I get a 30 pound box of blueberries from my daughter in law who works for a local food processing plant. They are HUGE berries. This company processes them for Dole. They are flash frozen, and I then use my food sealer and make up bags with 6 cups of berries and hand them out to our senior neighbors. And the best thing.. is that it's FREE !. ha
That is FANTASTIC. I know they appreciate it. Unfortunately a lot of Seniors are on such a tight budget, fresh fruit, some veggies & proteins, may not fit into their BUDGET. BLESS YOU🙏
For those who think the Late July Tortilla Chips cost too much, Doritos cost the same amount at Walmart. Gosh, I am 57 years old, and I have never had children. I am in awe of how she does it all. From a husband to a baby still in diapers, homeschools her kids, has a You Tube channel, cooks every day three times a day from scratch, active in church, has cows, chickens, land, building a house, has parents on the other side of the country, in law on the other side of the world. Her family is healthy happy and thriving, I don't think she is bothered about the relatability of a tortilla chip.

Blueberries are 1 of the easiest foods to preserve. I simply put them in freezer bags and freeze. It makes an amazing, cold, snack, on a hot summer day! Almost as good as candy 😄
I think the complainers forget that cook almost 100% of three meals plus snacks EVERY day! I admire your quest for good food balanced by cost for 13 people! Every day! I’m a household of one, and I don’t cook like you do. Please don’t let those comments get in your head ! Blessings! ❤❤
You can pop in baggies and freeze the blueberries just as is. Do not rinse before freezing. I thaw for smoothies, pancakes or in blueberry tea bread. They grow wild near me and I’m able to pick gallons worth for free!!
We have blue berry bushes , I wash and then put out on towel and dry, put in bag and freeze and then easy to eat. Mine has a lot of trash on them, part of the bush and the top of berry.
@@PENPAL555 If you wash them before you freeze them they tend to get soggy or mushy. Even if you dry them off it doesn’t take all the moisture away. And I'm amazed at how much processed meat and packaged foods she has. Packaged salad greens etc. Like to know how much those blueberries and the butter cost. I'm in Australia. The comparisons are interesting. I expect that box of butter to be upward of $150.00. Not quite sure of the size of each block.
I live in North Carolina and a family size bag of any chip is $5.99 or higher. The irony is that there aren’t that many chips in the over priced bag. If we have company for a cookout I purchase at least 3 bags of chips. There are never any left! You do such a great job on your budget Sarah. There will always be naysayers! OMGosh. You shop so smart, healthy, a few candy’s for kids, etc. There is one shopper on YT (We all know who) who justifies spending $2,000.00 A WEEK. Ignore anyone who says otherwise. When you have time, it would nice to hear and see a house update. Hugs to All. 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Today was a long day for our family of 6. This overstimulated mom was so excited to see your new video drop. I clicked immediately! Your videos always make my day better ❤
lol the people that are mad you spent $5 on chips don’t understand that those huge family size bags are a deal because the smaller versions at the grocery store cost the same. I think you’re doing a good job choosing better ingredients for your large family!
Frozen blueberries and frozen sliced peaches mixed together while frozen. Great on the table, especially in a glass bowl. Set them out early and they thaw beautifully.
I just wash the blueberries and put them on a parchment paper lined sheet tray in one layer, and freeze it, then put it in gallon Ziploc bags. I like it as a frozen snack in a bowl with milk poured over them (the milk freezes and it is so good!), or smoothies, or in breads and pancakes and compotes.
One of my kids loved eating frozen blueberries straight out of the freezer. I would buy them when in season, wash, dry and flash freeze on cookie sheets before bagging up in freezer zip top bags. He could have a bowl of frozen blueberries year round that way. The quality of them when frozen and fully thawed is not great, but having frozen blueberries on hand was also great for smoothies or baking blueberry muffins, coffee cakes, etc. It makes sense that your grocery budget has gone up for a couple of reasons: grocery prices are going up around the world, not just the US. My friends in Canada and Europe are paying way more than we are. Also, as your kids are getting older, they are eating more. Even with two of them living away right now, you're feeding more teens and young adults than you used to, so the food doesn't go as far. You're doing a fabulous job of feeding them quality foods that keep them filled longer, though.
Thousand Hills is so good!! Beautiful haul! We shop weekly for our fam of 13, but I think it’s fantastic you go once a month! That bag of mangoes! Haha! I need to find those at Azure! I'm so happy for you and your family; you must be excited to travel and see family in Kenya. What a blessing❤️
Hey Sarah… I live in Berry country in British Columbia. Blueberries are the absolute easiest berry to process. I like to wash mine before freezing, but some people don’t even do that. You do not have to poke a hole in them. When you freeze them, it burst the skin, so it perforates it. Then you can dehydrate them straight from frozen… If you’d like to have them on hand for muffins in the winter, you can simmer blueberries for about 20 minutes or so add a splash of lemon and some cinnamon and you have blueberry sauce. You can can it or eat it on pancakes, yogurt, lemon loaf, or anything else. If you don’t have time, you can simply wash the blueberries and pack them into jars andcan them. Add a splash of lemon and a little cinnamon if you want. Blueberries can be water bath canned so you do not have to pressure can them. That’s probably more than you wanted to know, but I did want you to know how easy they are to process. So the kids can even prepare them for the freezer or pack them in jars for water bathing. Enjoy those blueberries!
I freeze my blueberries on a tray and then transfer to ziplock bags. No poking or anything special. We love using them in pancakes. Just add them frozen. They thaw while cooking
For the blueberries- Freeze on sheet trays in single layers then put in ziplock bags... prevents then from mushing together into 1 big brick... You can eat them frozen or in baked goods etc. (Same for grapes!)
Sarah, so proud of you for ditching the Diet Coke this month. We used to spend ALOT of money on bottled drinks. We now buy Celestial Seasonings fruit flavored Tea Bags. I brew about 10-12 teabags in a Dutch oven. After cooling and squeezing out the bags, we get a gallon of iced tea. Also I only use a half cup of sugar for the whole gallon. It’s delicious and healthier than the bottled drinks.
@@robynhayward Of course. We like he Red Raspberry, Mixed Berry, Blueberry, Peach, and Lemon. Sometimes I mix certain flavors together. Ex. Peach/Raspberry. Aka Peach Melba.
Costco also has business stores that specifically supply commercial endeavors but any Costco members can use them. I have found good for many things in larger sizes that regular Costco does not carry, example- boxes of very wide lasagna noodles and nacho chips . Also, ramen noodles are easy to make if you have a pasta machine, the nests of noodles freeze very well and are handy if you discard the flavor packs anyway.
I had a blueberry orchard in South Carolina with lots and lots of berries. I picked and sometimes I rinsed them and sometimes I just picked and froze them. I used freezer bags. When I took them out to use they were just like I had picked them. We had gardens and I froze and canned everything I could. I loved canned fresh string beans they were the best. I miss that life.
I so love your grocery hauls! Your channel was one of the first channels I subscribed to . Destiny was a small baby back then. Watching the children grow and seeing all the adventures and amazing life events has truly been a blessing. You're doing an amazing job! God bless you all.
I’ve decided a few things myself. 1. As we get older and have more experience, and assuming we have a better budget or income, we have been able to accommodate dietary wishes. No everyone can afford organic or even azure and that’s okay. In time. Pray about it. 2. The further we moved from the city it just made sense to buy local or bulk like Azure. As a trade off I ditched the Costco card. Will miss the cash back but we do t buy monthly anymore and it’s too far. 3. Even as my family dynamic changes, I still buy bulk. I’m still (always?) learning new skills from breads to cheese to milk products and I want to have ingredients on hand. Going to the store less also costs less (gas, time, and money). Our budget has also gone up because costs have gone up. Everyone does what they can how they can. And I’d rather see someone get a dozen cans of X for food storage from dollar tree than not at all. We’re all becoming scouts: be prepared. ❤
Poking the hole or cutting the skin on blueberries is only for freeze drying! They freeze really well without needing to do anything :) I recently got a freeze dryer and love it so much...!
You’re doing amazing !!!!!! I just returned from living in Waikiki Hawaii for 13 months and the prices of food ie chips is a WHOLE lot MORE there than what someone(s) was being negative towards you about ! How you choose to spend the money that God gives you is up to you and we all could learn from you for sure ! Growing in Grace, Deborah in Florida ❤❤❤❤❤

I absolutely positively believe that you are an amazing cook, and you all eat healthier than anyone else on the internet!!!!!!!!! Anyone complaining about your hauls have absolutely no idea what they are talking about!!!!! You Rock Sarah!!!!!!!
I bought 10 pounds of blueberries as a single gal. I washed mine and picked out any that looked questionable. I let them dry flat and then put them on a rimmed baking sheet and tossed in the freezer and then put in freezer bags... no problem, lasted for a year before I ate them all.
We live in AZ and got lemons from a family members tree and I used your trick and froze the lemon juice in little cubes! I’m super excited to use them. ❤
Sarah, I literally watch your channel and am a 54 year old single woman who only had one child who is grown, married and has my two adorable grandchildren! We live two different lives and I still find you so enjoyable AND relatable!!! I love good quality food and the Lord! Keep up being you!
Me too. Married stay at home Mom and wife of one teen girl. I live a pretty privileged life, drive a Porsche and start my Day with coffee with my friends. But a Part of me Yearns for a life like Sarah’s. The closeness, the respect, the fun, the love. Just radiates.
The way I preserve blueberries is by washing them, dry somewhat on paper towels, then freezing them in a single layer on cookie sheets. I then put them in freezer bags - ready to eat or cook with. They last a very long time in the freezer. We make smoothies with a lot of frozen fruit.
I've been watching you for a couple years now and with what I've gathered from how you like to feed your family Costco hands down has the quality ingredients and products you want over Sams - and for reference I also have both memberships.
I totally understand that food prices have gone up all over the world! I am from the UK, and they definitely went up a fair bit here. I also understand that some people struggle more than others, but at the end of the day, I wouldn't be getting mad at what others are doing with THEIR MONEY! To be honest, you are trying to project your feelings or situations on to them. Doesn't mean this lady isn't relatable!
Please tell me where you can get a family sized bag of chips for less than 5.99? That’s crazy talk! You are one of the most relatable people on RUclips. I’m a retired widow with all my kids grown and gone and I find you very relatable and real. Don’t you change anything!
For the blueberries- just spread them out on a cookie tray and pop them in the freezer to flash freeze. Package in vacuum seal or gallon freezer bags, and done!
Love your videos. You do such an amazing job at feeding your family. Love your what's gor dinner video and am always amazed at all your canning, cooking from scratch and making your own bread, sour cream, ranch dressing, mozzerella and so much more. Sarah you are a wonderful Mother and Solo is great Father I hope you all have a wonderful Vacation visiting Your Mother in law and Family in Kenya 🇰🇪 God bless you all 🙏🏻✝️☮️🇺🇸🇰🇪
I have frozen blueberries several times! I don’t poke a hole in them. I usually just pop them on a tray to let them freeze then put them in a bag once frozen (this method helps them not stick together in the bag). Sometimes I cover them in yogurt and put them on a tray, freeze them, then break it up to put in a bag. My kids love eating them frozen both ways! I also use them for smoothies and overnight oats.
The five dollar chips/5.99 was hilarious!!! This just shows that God created people differently and uniquely. I pray for those unique people to be understanding that some people like chips that cost more or less then they do. :)
Sarah, I just wash the blueberries, let them air dry and place in a freezer bag. I bring them out when I want some in a smoothie, waffles or pancakes. 😋
On the you tube channel the cross legacy she states storing your avocado with your lemons keeps both fresher longer. I freeze blueberries for use in smoothies, sauces, muffins, pancakes. To keep fresh longer in fridge I store in a mason jar w/lid and they’ll keep for up to a month
If you do wash the berries before freezing, let them air dry well, freeze on a papered baking tray, then bag. They won’t stick together that way. I do this with peppers, strawberries, raspberries, etc.
I have a Blueberry Farm in BC Canada 🇨🇦 and you can freeze berries just the way they are, you can also can them. I read you need to poke a hole in them to dehydrate them.
A 170 g (6 oz) bag of Doritos is $3 in Australia and s family sized bag is $9… crazy! Sarah, I have watched you for years and loved following your parenting journey. I have watched you move to simpler foods, to more “make from scratch” menus, it has all been delightful. We all have seasons in our lives, you are down to earth, the love for your family shines through. Let the haters hate! Those that admire you are here in droves ❤
Even though you budget separately for your bulk purchases for beef, pork and chicken it would be a good help for your viewers to see that group of budgeted items also listed as part of your monthly food budget videos. This will give a more realistic budget for your viewers instead of just doing an annual video for the meat pickups.
Wash and dry your blueberries and put them on a baking tray, don't over crowd the pan. Put in the freezer overnight with tinfoil ontop. Then you can move them to bags or however else you would rather freeze. They're fantastic that way
Sarah, I have been loving to watch your videos for a couple of years! I so admire and respect you! I currently live in Brazil, South America with my husband, so you help me keep up to date on lots of things about family life in the USA! Keep being the lovely person that you are and sharing your very interesting life with us!
It’s so important to remember give and take. It’s so easy for me to judge myself or even others about what we eat or buy. No one can do food perfectly in this world we live in. I have to get out of the perfect mindset. I’m hard on myself about how much we had to slide backwards into non organic because of inflation. But we can only do what we can do. I’m sure you guys have struggled financially at times too. Erin O’Brien, author, said “don’t make perfect the enemy of the good”. I need to keep remembering that.
I want to say that I love the Tribe of Many content! I personally have learned and added so much from this channel to my life. People can sometimes be mean for no reason. The rest of your viewers love you and your family!
Everyday with a big family can be wild lol I totally understand you. You never know what's going to be laying around while doing videos. Sarah you have a beautiful family!
To freeze blueberries just sort them wash lay out on towels to dry then bag and freeze. If you think to shake the bags every couple of hours until they are frozen solid. They are wonderful that way! We do this every summer.
I pick fresh blueberries in the summer to fall and freeze in quart freezer ziplock bags (4Cup) You can do in gallon size if you have room-:) I do not rinse in water but I do sort through I with a tray with a cotton dish towel, rolling them around , as I sort through them helps to take the dust and other that might be present. They are great to have in the freezer whole through the winter season. Can use in pancakes, make pies, muffins, put in smoothies, kid s like to eat , as well as I think they are a nice frozen treat😃👍🏼 these are just a few ways so many ways😃👍🏼
I think it’s great that you’re teaching your kids to eat healthy. No one is perfect and it’s ok to eat unhealthy on occasion. It’s so important to watch what goes into your body though and it’s good your kids will learn this young.
Your Family is perfectly balanced… not too anything and not lacking anything… you were quite entertaining in this video thanks for the chuckles…you reminded me of the comedic side of your Mom and Dad ❤
I am glad that people said what I was thinking. $5.00 is not expensive for those chips, also you don't need to apologize for buying your family what you think is best. You are amazing and a great mom and wife. A!so regarding g your Costco membership you can download the app and can have the card on your phone so you don't lose it. Keep doing what you do and God bless you and your family.
For blueberries: I wash them and put them in a single layer on parchment paper covered cookie sheets and then flash freeze. I then put them in freezer containers and enjoy for the remaining year.
Your bananas and oranges are so pretty. I eat a lot of those 2 fruits. We have fruit trees here in Arizona most every house. This year the grapefruit s were so good and the oranges. One of our neighbors had excess. Lemons and put them in a box every day. We use a lot of lemons and these were as big as an orange but I don’t know the name of them. Sometimes the lemons are so sweet I eat them like an orange. I haven’t seen banana trees but I buy. Them I only eat them green and yours look so good. I’m 77 and did I say I love fruit.
I was told by someone who grew blueberries to put them in the freezer unwashed. Then take out what you need and wash before you use them. I have done this all my life and it works great.
I’m late-but you can can whole blueberries!! Just fill a jar with them and top with water. Super simple and great to have on hand for baking without taking up freezer space. Can also dehydrate (no freeze dryer here) but you have to dip them in hot water to pop them first. Hope this helps!
I find you very relatable ♥️. No one person can relate to everyone in everything :). Which I know you know. Keep sharing your life with the right heart and intention and the Lord will keep blessing it ♥️
I make my own apple chips, just slice some apples thin lay them on their side, I don't even seed or core them, lay tgem on parchment paper on baking sheets I even place them kinda sitting on the side, it doesn't matter, I sprinkle with cinnamon, on both sides and put tgem in a preheated 225° oven then check and flip them in an hour or so, it takes about 3-4 hours depending on how thin they are, I store them in a ziplock with a moisture absorber..... yours probably wouldn't last that long, but it's a thought. 😊 when we go pick blueberries, we have them in abundance, we wash them, tgen let them slightly air dry and put them in freezer bags, they are delicious to just eat frozen in the summer or add to yogurt or ice cream..... also blueberry lemonade is delicious, just crush a handful or so in the lemonade. .... yummm Thank you for sharing, I always ❤ all your vloggs!
My youngest daughter and I go to the home of an older couple, who are good friends of ours, and pick about 20 lb of blue berries from the 30+year old bushes! I leave have of them in a flat on the table and let the kids snack on them until they are full. The rest I place in 5lb bags , suck out the air and put them in the deep freeze. They keep for easily 7 or 8 months. . . I just don't know we ever had any last that long!
I did the same thing with the mangoes last month! I got tired of buying the 5lb bag when the bigger one is cheaper. I just had to put the additional mangoes away from hands that can get to them. 😉😉😉
I made blueberry freezer jam one year. Easy peezy. Just follow the recipe in the box of pectin. Just add a little water to your jam and you have a nice blueberry syrup for waffles, pancakes, French toast or ice cream.
Blueberry jam is my favorite and I make about every kind. You don’t need to poke them to freeze them. We pick our own so I don’t wash them them before them before I freeze them. Someone will be against that but that’s ok. We are all fine here.
You're doing amazing with your grocery budget for a family as large as yours. Keep up the good work. The economy is so bad especially on essential items like groceries and gas. I enjoy your money saving tips!!

lol the people that are mad you spent $5 on chips don’t understand that those huge family size bags are a deal because the smaller versions at the grocery store cost the same. I think you’re doing a good job choosing better ingredients for your large family!
I used to freeze blueberries, put on tray then package them up. Used them in blueberries muffins or loaf bread.
Frozen blueberries and frozen sliced peaches mixed together while frozen. Great on the table, especially in a glass bowl. Set them out early and they thaw beautifully.
I used to do that but now I just band them on the counter and they break apart really well.
A quick bang on the counter breaks apart really well
Sarah, so proud of you for ditching the Diet Coke this month.
That's a great idea! I'm going to have to try that for my kids.
I'm curious to try this, can I ask what your favourite flavors are?
@@robynhayward Of course. We like he Red Raspberry, Mixed Berry, Blueberry, Peach, and Lemon. Sometimes I mix certain flavors together. Ex. Peach/Raspberry. Aka Peach Melba.
@@johannagarcelon9240 awesome I'll try some, thanks 😊
@@robynhayward Robyn, I also like to add some Newman’s Limeade to the glass of tea.❤️❤️❤️
Caught you just in time for relax time ❤❤❤
So happy to have your channel !!
God bless you all 🙌🏽🤍🪽
I feel the same way 😊❤
Costco also has business stores that specifically supply commercial endeavors but any Costco members can use them.
Blueberries freeze great place on a single layer when frozen place in ziplock bags, great for muffins. Pancakes. You can make syrup with sugar.
This one was CHAOTIC 😅 I love it lol. This is what it's like when I get home with groceries. Bless your sweet fam ❤
Haha real life!!
I absolutely love your videos. You are awesome and do a great job with your big family. They are the sweetest kids.
I so love your grocery hauls! Your channel was one of the first channels I subscribed to . Destiny was a small baby back then. Watching the children grow and seeing all the adventures and amazing life events has truly been a blessing. You're doing an amazing job! God bless you all.
I freeze blueberries and just put them in freezer bag and in freezer.
They freeze really well without needing to do anything :)
I recently got a freeze dryer and love it so much...!
Such a nice treat to end the day with a video. It helped end a cruddy day on a high note!
Deborah welcome to Florida!!

Sarah you cracked me up with the chip thing! You have a fantastic family!! Totally relatable!!

Great haul. I think you do an amazing job taking care of those sweet babies. Love your sweet family.
I have 5 boys! So pretty big family. Soo I love these lol there’s a view things you have gotten me to throw into my meal rotations
The way I preserve blueberries is by washing them, dry somewhat on paper towels, then freezing them in a single layer on cookie sheets. I then put them in freezer bags - ready to eat or cook with. They last a very long time in the freezer. We make smoothies with a lot of frozen fruit.
I love your balanced approach. That is much healthier than stressing about how to buy everything organic and stressing about busting your budget.
You truly are the greatest mom ever❤and so encouraging to me to follow better and more.

I fast freeze blueberries on cookie sheets. Then I bag them and return them to the freezer. That’s it. Easy peasy.
of all the things you have...you NEED a couple apple trees..maybe some pears and plums as well, red raspberries grow well in the area as well
And I love hearing Peace’s little voice
Blueberries - no need to poke a hole if you freeze. I love to can them in light syrup as well and I put it on my yogurt and granola... so so good!!
When you buy avocados, pop them into a container of water. They stop the process of aging. Not even sure how it works, but it does 🙌🏽
Sarah is so organized, and she's really patient with everything she does!!!
That is so kind. ☺️
If you have space in the freezer, then you can freeze them on a tray and then put them in bags.
Hello Sarah. 🙂 Great Grocery Haul 👍🏻 Blessings and have a Great Week Sarah and Beautiful Family. 🙏❤🌻🌷
In bed fighting a stomach bug, and yet I’m smiling while watching you guys! Thanks for sharing!
You did it! I’m so inspired by you & your family! Blessing to each of you 🩷
I think it’s great that you’re teaching your kids to eat healthy. No one is perfect and it’s ok to eat unhealthy on occasion. It’s so important to watch what goes into your body though and it’s good your kids will learn this young.
Blueberry jam for sure ❤ blueberry muffins, blueberry pancakes, strudel oh goodness! Possibilities are endless! 🌸💜
That bag of chips is 7.99 here on the remote Pacific coast where I live. I love how you manage your family and the excitement in your life!
I’m late-but you can can whole blueberries!! Just fill a jar with them and top with water. Super simple and great to have on hand for baking without taking up freezer space. Can also dehydrate (no freeze dryer here) but you have to dip them in hot water to pop them first. Hope this helps!
Thank you Sarah for showing your food ❤
For the blue berries, you can freeze and use as icecubes, you can also meal prep blueberry muffins and pancakes
😊 when we go pick blueberries, we have them in abundance, we wash them, tgen let them slightly air dry and put them in freezer bags, they are delicious to just eat frozen in the summer or add to yogurt or ice cream..... also blueberry lemonade is delicious, just crush a handful or so in the lemonade. .... yummm
Thank you for sharing, I always ❤ all your vloggs!
No one's business what your choices are for food. You know what is best for your family and budget.
I love your grocery hauls. I'm always learning about new foods from you. I think you and your family are eating healthier than most.
You can wash and dry the blueberries then freeze. They make a good smoothie. You can add to muffin mix and use any way
Blueberry jam is my favorite and I make about every kind.
Your grocery hauls are my favorite !!! All your fresh fruit looks so good.I bought 2 Navel Oranges at .98 cents the other day !!! YIKES !!! YOu are a great Mama and a very very smart shopper..Love you guys !!! ❤❤❤
