completed my whole campaign to get the set that can be leveled up to 197 now at renown 20, and lastly I did world boss and farmed 3500 conquest for half of a set of conquest gear and leveled it to 207 by simply hitting 1400cr

@@naitsirhcvh better do campaign first, it will give you a decent set to start with, each chapter gives a higher ilvl piece. After that you can farm conquest in arenas with a friend and fill in the holes from your campaign set. The arenas will get honor for pvp upgrades as well, and arenas can reward random renown levels, I got to renown 22 in 2 days also after finishing campaign in those 2 days
Hmmm not sure any of that is catch up stuff... Like the lego stuff is not catch up its just another way to get it the soul ash is the only time gate there. Would love some catch up for that. Soul ash and no valor vender are the only thing's that suck about shadowlands
This game just became an alt gearing game. M+ gear loot is bad, anima ammount in everything sucks. Overalla the game wants you to keep doing the same thing but with alts. I dont have the time to raid. And raiding gives the best gear so GG
Beter only if you play Mythic raid.. dungeon gear is good too and you dont need best gear on your alt get some gear and play 1-4 M+ for weekly and wait
Gearing through PvP is the fastest and most consistent way to gear atm. Try gearing through M+ with 2 pieces per dungeon dropping for the entire group or through raids with 1.5 item on average for a full CN clear.
Torghast is worthless. it's a diablo 3 rift rip off. Atleast in d3 you got gear at the end. The maw and torghast are about the dumbest thing I've felt with since vanilla

catch up my butt, if your between 190 and 200 for get it...kinda but at that ilevl you'll never get invited to raiding, the guild you r in will start ignoring you in chat, your guild and friends are all ready doing keys above +11 so forget you asking the guild to help you or do keys with you when your key is at a 7 or 9 lol so get depress struggling pushing your key to hope for a piece of gear droping that is good, o and you gotta do 10 of them to even have a better chance of getting a good gear well trying to complete key to keep your I.O from looking bad o and get depress for every time your guild dont do a second raid group for the week were you can get normal or maybe H CN....HA you will fall behind each week.
Both the Covenant and the Honor gear level up to 197. So get gear from covenants and use your honor to buy Neck, Rings, and Trinkets, the covenant gear does NOT have these pieces. Use your conquest to buy your ilvl 200 weapon. I went this route, with a lvl 2 leggo, I was able to get a ilvl 199.

@@Aikicyoaz it might be your class/spec, when I returned I noticed my toon felt less powerful and could only kill one mob at a time. It was painful and slow, I ended up switching and it made playing more enjoyable.

No matter how much catch up mechanics the put in it still ain't alt friendly, the whole grind aspect in the main part to get somewhere will never change and make alts fun, keep grinding and storyline apart, no person with a social life and work can play this crap, and no it's not just me, before you basement dwellers single me out.
Idk. I play two characters, one at 206 and another at 200. I also work 20 hrs a week, have a girlfriend, go out with friends, and am taking a full course load at uni. I definitely don’t intend to raid mythic or be the best geared player on the server, but I’ll be able to clear heroic and all +15’s. Guess it’s about setting realistic, and fun, goals... this is a game after all :)
Try 4 characters, lol 2 dps and 2 healers, i did hc raiding in bfa but i gave up after what they did to aff lock, yeah you can juggle all the stuff but it took way longer than the others, n'zoth was 2 times a week grind Wednesday and Saturday, SL forces you to do a 3 times a week grind, and then let's not talk about TG and the maw, utter crap. A daily grind, and only once? Hell, with the visions you had freedom, with this you are forced to do stuff you don't like.
