Well, the finance meeting and the bottle mixer toy lorry on table tells me they have finally secured the purchase of their own batching plant. Having worked in concrete industry for past 20 years I wish you all the best. It’s a massive responsibility to take on. Plant breaks down and you’re liable to rip out and dispose of the concrete pour that you couldn’t finish. Seen many companies go bankrupt because of this alone. My advice, keep the batching plant as separate business to rest of Ashville so that it doesn’t destroy the whole lot when things go wrong, because things will 1000% go wrong. Best of luck to you and all your team.
Daniel has an old head on young (rebuilt) shoulders. I recently sold my business and I couldn’t understand why I had no pleasure when the deal went through. Daniel explained it perfectly- all the joy was drained away by the process and also the greed of the new owner. It could easily make me a bitter man and it still depresses me. It’s a fine balance when owning a business but no amount of money or status (which IMO is a truly vulgar human trait)can buy you time. Thanks for sharing and allowing me to write this - even if nobody reads it- this video touched me.

Daniel, you have NO email security on your domain. Tell your IT company to enable DMARC, as soon as possible. It will massively reduce those realistic spoof emails. It’s an industry standard, completely free, and they can do it in an hour (I work in IT security)
He has DMARC on all their domains except Plant hire, its just not in reject or quarantine, so is kind of useless if that is what you meant, but it still doesn't stop staff impersonation which is that issue. That is only achieved by comparing incoming "from" headers to the internal staff list, and that is not always possible in some spam filters. Just needs to pay Microsoft for higher level spam filtering and it has that degree of impersonation checking.
@@NotTheRealRyanp=none is basically doing nothing as you say. Just needs setting to Reject if they are confident no third parties are legitimately sending on their behalf. Create a new transport rule that drops anything inbound from their domains that fail DMARC. And as someone else mentions, add a disclaimer for all inbound email. Both of those should stop 99% of spoof email and make the other 1% easy to spot. And increase SCL as you say. Daniel hire us for an hour 😂
I totally agree. The IT company should sort this out. Also, staff training is essential to think twice. Mimecast, Barracuda et al would also help. Sorry, just finished work and not got time to go through all of the Ashworth domains to check what's already in place. Maybe tomorrow
As big as Ashworth have got, a lot of building/construction companies stick with their original IT company who may not have security on their mind. I have a lot of friends in the industry who I try to help out but they think that their web designer is there IT expert (no offence Daniel if you have already got people to sort out your security). Being a leader is quite a solitary responsibility sometimes, and it can cause you to have a lot of inward reflection such as when you’re in the car. The key thing that I’ve found is have regular things to look forward to that you enjoy such as holidays, events or track days which I enjoy, this allows you to refill your glass.also having a coach brings a lot of value when you can just download to them and say how you’re feeling and they can help you through it because they’ve been through it as well. Daniel. It was good to say in a good way that you’re going through trouble and problems yourself as I’m sure a lot of people on this channel are all going through problems and situations their self and don’t know which way to turn. We are all human at the end of the day . I’m sure there’s men and women who watch your videos who feel in the same position you wake up in the morning and you don’t feel very good and feel low and the list is growing and growing, and you don’t know what to tackle First but you say you have to work your way through it and you’ll get there in the end

I wonder if the 5 years of waiting was for either the Concrete Mixing Plant or buying the land the business is on or if he is starting to lease the plot behind Ashville where the Olympic containers are to grow the business further?
Spent the past couple of months binge watching from the start, wish I’d of discovered this channel when it began, just watch episode 100, I work in transport as a driver development manager and found parts of my job very difficult but have learned a lot from the big man and Terry, I love Dan’s work ethic, I’d fell into a low point after working long hours and used this as an excuse not to keep fit but Daniel works way more hours than most and still looks after himself, really inspiring and often funny videos, Daniel and Terry’s relationship is brilliant, Credit to the whole team including those in the construction side, looking forward to the next 100 episodes 😊
What can I say I am not surprised you got it, as your SERIOUS! But in all seriousness you are a true inspiration to many people including myself ❤ Have a great week Ashville Family ❤
As a entrepreneurs, I won't lie the 'complaining' is so authentic, its like someone understands the hardships. I laughed but so happy for Ashville and Daniel when he got the big deal then said something bad happens when something good comes 😂
At your level you have the resources to hire an executive assistant. Since you're growing new ventures for your business you need to be hands on for those ventures to succeed so you cant delegate to hired roles. But an executive assistant or deputy would go a long way to alleviating the volume of minor tasks allowing you to focus on tbe more important stuff.
Dan, business is like a sport, it's a beginning middle and end, also you have rounds and quarters and quarters to the quarters. Although it may seem as if you're not making progress but you are. It may be hard the first few rounds or quarters, but you take a break to gather yourself and get your second wind and come back powerful and strong and knock it out in the next few rounds and quarters. We have to congratulate ourselves at every step because it's an accomplishment, you could have quit but you didn't. Daniel you should be very proud of what you have achieved to date. Working for yourself isn't just a 9 to 5 routine. Like you said you are continuing to keep your eyes on the present and the future. Risk and reward management. Continuous improvement. Customer and suppliers feedback. I like to think you know what you want and can do with Ashville, and what other areas of growth you can create. All the best to you and your team.
Well one of two things, either a new location more space better stability or the batching plant clearance or both cuz that's a top tier for me Edit: there's a possibility of also getting the deed for the land on which Asheville thrive on , also the way tezza move its like that's the signal, also key word "messing around in it like we usually do, the plan haven't changed"
Right with you Daniel - when you live 'over the shop' (I'm a farmer) and have your name on the overdraft, its not 9-5, its not even 5-9, its 24/7. The key for me is not to stress about things you cannot control (like the weather) and deal with small problems before they become big ones. And sometimes, bray on rewardless!
Daniel, On the scam emails, could you get your IT team to change your email settings so that when it’s an external sender, it shows this in the subject line? That way when the finance team get an email from outside of the team, it shows this as being external
Daniel, I've been running my business in the US for 22 years, and I couldn't agree more with your commentary at the end of the video; it is so on point with what I'm dealing with now. The concerns of the business never go away and are always with you. A friend, Gary Vaynerchuk, refers to running a business as Clouds and Dirt. You must spend time in the Dirt to enjoy your time in the Clouds. I keep it in mind when it feels like we are only moving an inch at a time, like right now. We are definitely in the dirt and plowing new fields. As always, Thanks for reminding all of us business owners that we aren't the only ones battling every day to make things better for our clients, staff, and, ultimately, our families. That we aren't alone.
I scene the stress on your shoulders and in your head in most of your video’s. As a business owner I feel so much of your anguish but I’m fortunate in the fact I have my wife as a business partner to split the load. Our business is notably small too. I got thrust rated a while beck because we couldn’t rely on people to do the right thing when we needed a holiday, my mother (who works with us part time) would say “just go and turn your phones off” !!!! Such a simple thing to say but an impossible thing to do. Good luck.
Not sure if you read the comments but as a business owner it’s reassuring that even someone running a company your size still has the bad days. For the new revenue stream well done I know your lads didn’t act as expected but you’ve done it and you deserve the credit.
7:20 I recommed you have office staff take cybersecurity especially phishing training once a year, that's something your IT partner should be able to help with. The attackers are clearly targeting your company and they will continue to attempt access using different techniques.
Having a small electrical business in an , unfortunately , so called 3rd EU country. Watching every episode of Ashville Weekly for inspiration. When i see you’re friday mood, I feel even more motivated, because I understand that it’s all right to feel like this sometimes, even the best of us have difficult days, but they manage to move forward every time and solve their problems. That’s what every episode of yours is telling me : that no matter how hard it is, I have o carry on, and eventually the success will come. Thank you mate , you carry on, because if you can inspire so many people, I’m sure you can cope and solve the tiredness, all the problems and succeed! Best wishes!
Bad days help us appreciate the good days. I personally can not wait to find out what the deal is that has taken 5 years to get across the line!! Whatever it is I am sure it will be a success.
I think the good news is that he has bought the yard, he said in a previous video that he rents it. So buying the yard would be game changing for the business going forward.
He’s secured a new yard, got space for a batching plant, all his plant and possibly a dock. He’s been wanting that for years. He will concrete the whole lot which will make him well happy. Congrats
Kudos to you Daniel. It is difficult to admit that you are having a bad day and hopefully work by other construction industry champions such as The B1M have already spoken about this and the impact on mental health. I hope you are feeling better soon. I will look forward to seeing all the stand alone videos you are talking about and hearing of the good news you discussed without sharing details at the start of the video. With the extra office space you have acquired and the forthcoming work with the ex London 2012 Olympic / Paralympic Games media suits I look forward to seeing the continued success at Ashville. Have you considered using container shells like the Olympic offices appear to be based on for the expansion of your office and support services (kitchens, rest rooms, break rooms, training spaces) into one administrative complex where you can go between rooms without worrying about the weather? If you do this I am sure that you could utilise some of the existing containers on jobs or even as site office hire units.
Hi Danial. The highs and lows of being a successful business owner. If anyone can recover and move on it’s you. Love the rant though as you were passing the old Hoover factory in Greenford. Who has that building now? I remember an episode of POROIT being filmed there. I was back in Ealing last July. Cracking time, loved living there in the late 80s. 🏴🇺🇸
Completely understand the stress you're going through, owning a business having to take multiple responsibilities at the same time must be incredibly stressfull. I haven't had the chance to take such responsibilities but I always have this thought that yes as a worker it might be physically stressfull when doing hard work but sortly we recover from it all, but the boss is the one taking all the mental stress that lingers and may I say "haunt" the mind for a long time and that can make you loose your stance a lot of the times, you have to make sure everyone is not getting harmed during work while at the same time having to look at numbers, look at emails, take stressfull calls and solve problems. I hear a lot of people say that the big boss of a business is having the best time of their lives but that is just not true, while workers can have a quiet vacation in the summer, the boss is getting contacted all the time during vacation. I just want to say that you're a real fighter Daniel! Keep up the incredible work!
When lifting those houses, if u use 2x4 as spreaderbar, u wont damage the sides with the chains. 2 of em is enough just lay em on the roof and make cut-outs for the chain at the ends, longer straps also rly helps but as ur company works in aggregates and not much lifting i guess that works ;p
you should deffinatly get konstantine to advise on the video creation offices and even get him to do your one with your team - could produce videos on both sides and you would get the advice of somebody who has a background on youtube in renovating offices and producing high quality videography
Still waiting on the 1st upload on the personal channel. I know that you probably want it to be epic, but most of us don't need a James Cameron blockbuster. Some of us were happy watching you walk to work for like 3 hours+. Honestly I'm just looking for mid-week Ashville 😊.

As far as voice booths go I've used it for many years, and many voiceovers, an upside down plastic washing basket with sound deadening foam inside and outside I simply drop it over my mic. It creates an almost totally soundproof area around my nice Neumann microphone and I'm able to do all my voiceovers. For RUclips, audio books and many more audio. I can't do a pic but give it a go. Come back and I'll try and upload a pic!

I think the good news is that he has bought the yard, he said in a previous video that he rents it. So buying the yard would be game changing for the business going forward.
I was about to post the same comment plus it now makes sense about the Olympic offices big restructure about to happen ❤🙏
Well done for what ever your achievement is 😊
Well all have these days in business please keep sharing as helps us all to know even best struggle 💔❤️
13:20 are you talking about getting fuel for trains in the yard 🎉😊
He’s secured a new yard, got space for a batching plant, all his plant and possibly a dock. He’s been wanting that for years.
He will concrete the whole lot which will make him well happy. Congrats
Thank you. Thank you for showing your not so good days and keeping it real. Talking helps. As Tom Hank’s says “this to shall pass”
Thanks Daniel
Well done on your accomplishments always Daniel, LETS GROW ASHVILLE!!!❤
Dude i feel for you, my words to a close person to me this morning was, I'm struggling with people because everyone is running away from the battle
Appreciate the honesty about bad days
Big Up Daniel ,You're the man😎
14:09 finally👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾if you know you know
VAT is finally back!!!
Well done 🎉
Please don't stop Ashville weekly
The more I listen to your journey Daniel,
I feel very privileged.
Been watching ashville for years now but when i was in london last week i saw a ashville trailer made it all alittle bit more real😅
Quality session as usual Daniel, keep up the good work 👏
10:37 'notoriety'.. that would be notary.

💪Congrats on the good news Daniel
Hello all from the UK. Looking forward to a very interesting video from Daniel and the team.
Fair play to u dan you have great go in you hope u get bigger and bigger your a brillant person
Keep going forward mate stay strong 💪
Good evening from Australia. I bet the new deal is a bigger and better property/ yard.
Enjoyed your vlog 😊 nice
Good day from Trinidad and Tobago
When lifting those houses, if u use 2x4 as spreaderbar, u wont damage the sides with the chains. 2 of em is enough just lay em on the roof and make cut-outs for the chain at the ends, longer straps also rly helps but as ur company works in aggregates and not much lifting i guess that works ;p
you should deffinatly get konstantine to advise on the video creation offices and even get him to do your one with your team - could produce videos on both sides and you would get the advice of somebody who has a background on youtube in renovating offices and producing high quality videography
Daniel you watch gold rush they have a digger coverted in to a conveyor belt might be easyier the the front loader to fill the bays
Excellent as usual, thanks, stay positive and keep going 🎉🎉🎉
Still waiting on the 1st upload on the personal channel. I know that you probably want it to be epic, but most of us don't need a James Cameron blockbuster. Some of us were happy watching you walk to work for like 3 hours+. Honestly I'm just looking for mid-week Ashville 😊.
We are working very hard to bringing you more videos on the Ashville channel and videos on Daniels personal channel. 👊 Thanks for your patience.
Morning from Malawi... keep on pushing man
Have you brought the yard you’re currently renting ?
Ambition is a a poison chalice. The constant need to do better, keep going, keep searching for that self recognition. The mirror always wins have a look in it
As far as voice booths go I've used it for many years, and many voiceovers, an upside down plastic washing basket with sound deadening foam inside and outside
I simply drop it over my mic.
It creates an almost totally soundproof area around my nice Neumann microphone and I'm able to do all my voiceovers.
For RUclips, audio books and many more audio.
I can't do a pic but give it a go. Come back and I'll try and upload a pic!

Get a couple of 4.5 cube drum wagons for smaller jobs like patterned concrete firms and the rest 7/8 cube for the big jobs.
Good luck to whatever it is you done hope you absolutely smash it 💪 AINT NO QUITTING JUST PUSHING ON 💪 AND TAKING OVER 🙏 TERRYS LAUGH GETS ME SOUNDS LIKE MUTLEY LOL
Wonder if 14:19 is where he got told about the yard?
Flap delete will sort out the Amaroks. Probably doing London miles. 20mph limits and not enough motorway mileage or heat cycles.
Batch plant we need one up north 😊
“It’s done”
Excited to see what is to come!!
I think he has bought the yard, he has mentioned previously that he rents it currently.
Could be but why would the yard owner sell an asset when they can rent it out ?
Ash my great beautiful spirit friend were is you super lady as you do so much hard work & it might be more bearable given balance ie a nice supportive lady 😊❤❤
Awesome news whatever it is 👍👍👍
