It absolutely drove me bonkers, so I sent it in to Omega asking them to send me a quote for the replacement. They did it for free and shipped the watch back to me with a brand new crystal. These kind of unexpected happy customer service events are just wonderful to both experience and to hear them happen to others! Congratulations and I'm super happy to hear your news! 🙂

Zenith might be the brand with most sentimental value to me, due to an odd string of events in my teenage years. Zenith and Tag Heuer, oddly enough, though Tag Heuer won me over slightly later (after, or as a result of, the Zenith thing). The additional straps (and boxes) are not a cheap bonus, either. Awesome, Zenith. Love the Pilot. Probably getting one of those or a Defy Skyline next. The grey dial triple calendar is a lovely colorway. They've been tweeting it and it's so good looking.

I think the only place that has them is in downtown Boston close to me so I’m going to go check it out. I’ll report back what I think. It looks like ironically Jomas Shop has two new ones for sale at way under retail as well. Unless I drank too much last night under $10k which seems crazy.
Definitely check them out. I would avoid Jomashop dude. You won’t have a warranty with Zenith and Jomashop customer service is beyond bad. I learned the hard way on 3 separate occasions several years ago.

I talked to there head watchmaker and he said it was running at 40% amplitude crown down. But they went out of their way to just replace it. Highly unusual from a luxury brand. It seems that they went above and beyond for you, and you do not know if this piece has the same issues. Would you say in the future if it does? I think you are a stand up guy (one of a very small number of RUclipsrs I would say that about), but surely that would be a very difficult decision for you if it did indeed become the case?
