Great reaction, Aleks 🙂 I had actually never heard this song or seen this performance before, and it is absolutely beautiful on so many levels. It plays with most of my heartstrings. I don't understand the lyrics, but I feel no need to either. My wife is a children's intensive care unit nurse, and I saw more than enough in this video to be reminded of all those unfortunate children and their families. There is no good time for any child to get severely sick, but least of all around Christmas time. Just TRYING to imagine what those children would be asking and hoping for is enough to make me cry. Greetings from Scotland! Diana was 15½ years old here (that half makes a big difference at that age!) 😊 I have only seen Diana play a piano about 3 times but I think she's pretty good on a keyboard. Diana helps many orphanages and other organisations whenever she can. She has a tradition of inviting singers from orphanages to her live concerts too. I believe we should never forget where we came from, it is part of us. The video of the kids with "Father Frost" is as great as Diana's performance isn't it! Kwstas has been building up a video playlist of Diana's latest, and very impressive, win on the Show AVATAR. Her vocal manipulation abilities are truly phenomenal.
Dear Peter, I am definitely having more and more trouble catching up or rather replying in a timely manner! I saw and read your comment days ago, but sitting at the keyboard for something other than work these days needed a time travel device. 🤣 Yes, at that age months make a difference and both Diana and the video were touching, beautiful and tasteful. I believe I read a few times that she helps orphanages and very much agree with you on that score - one should always remember where they came from and never be ashamed. Quite the opposite, especially if one manages to achieve so much from such a humble past. I do like that it's not flaunted either - it's present, visible, but not really "in your face". Once again, graceful and tasteful. I've seen Kostas' efforts and some blocks he got and it seems had them released as well. I am following what's going on, but it seems there are so many performances to see, so I plan to pick of her Avatar performances in my 6-week plan of songs. I'm trying to both keep the balance and not focus on only one artist, cover all that many of you enjoy and still include something new from time to time. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to try and make this enjoyable for everyone, not just me. The Russian Santa is so magnificent, I have never seen one as beautiful and majestic. The children are incredibly moving. All of it is very beautiful. BTW, this song seems to me somewhat the equivalent of the Western "My Grown-Up Christmas List." As for Chinese New Year festivals, this year was frankly disappointing. Neither Mango TV nor SMG managed to offer anything other than the worst kind of C-Pop and whiny young romantics. Even Shang Wen Jie and Li Yu Gang seemed uninspired. Прекрасные комментарии. Впервые за много лет я посмотрел новогодние шоу по телевизору - в основном, на НТВ. Большая часть того, что я увидел, меня смутила и разочаровала. Как не хватало именно такой песни, как эта - одновременно и чисто новогодней, и наполненной глубоким и всем понятным смыслом. Greetings from Scotland! Diana was 15½ years old here (that half makes a big difference at that age!) 😊 I have only seen Diana play a piano about 3 times but I think she's pretty good on a keyboard. Diana helps many orphanages and other organisations whenever she can. She has a tradition of inviting singers from orphanages to her live concerts too. I believe we should never forget where we came from, it is part of us. The video of the kids with "Father Frost" is as great as Diana's performance isn't it! Kwstas has been building up a video playlist of Diana's latest, and very impressive, win on the Show AVATAR. Her vocal manipulation abilities are truly phenomenal.

Yes, at that age months make a difference and both Diana and the video were touching, beautiful and tasteful. I believe I read a few times that she helps orphanages and very much agree with you on that score - one should always remember where they came from and never be ashamed. Quite the opposite, especially if one manages to achieve so much from such a humble past. I do like that it's not flaunted either - it's present, visible, but not really "in your face". Once again, graceful and tasteful. I've seen Kostas' efforts and some blocks he got and it seems had them released as well. I am following what's going on, but it seems there are so many performances to see, so I plan to pick of her Avatar performances in my 6-week plan of songs. I'm trying to both keep the balance and not focus on only one artist, cover all that many of you enjoy and still include something new from time to time. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to try and make this enjoyable for everyone, not just me. Btw, Sosban Fach is on that 6-week list too. 😉 I mean, I have to hear other women's complaints being a woman who's got very little to complain about. 🤣

In Russia, as in other Orthodox countries, the Julian calendar is used to calculate the time, which means that Christmas falls on January 7th. New Year's Eve and New Year are celebrated big in Russia, often for several days.
On December 31st, it is not Santa Claus who brings the presents for the children, but Dad Moroz / Father Frost, an originally Russian fairy tale character. He is the personification of winter and walks with a long wand and often rides a troika (sleigh team with 3 horses).
He is accompanied by his granddaughter Snegurochka/ Sweet Snow Maiden. She is a one of a kind. In other cultures there is no female companion.

Christmas is on Jan. 7th in Serbia too, but Santa Claus (translated as Deda Mraz) actually comes for New Year's, not on Christmas.
Then again, we have 2 new year celebrations close to one another - global on Dec. 31st and Serbian on Jan. 13th. Funny that Deda Mraz is now more commonly organized for Dec. 31st and he looks like Santa in Coca Cola commercials.
I love that in Russia a grandpa and his granddaughter come together to bring presents, and if Dad Moroz looks so majestic, I can only imagine how pretty Snegurochka is.

Sometimes I have the time and inkling to do it, other times it just doesn't inspire me. I mean, basing everything just on the song title and the artist i.e. what you're going to do to prepare will sometimes be just right, other times totally off. Thank you for this reaction full of tenderness to one of my two or three favorite Christmas videos in the "child prodigies" category (Diana was clearly younger than the 17 years you attributed to her - this was shortly after "You Are Super"). The Russian Santa is so magnificent, I have never seen one as beautiful and majestic. The children are incredibly moving. All of it is very beautiful. BTW, this song seems to me somewhat the equivalent of the Western "My Grown-Up Christmas List."
As for Chinese New Year festivals, this year was frankly disappointing. Neither Mango TV nor SMG managed to offer anything other than the worst kind of C-Pop and whiny young romantics.
