I Played a lot of Fallout 3, New Vegas, and Fallout 4. I tried Fallout 1 and 2 as well, but it is just not my Thing. And yes i know this is a Sin in the Fallout Community. 😅
They are basically different games, even if the concept is the same. I am the opposite. I played 1 and 2 and the 3D Fallouts just wasn't my thing. It probably depends on what you played when you was kid.

I know it won't have the amazing feeling of obtaining the disc again and the beautiful box art but you can get Fallout 2 on steam for a really good price or you can get them in a bundle with 1, 2 and tactics for an also good price. Im sorry for the disc getting messed up.

i personally cannot understand how people think a point and click flash game is better than an immersive fps rpg, but im guessing its the same reason Baulders Gate 3 won GOTY
the person talking's animation is better some of the shit i see today damn. Her mouth actually forms the letter sounds and cheeks widen when her mouth does. Its like companies went from realism to pixel density with their animations lol
My first introduction to Bethesda was recieving Oblivion for Christmas in 2010, and not long after being introduced to Fallout 3. While Fallout 3 looks substanstially better than this, I just want to point out this game looks AMAZING for 1998, it honestly looks like it could still hold up even today. Edit: I have played TES: Arena and Daggerfall, and the mechanics are horrible for modern gameplay. Those games simply just don't hold up, the controls and gameplay was rendered totally obsolete with the release of TES III: Morrowind. But Fallout 2 has such a different gameplay style from the newer ones, I think it can still stand the test of time maybe? I kinda wanna try it out now just to see.

You got to admit, the 2-D games started it and laid the foundation, and then a mix of Mad Max inspiration and Bethesda magic turned Fallout into its true potential

everytime i played this game i didn't understand how to go about it so i played with cheats destroying and fucking everything up in different ways but i loved playing it without knowing wtf i was doing LOL, but eventually getting a better understanding of the game, they should remaster this game

The first 2 games are fine I guess, but I really would not say that these are the absolute best that the grain mill had to offer. Me personally, I respect 1 and 2, but I like 3 and New Vegas more. And whose to say that they don't carry the same spirit as the originals? It's always been about a torn society trying to recover after a nuclear fallout, but massively failing because there are mutants and militias that want to rule the world and it's inhabitants. But as the old saying goes, to each his own. I respect it all, save for 76.
They lack the charm, NV at least has some of what made fallout 2's world-building solid. FO3 and FO4 are just bland in comparison. Fallout 3 was still a very nice game. I will never forget my first playthrough of that game when I convinced some children from Little Lamplight to step out of their cave and then slap save collars on them for caps.
