davesimpson.bandcamp.com/trac... This song is for my Grandma who was a huge part of my life and always will be and I miss her everyday. I hope you like this. :)
This could easily be Dave's signature song. So much emotion and his unique style wrapped up in this one. I know he has his reasons for not playing it anymore. But I tell you, people need to hear this masterpiece. The beautiful melody that then lends itself into the soaring solo towards the end is so amazing and emotionally powerful. I don't know how many times I have listened to this song and it always moves me. This is Dave Simpson at his best!! Cheers Dave! 🍻🤘🎸💣 I think I will listen to it again.. and again...and keep trying to learn how to play it. 😉
@@thedavesimpson Yea Dave I know how ya feel. I miss my Grandma and grandpa more than anything in this world. If not for the hope that I will see them both again someday in Heaven I wouldn't be able to cope at all. Both were angels in this world and both loved God. and with a sociopath mother and a step-father who never really accepted me like as his son, it was my Grandparents who filled that black hole within my heart. Rock-on Dave! I know how you feel!
God bless you and you granny, man. My granny is my reference of love in this life and i know how you feel., and she left us one day before the lockdown at the age 99. God bless our Peter Green as well.
Sometimes when your tired of running and hiding from yourself taking a moment and listening to this pushes me along, somehow even with no words makes me feel like it’s gonna work out ok, to be able to craft something so moving with no lyrics, now that’s art, that’s music. I love this song.
I’ve commented on this song before but I feel it deserves reiteration. This is the most articulate depiction of pain, loss, sorrow and joy that I have, and think I ever will have, heard. Beautiful Dave. I know that that this was not meant for any of us but I think it has conveyed an emotion that so many of your viewers can relate to and that is to your credit, it’s the essence of music!
One of the things that I absolutely love about your playing, is your innate talent to translates emotion from your heart and mind, through a guitar, in a way your listener can immediately feel. It can be something so hard to describe, but we see it every once in a while in say an art gallery, there's a painting that may otherwise seem simple (a blue square that fades from top to bottom), but somwhow makes every person who comes across it stop, and feel precisely what the painter felt at the time. I count myself as incredibly lucky to have found you and your music, Dave, and my ears do too.
I just stumbled across this after watching you relic a guitar. You played a little at the end of the video and it sound really good, so I figured I'd try this one. This is absolutely... beautiful! Thank you for sharing this.
Walking my dog in the middle of nowhere and watching the sun set, listening to this, I feel so peaceful, thank you Dave. I feel inspired to compose something for the first time in +10 years. 👌
This song is just overwhelming and beautiful, it´s pure emotion! It´s also proof that you developed your own style. Thank you so much for sharing and keep going!
New subscriber after watching your Andertons interview..... You just made me cry WOW!!! This overwhelming piece is felt on so many levels thank you Brother...
Man, I have just listened to you for the first time with this song, and let me tell you that you're amazing. You don't even need words to transmit what you feel. One of my favorite artists now. Love from Colombia.
your such a rare wonderful human being dave, she must have been incredibly proud of you, even without your insanely grand musical skill, by the way, that was beautiful man,🙏👏👏👏😉
Amazing Dave. I hear parts that brings all my favorites to mind. Gilmore, Frusciante, Green, etc. You are a master of the instrument. This communicates to my soul.
This is such a stunning composition. Truly beautiful work. That quiet, solemn breakdown into the triumphant exploding swell at 3:29 is phenomenal stuff.
She is experiencing this music more completely than we can imagine. Through sound, color, vibration, energy, and dimensions we we are yet to behold. And she is proud!
Mr Simpson why have idiots like me never heard of you or heard you play, this track is beautiful and very well played, in your playing I hear Gilmour, Green, with little bits of Blackmoor, but all molded by you into a wonderful sound thank you very much
Real nice, Dave. My GGM lived with us & passed in her 99th year. Born 1886, she was an orphan by 1896. Died with a family of 150-sumpin'. Most incredible person I have ever known.
I hope the right person hears this, a film producer perhaps. Such a touching piece of music. It grabs your attention like something invisible reaching out and touching your soul. Wherever your grandmother is, I hope she feels the energy of its emotion, Ethereal and beautiful. Well done.
Simply beautiful Dave. Such a wonderful tribute or dedication to a special person in your life. Be proud as I’m sure she would be. You are a masterful musician, a craftsman of sound...
What emotions..man 😢 I miss my mother and those I have lost ..I'm in a new chapter wichnhas been great but life is an unpredictable sort..idno but this is great
Dave I've just recently subscribed and found this gem of a song. I lost my grandad last year and this completely nailed every emotion and memory I have and will quite openly say it made me cry. I literally haven't found anything that has pulled on the heart strings as much as this. I am sorry for your loss and you have done something special in this song.
Goosebumps, as an artist and as a person youve made a real contribution to this world for many people.. never forget that. You deserve the best my friend
Welling up mate . 😪. One of the most beautiful soul felt tunes I've ever heard. Actually did make a few tears fall . Your gran would of been so incredibly proud of you bud . Massive respect to you man. You are one of my guitar heroes.
Love you dave you're the best man! We all love you! Thank you for uploading regularly and teaching us and entertaining us it means the world to me and everyone who is subscribed I'm sure.
Hi Dave! Found you. I can heavily relate. The day she died, I knew my life will be moving towards darkness for a long time. It is still now, but I have learnt to fight back.
Wow... this just moved me to tears man, you're a truly soulful musician and an inspiration to many, myself included. Your grandma will live forever in you and in this song. Love you man, stay strong, and if you're ever in Paris, I'd love to say all of those things to your face :)
When my mom died 5 months ago (as of this day, it's the last week of October 2023), I was so crushed and couldn't believe that the person who love me for my entire life(45yrs) will NEVER BE THERE with me on this Earth.. BEcause of this extreme sadness.. one morning when I was about to wake up, I am hearing a melody on my mid which is sad but comforting.. similar to this music's vibe (but not exactly). I'm not a musician.. so I am pretty sure it didn't come out from any music ideas from my mind.. it just popped in to my mind because of the extreme sadness I was feeling.. I just love playing guitars and music and I don't every write music.. but this melody popped up into my mind due to my sadness and longing for my mom. Too bad I did not recorded that melody and I forgot about it.. (because I HAVE TO WORK.. yes WORK Gets in the way of life.. that's why I always HATED work.. but I have to.) but I remember the feeling and experience.. hopefully when I pass away maybe I will hear that melody again and see my mom again.
It reminds me of my mom 's father and her brother who passed away within few months in few years ago. Life does fade , their memories will stay in someone's memories forever.
Dave, I've loved some of your improvs before, but this one is just a masterclass in how to compose a guitar instrumental. Tone, emotion, touch, phrasing - and the end to end flow of it. I want to put it on repeat. I don't listen to it as much as I want to, I just grab a random little piece and then try to bring it into my psyche in my own practice. You are an inspiration.
Thats the most touching song I have ever heard. I can really hear the feelings and they are coming directly from your heart. You are such an amazing and inspiring guitarist. Love you
What an amazing composition, just awesome! Thanks for putting this online, saved to playlist. I miss my Gandma too man, she was such a huge part of my life and I was very close and fortunate to have her for so long, we all were...Nanny lived to 106 and was an amazing person and will forever be with me. 1906-2012
Great stuff Dave, so much more than just the sun of your influences, you’ve really brought your own style and your own story to this song and made us all feel something. For me that is the mark of a great musician. Never stop. ❤️
