    Very glad I came across your channel. I’m getting ready to purchase a home brew kit and was considering this product. Big fan of Northern Brewer.

    Thanks for the review video. One suggestion (didn't see it mentioned) is to sanitize the ball valve port and silicone transfer tube prior to running chilled wort through it.

    My Gigawort was just delivered a few days ago. I also purchased the copper immersion kit. It was time to move from the stove in the kitchen to this. I watch both your videos and ready to brew. I'll be doing APA ingredient kit to start out with. Will let you know how it goes, especially if I have temperature issues.

    I noticed I seem to get the E4 error code the past couple of times I've use this. I think it's due to the brew bag resting on the bottom. So I added a false bottom to this, so now the bag rests on top of that and isn't directly on the heating coils and now longer getting error code. Thanks for the video, I had bought one of these after seeing it in use, pretty simple to use.

    I know this is an old video so you may not see it, but I am curious 2 years later, did you ever resolve the temperature issue you noticed in the video and do you still generally have good results from it?

    What size is your hose to transfer from the gigawort to the carboy? 3/8"? Or 1/2"??

    What size BIAB are you using. And can I do a 5 gallon all grain. Still new to brewing. I’ve used the gigawort for 1 gallon extract but would like to go bigger.

    I just got one of these as a gift and I am so excited! I normally do 1-2 gallon all grain BIAB. Any tips or advice since you have experience with it, or should I just dive right in the same way I normally do BIAB? Glad to see your temp issues were resolved. I may run some hot water tests in it first just to "warm it up." I'd love to see you make more videos using this unit, especially if it works well. Seems very convenient and fun to use for small batches. Cheers!
    EDIT: Also, I am wondering if your temp issues were related to the bad/grain/etc sitting on the bottom of the pot. I haven't used mine yet, but I plan to grab a round cooling rack to rest on the bottom, so that the bag sits above the heating elements and temperature probe. I've seen others mention this online.

      Its a great little system. We have brewed about a dozen batches with it since getting it, including some back to back brew sessions which in my option shows the robustness of the unit.
      In regards to advice, I would just say dive right in. It wouldn't hurt to run a water test with it to get a good profile for it into BeerSmith or whatever brewing software you are using. We found that we had to adjust our boil off rate a few times to get it correct.
      I'd be happy to do another video on it, is there anything in particular you would like to see focus on?

    Enjoyed your video. I thought it was well done! When you used the BIAB bag, did you let it rest on the bottom or kept it off somehow?

      Thanks for the comment! So when we did our first few batches we did allow the bag to rest on the bottom, and after having issues with the temp probe, we started to lift it up off the bottom a bit. We did this by folding the bag over the edge and using a bungee to hold it in place. I plan on posting an update video on this soon as we have now brewed about a dozen batches with it.

    Thanks for the video !!! I want start to brew 1 gallon test batches, do you think this brewer is a good option? I have the 10.6 Gallon Anvil Foundry for regular 5 gallon batches and I love it.

    • @brewersanonymous3391
      @brewersanonymous3391  4 года назад +1

      Yes! This system is perfect for that. I found that 2.5 gallons is the perfect batch size, but there is no reason why a smaller batch wouldn’t work. Let us know how you like it!

      I couldn't figure out why it was off. But I have brewed with it three times since, and it has been great. At most it would be only a degree or two off, and I can live with that.
