I love Billy Crystal. What an amazing career he has had. I could listen enraptured to his stories for weeks. So Interesting, funny, and entertaining!!! 🥰
Omg, I freaking love that movie. The chemistry between them is so natural. I’ve got a soft spot for City Slickers because reasons, but I revisit Running Scared more often. It’s a crime that they didn’t do more movies together.
Billy Crystal is one of the most beloved comedians and actors ever. When Harry Met Sally... , Throw Momma from the Train, and City Slickers are my personal favorite Billy movies.
Jack was always pretty good with the jokes at his expense. In fact, he loved the humor so much that he attended every Oscar show that billy ever hosted.
My family dragged me out to see The Titanic and when that dude hit the propellar and spun around like a cartwheel to the ocean? I burst out laughing. My whole family was embarassed that I laughed. Oscars came around and Billy did a Gilligan's Island bit where he mentioned "The propellar guy!" I turned around to my whole family and said "I TOLD YOU IT WAS FUNNY!"
LMAO, "warmth and engagement" is how you say 'oh wow she's so hot' because she doesn't do anything 'warm or engaging'. Funny as hell how duders bend over backwards to pretend she's 'so interesting' when she's just good-looking and laughs at stuff.
I remember having to stay up late to watch the Oscars in the UK as a kid, riding the volume to make sure I didn't wake up my parents but Billy always put on great opening skits and great one liners to actually make it entertaining
Suddenly the recent run of a list guests makes sense. I wonder how long Conan’s known he was gonna be hosting the Oscar’s. And I also wonder how many of them are getting pulled in to bits for it. I’m sure we’ll at least see Martin short make an appearance.
I suppose everyone feels that they "know" Nicholson via all of his fairly unhinged roles. But those are ROLES. Parts in ensemble productions. The real person is just like most anyone else, and fortunately, Jack's success wasn't a "ha ha, I'm awesome and you aren't" thing. If anything, he wanted everyone on a set to be a winner, to be loved by audiences, and for all productions to work out. I mean, have you SEEN Kevin Pollack's account of Jack for the trial scene in "A Few Good Men"? He said that Reiner, the cast, and the crew were literally speechless during his first take. And then, Jack calmly (CALMLY and quietly) asked Reiner if that was good enough, or if he wanted more, or something else! 😂🤣😂 Brilliant.
A favorite story of Billy's is about the day Marilyn Mantle, Mickey's wife came to visit the set of 61 at the old Tiger Stadium. She saw Thomas Jane, who was playing Mickey for the movie from the back with that bit number "7" on his back...and she fainted. Billy was so devoted to the details, its a great movie and only possible due to Billy Crystal and his love of baseball.
With a guy like Billy you could spend literal hours and days asking him questions and hearing amazing stories. Conan has to pick and choose as he can while letting the discussion naturally flow into directions billy wants to go as well. I was thinking the same thing as you though :) I hate to say im shocked at how good Conan is at this and bringing sona in is a true act of genius. I cant remember who it was but i love the time one of the guests got her special burst of true laughter and with perfect timing as the laugh subsided said 'i gotta get me a sona' and conan responded perfectly 'everyone needs a sona' and he meant it.
Another part of the problem is the market is saturated with 100s of films every year, and there’s so many to choose from. I may watch 10 new movies this year, and you may see 15 new movies this year, but we only saw one in common. Back in 1993, there were few dozen new theatrical films. If I saw Jurassic Park, most people did too. Also, the Oscars pick the most random or obscure films to promote and nominate. So, sometimes it feels like homework. I have to go find the 10 major films nominated and watch them before the awards ceremony. Or I won’t know what’s going on.
Billy Crystal is just naturally funny, He makes it seem like he is not even trying. He should still be in the movies. All the talentless hacks in Hollywood for the last twenty years are not half of what Billy is. Running Scared from 1986 Billy is a buddy cop movie with Billy and it is actually really underrated.
Seen Billy Crystals new show on Apple. Its not bad but for such a serious show, its been nice to see the odd joke thrown in. I have to think he wrote them or he adlibbed them as he has a unique style with his delivery and joke telling. Good to see him of late, more Billy Crystal please!
I try to remember someone`s most obscure work so that should I ever meet the person, I can say "Hey I know you from...." In Billy Crystal's case, it's Rabbit Test.
For anyone reading this, and you're a fan of Billy Crystal and never watched his Running Scared, please do. It's a hilarious buddy cop comedy with Gregory Hines. I highly recommend
There was some show that Billy Crystal hosted back in the 1980s and he had John Candy as a guest. Only John Candy was there as Orson Welles. It was hilarious. Candy pointed at some random guy and said "You there. It's your fault." Because "Orson" was complaining about something. 😂🤣 7-) d_efp
The sheer level of content has fractured the zeitgeist. Having more than three TV channels and a local theater and music store has given us so much choice that we don't need to care about awards shows anymore. The funniest part of entertainment award shows (Oscar, Emmy, Tony, etc.) is that at their core, they are identical to other industry awards like JD Power Best in Class Towing, Foodservice Dealer of the Year, or the Dow Packaging Innovation Awards. The *only* difference is that the former contains famous people that want it televised.

Hey guys! I thinking about starting my career. I love classic Hollywood cinema and I'm in complete love in 60s 70s and 80s cinematography. Do you have and suggestions about the path I should take? I would be amazingly grateful for any advice 🙂
Humans are adapting to unrealistic reality. Video editing IS the key to the new media. Fiction is no long fascinating as the ficticious, which appears in the new realistic mainstream. The Osbornes changed it all. Conan is a very good representatation of this when we watch scripted/naturalistic behaviors on the scripted street interactions with strangers.

Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines' "Running Scared" is great movie.
Underrated by a lot. Also great work by a little known at the time Jimmy Smits.

Exactly what I was going to post! 🎯
Billy Crystal is one of the most beloved comedians and actors ever. When Harry Met Sally... , Throw Momma from the Train, and City Slickers are my personal favorite Billy movies.
Billy Crystal can do it all,..sing, dance, act,...after so many years..."You Look Marvelous."
Jack was always pretty good with the jokes at his expense. In fact, he loved the humor so much that he attended every Oscar show that billy ever hosted.
jack was brilliantly funny "this ain't reality TV!"
Might it be because Jack is so humble he's comfortable in his skin
Billy Crystal what a genius. One of the very best. Love from the UK

How does Billy Crystal look so good?! And still has his wit at 76
It is soooon gooodd to hear his voice again and man. The dude has aged like wine. Unreal. He looks amazing. Good on him.
I love how the ads are pretty much telling us where Conan will be in his next travel episodes.

Billy Crystal always reminded me of one of my uncles... thankfully it was my favorite uncle. Treasure
Also any job I've had, Billy's "Chop Chop Mime is Money" from Spinal Tap has worked it's way into any situation.
Soap was my childhood jam. cheers
Gotta say, Conan, you're showing Jimmy and Jimmy and Stephen how it's done. Delightfully entertaining material, constantly. Keep it up.
Seth is channeling his Conan in Corrections
That's because Conan learned from Johnny and David.
Mr.Saturday Night is such a good movie, quite underrated as far as Billy Crystal movies go.

Didn’t he do a one armed push-up?
