I have two words anyone replacing this filter. "Paper clip." When installing the new filter, i used a paper coip to help feed the filter on in, as it will definitely get hungup on something. Also, be careful not to drop one of your screws behind that kick panel on the right side by the floor. I may or may not have lost one of my screws this way. This actually was not as bad as i thought it would be. They definitely should change this design. This is ridiculous to have so many steps to replace something that requires changing frequently. Also, don't forget to reconnect the wire harness to the fan blower before you close everything back up. Great video

As a Kenworth tech i say u did good. It isnt that big of a pain, 15 min job start to finish. Trim off to trim on. Biggest tip is have two o ring picks, used as chopsticks to seat the filter home through the honeycomb holes. Like your driver. Picks leave vertaly no damage to the filter. Drivers could, in the wrong hands. But yes, guys change these things. You dont want me having to open up that blend door box to change out your actuators and doors. I dont mind. But u might.$$$$

Larry your videos are excellent especially the technical ones. Have you ever thought of linking up with various manufacturers to produce these videos for the small firms and owner operators, it could be quite a money saver for them especially if garage labour rates are as high in the US as they are in the UK. Good luck and keep on filming and motoring.

Good tech video. It is true, designers should be brutalized for how they configure and locate equipment. If they ever had to service what they designed, maintenance would be considerably easier and the people doing the servicing would lose a lot less blood. Just some thoughts and observations from an old and retired ship engineer. Drive safe. Stay warm.

Say Larry. To make it much easier for the recirculating filter, pull that side panel on the right of the glove box and reach right in behind the air box. Pull out your old, slide in the new. No cuts & not near as much fuss. The left side like you did is the standard way & it sucks. Try it next time. You all will like it.

If anyone is curious the two air filters that you need a cross reference part number is CF10743. You can get them from Amazon for $13.99. Or Walmart for probably about the same price. It’s a Fram air filter with Febreze and it goes to a Chrysler something or other but it’s a lot cheaper than getting it through Kenworth.

I literally just clean the recirculation filter with an air gun. Then use the air gun on the blower also (improves its efficiency). If you spend enough time, those filters in theory be used maybe 3 times before you get a new one.
