  • This Sea Dragon was sold to someone in Panama and now has to make the trip from Mississippi to a port in Texas to get to its new home. Unfortunately, this really old trailer has sat for almost a decade and it needs alot of repairs to be road worthy. I end up being the man for the job. The worst part about this job is that it has the old style split rim wheels. Almost everyone over the age of 50 I've talked to has a story about someone getting killed or severely hurt by these wheels. I don't want to want to be another story, and honestly I don't even want to mess with them. But to change the brakes, the wheels and hubs must come off as the hub is bolted to the brake drum. Thanks to one of my old timer friends I was able to come up with a safe plan to complete the brake job.

If the same guy did the trailer maintenance did the ride also, I don't think I'd get on that ride.

There are still a lot of container chassis out there that still have this type of old school running gear. The Panama mechanics will feel right at home working on this system.
