    I'm a beginner, and about to buy my first adjustable driver. This video really helped explain some of the important points. Have to admit, still a little confusing trying to understand some of this stuff. However, enjoyed this tutorial. Thanks.

    I have a first- generation rogue subzero and have tried all the adjustments. The 11 degrees draw setting works best for me. Recently I replaced the 14 grams weight in the back of the head with a 19 grams weight. I picked up about 10 yards and it feels like a new driver. Callaway clubs are very easy to adjust.

    Great content Jim. I never knew that Callaway stayed the same orientation. Cheers. See you guys on Monday.

    The Maltby adapter keeps the shaft in line after adjustment by turning an interior cog.
    You don't get a ton of adjustment out of it, but it does the job. I do like the way I hit their KE4.

    11:23 Thank you for that point! I just bought a Cobra King LTDx and am gonna play my first round with it tomorrow. I cranked mine down a degree and I was getting people saying you have to do it only once and others said twice. I’m in the twice category myself because the last thing I want is to have the head come loose after swinging it.

    Very interesting video Jim 👍Think Callaway are way ahead of the other OEM's on Adaptor technology, even though I have a TM Sim2 driver 🤣. Great video. Chris

    Great info Jim, I wonder what would happen to the lie angle of Callaway driver if it is adjusted to Draw? No one in Callaway has provided me with an valid answer so far........

    Another great video, thanks Jim. Would be great to maybe have a future video which went into more detail on to he effects of adjusting your driver and when it would be a good/bad idea, eg higher or lower ball flight, more or less spin. I was always told to go for a higher loft as a beginner, why is that? And do 'Draw' settings really work?

    I have a Maltby TC 4 Tour Plus Driver. I'm trying to understand the adjustments. it looks like mine is similar to the Callaway. I like the way it will keep the shaft orientation, but I still do not have a good understanding on how to correctly get the adjustment. I am a senior golfer with an 85mph driver swing speed. I also have a 45G Senior shaft and a 55G R shaft (Pured). Let me know what you think. I enjoy your info videos. Thanks

    I find it hard to buy a new driver for several reasons. First of all I tinker with golf clubs way to much now, don't need an adjustable driver to make matters worse. Second I love this look of an offset driver. Third my old driver still goes just as far as any new driver I try so why change.

    Just got my first adjustable club and trying to understand what happens when I adjust it.
    This is very technical. I understand “loft” and “lie”. What is “spine and flow”? What does he mean when he says “up”, “down”, “flat”? Is he talking about the lie?
    All I want is an additional degree of loft. He did say increasing the loft closes the face, which I guess is okay for my (slice) game.
    Very surprised none of the club manufacturers have videos on how to adjust their clubs.

    • @Master...deBater
      @Master...deBater 2 месяца назад

      Spine and flow have to do with the shaft itself. When the shaft is made...it will have a stiffer orientation on one side where the material is slightly thicker. Club makers like to orient this side in a particular way to make the shaft flex more consistently. Most amateur golfers will never know the difference. Up, down and flat is all about the lie. Most manufacturers include a chart which shows how each adjustment affects lie, loft, open and closed.

    How's it going Jim? John from St.Louis. In my opinion, adapters should be banned. It means your playing with endless amount of clubs in your bag. 14 is the rule. A couple degrees does not have much difference, but when it comes to certain holes on a course it can make a huge difference. Say hi to Mrs. Mcgolf!

    The concept of a clubface opening when the adapter is set to decrease loft is quite a hard concept to get my head around. With an iron if you open the face, the loft increases and vice versa. Do you have a video explaining this?

    So I own the Rogue ST Max in 10.5*. I had a green dot installed to lower the loft to 8.5*. My thinking being that if I lower the loft by 2*, it will eliminate the slight draw bias, thus opening the face. How many degrees is the face actually open & will it eliminate the draw bias?
    Btw, Awesome video. Best one on adjusting drivers I’ve seen to date. Thank you.

    • @angelmaldonado6464

      So is my assumption correct or will there still be a draw bias swing even at 8.5*?

    Does face angle matter? With TM every degree change of loft you change the face angle double. Does the face angle become square when you rotate the face to a square position to set the adjusted loft? Also with fairway woods will a club open a degree open make you have to close the face down at impact to not miss right? I feel like you need one of those gauges to buy the right loft off the rack. I play a tour Sim Max head at 11.1 with .4 open +.5 added loft so it’s 11.6 at .4 closed. I love it and to ensure I find the same club is nearly impossible and think that gauge would be a big help over time. Might get thrown out of a few stores along the way though.

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  2 года назад

      face angle matters a bunch particularly at impact just like you mentioned. most golfers will make the face look the same after the adjustment basically removing the whole benefit of the adjustable driver for the issue of the golfer. The fact you know its 11.1 degrees and .4 open is something else too.

    My understanding is that Callaway makes a right and left handed adapter. If I play right handed but was sold a left handed adapter am I doing everything opposite in the adjustment? What about Callaway green dot and red dot adapters do the still maintain spine?

    Thanks Jim, even showed me how to use the loft and lie device I have on the bench. Do you dial in these settings when you fit or work on their swing first? I get slicers in the booth who just want the club face closed, thinking it will cure their slice.

    • @McGolf

    I have the mizuno 12 degree and I slice a lot does going up in the loft close the face and potentially help the slice. Obviously I’m a beginner and it has to do with my swing but would it help a bit? Thanks in advance

    • @ra1der5

      Adding loft closes the face. So yes, it would potentially help your (our) slice.

      Jim, you should have used the face angle measurement in the beginning to show a zero face angle. After you adjusted the settings, you are adjusting the face angle, , then the measurement should have shown how the face angle changed, then when the club is in the SQUARE position then loft will reflect this change at center face contact

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  2 года назад

      Dan, that is what I’m trying to do , set it square and watch loft change when adjusted
