- e2: Looking at some of the comments I think I need to clarify things a bit:
Yes, this ISN'T LEGIT, because I played this unpatched on a modern CPU. I was young and didn't know better. Besides that, this isn't even a good run. It's a segmented speedrun and it's not optimized at all, there are mistakes all over the place. Also, I have no idea why I do what I do in the run, because I never even played FO2 in the first place.
So please, go watch better runs of FO2. Like Lee's one-handed one from AGDQ'13.

Blowing somebody up with big guns is one thing. Sticking plastic explosives in their pocket is another. Killing somebody with Super Stimpaks is apparently why FO2 is so loved.

Arcanum is the shit in sense of rpg and setting but the combat was so bad and unbalanced and wasnt funny at all. Combat in f 1&2 is a blast.

I bought this on steam instead of getting fallout 76. This is the best one.
If it's remake at least in 3/NV instead of this crappy isometric/turn based shit, I would play it.
TB games only work for Pokemon and similar fantasy games. NV style works perfectly for Fallout.

Unknownkiller00 If you happen to have a set of pliers you can use them on the wires on the wall in the south-east room. It will cut the power to the floor forever ;)

bumping up combat speed in settings could have saved you a lot of time.
I really enjoyed this speedrun. I like it how fast you did this in your own way. I don't often bother to watch speedruns, but with all the Fallout 4 stuff in the air I ended up here. I had to laugh at the pickpocketing and how you killed people with the C4 and stimpacks hehe.
The first RPG i completed. Thanks for bringing me back to my loved game from childhood.
Having just struggled horribly to beat Frank Horrigan (fucked up so I couldn't get Sgt. Granite to join me), seeing you beat him without even doing anything yourself made me laugh my ass off.
man ive been playing this game since it released. i've bought multiple copies over the years and probably have over 2k hours in this game. I never knew you could get the dudes at the end to join you. crazy good stuff man!
that was amazing. finished the game WITHOUT A SINGLE SHOT. that's why old fallousts are so great. try to do it in new games of the series

You have to use the BB gun at the start, and you have to kill the enemies in project purity. This run is amazing in that it doesn't attack anyone, the best it does is reverse pick pocket explosives, which you can do in any fallout, except in 3 you can't pickpocket hostile enemies and project purity is always hostile, there's no way to get grenades in their inventories.

Use companions. Also you can glitch out the vault as a baby to avoid the radroach

I've first bought NV but never finished it the first time I played it, and then I downloaded fallout 1, then 2, then I finished NV and bought the 3
And goddamnit I loved them all ! Fallout 1 made me understand how the game works, and I liked that goddamn ambience and difficulty so much ! I liked less fallout 2 , but Still, I loved that part too ! Fallout 3 was so goddamn cool, oh man :") And NV.... That's a serious piece of sweetness !

а зачем он ходил вначале влево-право по иконке сан-франциско прежде чем войти в город первый раз?
На карте время быстрее идёт, а ему нужно было так подгадать чтобы тригер про "Избрааанный.." отыграл когда он по танкеру уже бегал иначе квесты не откроются, вычитаем оттуда время на обновление инвентаря у вендора - получаем время когда ему нужно войти первый раз в город.
тоесть если раньше придти то квесты взять не получится7
It took me the whole month to play this part from the beginning to the end. I've also done a giant amount of things in the game... and here i see that someone made it even less than in 30 minutes.
this guy is a genius. i played this game for months and he finished it in 18 mins. damn son. 🎉

I miss that game.. I'm not a gamer really just gravitate to the ideas and a good story.. Exploring drifting through the wasteland... Wondering what was out there... fallout was so fun.

+Harpi Loller Yes, super stimpacks heal lots of hp immediately, but deal a slight bit of damage afterwards. 9hp if i remember. You can use lots of them on NPCs to kill them this way.

Nope he's just playing without the patch for travelling speed. It depended on your old CPU frequency (that was a popular way in the good old days, many games did that too). So back there you would travel slow due to slow CPU (as in patched version of Fallou 2 these days).
i have played fallout 1 and 2.... i have played fallout 3 and New vegas with all dlc...i have to say each game is special i like all of them it doesnt have to be in super graphics for a game to be good.video games evolve which is good. on the other hand playing old ones nowdays doesnt mean we are stuck or anything like this. Ty

Awesome man, I never finished this game despite playing many many hours. All my chars ended up as homicidal maniacs, wandering from town to town, equipped with a robe, a flamethrower, a laser rifle and an addiction to Psycho - Just killing everyone ;)

I loved all Fallouts, from the first one to New Vegas. All of them had their own kind of charm, usually the music and the world, indoors/outdoors, gave me a feeling of desolation,despair.danger and hope.

+Josh Willey you should be able to run f1 & f2 on a smartphone. Try to use a dos simulator or something.
In hubology base you need to use 2 psycho before talking to AHS-9. He will then set up the tanker for you so you don't need to fix it yourself !!

If you're stupid enough, the Hubologists fix the tanker for you. Hence the reason he took all that psycho to lower his intelligence.
Those of us who loved Fallout 1/2 absolutely hated Fallout 3 and loved New Vegas.
Bethesda alienated old fans by making a very different, more shallow game that got them rich.
suejak1 Fallout 3 was also good and FNV had a more of bugs than F3. I played all parts of Fallout franchise.
Dawid Warszawski Fallout 3 was god awful, and FNV only had bugs on consoles.
Fallout NV could have been better, but Bethesda rushed Obsidian, likely to make them look bad.

3 was dull and irritating to play through more than once, and 4 somehow proved that a game could be repetitive and annoying with just one play through, let alone the 5 times i played it.

Duc Daica use the 2 Psychos to lower your Intelligence (reload if you get addicted), then talk to AHS-9. He will reward you with filling up the tanker and setting it up so it's ready to go, due to your low Intelligencei

4:25 this is what I did! I put dynamite in his pocket. It blow up in his pocket and mine. Stole all of his armor and got the T-51 for myself. And got his money.

It's a bug with modern computers. The map screen has no random encounters and is sped up.
This should be taken into account as it is not a pure speed run of the game.

Sandy McTire I ment - It's a bug with unpatched games of course. But early versions (i had one) was pretty fast on the map. They later patched this to match Fallout 1 lvl
am I missing the part where you had to grab a FOB from Navarro to get to the enclave.

navarro is easy though, find the lockpick set near raul wait an hour in the basement and tell the guard the cleaning crew is here, wait if it doesnt let you then use lock pick on the first locker but dont forget to sneak

Rigor Mortis No shit sherlock but he's edited his run because there is a movie when you open the door to the jumpsuit. That's not a legit speedrun. He also never had a random encounter on the map from Arroyo to San Fran which tells me he either edited them out or has something turned on stopping maybe actually ask next time kiddo instead of just assuming i'm trolling.
There are no random encounters because of two reasons. 1) travelspeed is bound to cpu speed. The faster the cpu, the faster you travel and less time traveling means less encounters. 2) This is a segmented speedrun, meaning I divided the run into seperate parts and played each part as often as I deemed necessary until I was satisfied with it.
Btw I already wrote in the desc. that this run isn't legit. You should read it next time.

Fallout 3 is such a shit, vegas is a bit better but still sucks. I wish they made 4th an rpg and paid attention to the quests and dialogs. not to shoting mutants and ghouls every fucking where you go

I remember my neighbors had this game and I thought it was so fucking sick at the time when it came out.
I don't understand why are fo1/2 fans hating on fo3 and Betheshda. The company was going bankrupt anyway if not Bethesda this game and all ideas would have died in 90's. I understand that people dislike that it changed it's style but... It's not your game. Everyone's acting selfishly and pretending as if it's their own creation or something. Thanks to Fo3 millions of people found out about the series and the lore, but of course, to some dudes in their 40's it's an insult that people can enjoy a different version of their loved game. Oh, and all the bullshit about "fo3 for low IQ"... If you are saying things like that I would assume that you yourself are not the brightest star in the sky. Just chill people and play Wasteland 2 or something.

I see it as Fallout 1 had the best story, Fallout 2 had the best exploration, Fallout 3 had exploration but crappy story, Fallout New Vegas kinda had Exploration and had a good plot. I still prefer Fallout 2 to all of them, but I like them all
I loved the story in FO3, it really drew me in, but the main quest was too short. I LOVED the original Fallout games, but at this point they offer little beyond nostalgia. New Vegas felt like someone had dumped a truckload of new features onto a thimbleful of plot.

Since you obviously have not played this game, you are judging the game based on a single video, a speed run video at that. I almost guarantee you wouldn't say it was shit if it was a 3d, first/thirdperson game like the newer ones. Go play the game before you judge it and make yourself look like a fool.

But, as someone said, you could change those combat settings to make it faster, and use your keyboard! 'M' changes your mouse (action, move, etc), 1-8 - your skills, and when stealing, press 'enter' to close the window (may save some time, instead of moving your mouse. Oh, and when on a city square on the world map, press 'T' to open the city menu!! I guess this could save you some time!!

Don't get me wrong here... Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are great games, but they really wouldn't be anything without the first two, Fallout and Fallout 2. I've played them all, and they all are fucking awesome. *Drunk Post*

you have to use the outdoorsman skill. it allows you to skip random encounters, most of the time
Like other pple explains in the coments, its a bug with new PC and the player didnt patch it to exploit it in is how benefit.

Very impressive but I dont quite understand why he used 2 plastic explosives at a time, does 1 not do enough damage? Also at SF when he walked around a lot, was there a reason behind that? Good speedrun otherwise, only bug is the no random encounter one.
