I have a feeling Kevin Bacon has more than a few stories that would make his friends laugh at someone calling him a "grounded gentlemen." Could be, though. He's been with the same woman for years and doesn't seem to get into too much trouble.
Anything that Kevin Bacon is in, is always golden! Whether as the lead or as a supporting player, you can always get a great performance out of him! 😎👍🎉🎊
KEVIN B is seems like such a genuine, real person. He is obviously, well spoken, great conversationalist, relaxed guy with none of that "movie star" crap!!
A movie star that could just sit down at the bar and have a beer with. Seems so laid back, props to him. Really enjoy Kevin Bacons work as an actor. Still laugh at the previous true or false where at weddings he would pay the DJ 20 dollars to not play footloose.
My favorite Kevin Bacon film as a Marine is Taking Chance. In my opinion far better than A Few Good Men. Not as exciting but it shows the respect given to fallen Marines.
Glad to see someone posted this already. I was completely taken by surprise by both the film and Bacon's performance. His subtle, emotional arc was masterful.
Ron Howard was not even nominated for Best Director and he should have WON for Apollo 13!! No one had ever directed in zero-g before and he did it amazingly!
Three hugely veteran actors in those scenes, nothing against Howard, but how much did he actually have to direct them? I'd think the cinematographer would have the real challenge.
@@HandGrenadeDivision Veteran actors are directed all the time. Do you really think a veteran director doesn't actually direct a veteran actor? That's just nuts.
The popular name for the plane and plane ride into zero gravity was called "The Vomit Comet". Heard about it decades on decades ago when it was a training tool for astronauts.
My favorite movie of his has to be tremors. Maybe cause my pops loved it so much. That opening scene where he misses the nail I don’t know how many times had pops rolling. My second is prob the air up there. He has many great roles. But I like him in those movies.

A Few Good Men is my favorite Ken Bacon acting and role ever. He plays the oddballs and squirrels and kinda off-kilter or menacing types very well, but Few Good Men was his role & acting of all.
Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick are so sickeningly sweet that it's like having a hyperactive panic attack made of Sucrose?! I can't believe he made Footloose work he was so miscast but somehow still made it work. But my favourite Kevin Bacon movie was Murder in the First with Christian Slater. If you've never seen it, which not many did, it's really hard to watch but so worth it. Ultimately it's a fish out of water buddy movie in the most harsh environment possible. And Kevin was so good he even managed to get Christian Slater to actually attempt to act for the duration of a Movie.
I saw "Murder in the First" a number of years ago. If I remember the Movie- he played agaisnt type- a [person wrongly convicted serving a long Prison sentence who If I remember the Movie is so Traumatized by being in Prison and being burtalized in Prison that he goes insane and kills somone/ Kevin Bacon is cast against type becfause he plays a very weak, damaged character. Crhistian Slater is his Defense Attorney if I remember the Movie. I, personally liked him or really hated his character, but he did a good job playing an evil character in Wild Things where he played a Cop who at the end of the Movie- we learn is very corrupt and Evil.
I'm not so sure I agree with you that Kevin Bacon was miscast in "Footloose". I just re-watched the 2011 remake of "Footloose" starring Kenny Wormald. If Kevin Bacon was miscast, then Kenny Wormald was even more of a miscasting. Wormald delivered many of the same lines that Kevin Bacon did, and Wormald's performance was far worse, in my opinion.
LOL 7:35 I can't believe how casual he was accepting the fact that he and his wife are related to each other (cousins). 😅 I guess that when you're already onboard and super-invested in the trip you better enjoy the ride, huh? 😂
It's funny, in the interview he is recalling that he only ever played Marines in the movies, but I stumbled across WarGames, he's an Air Force Major, and in Apollo 13 he plays Jack Swigert, who was Air Force too. So many great roles, hard to keep track of them all! You're a lousy softball player Jack!.....Your boys are going down Danny!
What they actually found was that Kevin Bacon is related to everyone with at most a 6 generation separation. So we all can play 6 generations of Kevin Bacon.
Ron Howard said that he ran into Steven Spielberg later and Ron told him that he actually followed his suggestion and Spielberg does a double take and said 'I was just joking. You can't shoot a film like that.'
I think it should be pointed out Rod Stewart pursued a career as a professional Soccer player after being the captain of his high school soccer team. He actually got an apprenticeship at Brentford soccer club as a teenager but quit to pursue music.
I first saw Kevin Bacon as the doomed WASP Fenwick in Diner- he was so good and I'm not just saying that because I'm a Kev too. He's a good man married to a good woman- and it shouldn't matter to him that his father made cover of Time and he hasn't - yet. Having integrity in your work and relationships is the only legacy that means a damned thing.

I mean, they’re cousins nine or ten times removed or something, it’d be hard to know something like that unless your really knowledgeable about your own genealogy from a young age… but I do get the point tho, not a good look to say it as most people aren’t going to get that.
He said speed, not coke. And the aircraft is not free falling, its in parabolic arc maneuver. If you apply yourself just a little more, you could squeeze a 3rd falsehood in there.
9th cousins twice removed, which means one them is a grandchild of the other's 9th cousin. 9th cousins share one pair of great-great- great-great great-great great-great grandparents.
Rob Reiner, director of ‘A Few Good Men’, tells that story the opposite way round… according to the director, Jack Nicholson opted for the off camera shots to be taken first so he could practice, when they pointed the camera at him he got it in the first take and it was no different to his ‘off-camera’ performance… why has Kevin Bacon remembered it so differently ❓🤷🏻♂️
7:25 Once you get to about 3rd or 4th cousins there's damned few reinforceable negative genes in common~ the soup is rather thin by that point. It would be about the same as having 8 grandparents who were not knowingly related in any way, but had all been born in the same village.
Watch the final scene again. When Nicholson is at Cruise's desk yelling at him he is wearing a tie and when he turns around the tie is gone. Obviously, the edit crew missed that one.
