mon frère, as always, this episode was simply excellent. You taught us all more about the amazing legend of Zino both his professional life and that of his person. I feel he was such a romantic about his passions for the cigar world and life in general. as to your style and grace of reporting on all things Habanos, I must commend you on the wonderful body of work you have given us and look forward to many man more years of your hard work. Thanks, David R J Couture Sr.
My introduction to Cuban Davidoffs was the Chabrol film "Masques" (1987), which featured the great Philippe Noiret, who happened to be an aficionado and regular at Zino's shop in Geneva. Noiret's character is a bon-vivant TV personality who keeps a cabinet of Davidoff Château Mouton-Rothschild under lock and key in his sumptuous study. The ritual opening of the cabinet and lighting of the cigars started my love affair with Davidoff cigars at the tender age of 27 and I've been a devotee of the brand ever since. To this day, I still yearn for a Château Margaux (mareva) after a late breakfast on Saturdays.
Thank you very much Sir for the comment. I miss Philippe Noiret’s presence on French media. His voice and personality and indeed his appreciation for a good life and Davidoff cigars.
Thank you for taking the time in creating this video. It has been very interesting and insightful; a pleasure to watch. I can't recall the cuban brands that Zino personally vouched for was it El Rey Del Mundo and one another brand?
@@habanonews I am certain he referenced two brands, one of which was El Rey Del Mundo. It might have been in the book, The Connoisseur's Book of the Cigar by Zino Davidoff I will have to check.
Beautiful, informative and enjoyable video, thank you
Thank you your highness!

Very enjoyable 30 minutes - A great history lesson!
I realise that as time passes we forget a lot indeed. It is always good to go back to history!
The story about the 2 million Cuban cigars in Paris and the German invasion was fascinating.
