Repairing Old Carnival Trailer Headed For Panama (What Did I Get Myself Into?)
Have you ever been to the carnival and had a ride on the Sea Dragon? Well I don't have to go to the carnival - I got one right in my yard. This Sea Dragon was sold to someone in Panama and now has to make the trip to port to get to its new home. Unfortunately, this really old trailer has sat for almost a decade and it needs alot of repairs to be road worthy. I end up being the man for the job. The worst part about this job is that it has the old style wheels. Almost everyone over the age of 50 I've talked to has a story about someone getting killed or severely hurt by these wheels. I don't want to want to be another story, and honestly I don't even want to mess with them. But to change th...

Bought A Broke Down Scag Mower To Cut My 15 Acres...Now I Gotta Fix It!
Просмотров 144 тыс.Месяц назад
My old Kubota mower blew up. So I had to find a new mower to cut my 15 acres. Mower prices have gone up so much! I decided to buy a used Scag Turf Tiger. But the mower is broke down and I need to fix it. In this video I figure out if the problem is the wheel pump, the wheel motor, or something else. In the end, we succeed and the mower is getting the job done.
Big Cam Cummins Overheating! Fan Won't Come On! Let's Look For An Easy Fix
Просмотров 8924 месяца назад
My new engine is overheating and the engine fan doesn't come on to cool it down. So on this video we are going to make the necessary repairs to get it back in tip-top shape. We also talk about the fan clutch system and some typical things that go wrong with them. A common problem (the one I'm facing) is a thermal fan switch failure. Fortunately, these are only $55 and easy to replace. But you m...
Is It Really That Hard To Polish a Tank??? Amateur Gives It a TRY!

On this video, I polish a 20 year old Freightliner fuel tank. This tank is filthy, scratched, and scuffed. It's as nasty as you'll find, but still in good enough shape to be used on a truck. I'm not a professional. No, no, no. However, I have watched a few polishing tutorials. I'll be honest, the professionals make it look pretty easy. So I want to give polishing a try on a big fuel tank. And I...

    A couple of years ago I purchased a very otd Turf Tiger from a landscape company that had gone out of business. It has over 6000 hours on it. But the motor was replaced at around 3000 hours with a new Fuel Injected Kohler. It starts and runs great. I have issues that make operating it challenging. They are with the pumps. They pump fluid fine. It's the internal linkage is sloppy. So trying to maintain a line while mowing is difficult. One of these days I'lll see if I can fix it. But I'm only mowing about 1 of my 3 acres. This thing is built like a tank. It takes fine motor skills on the controls to keep it going where you want, but I have fun with it. I'm also not mowing blue grass. I have Prairie grass that is not watered.

    Here is what I did. Also not knowing much about pump/wheel motor operations. I removed the lines off the wheel motor to the pump. Put extra hose on the lines. Put one end of hose in clean diesel oil and the other end in a empty container. I then turn the wheel motor in the direction to suck diesel oil out of the clean bottle watched the empty bottle fill up with dirty fluid. This did two things. 1 it cleaned the wheel motor ( figure that is what took out yours) 2 it verified the wheel motor is still good. Love to have your pump so take apart to see how it failed after rebuild or because of rebuild. Great video thanks for the time to share it.

    For those large fields like that personally I wouldn't use a zero turn. If you feel the need to mow it I'd get a 60ish hp tractor and an appropriately sized batwing mower. You'll be able to get about 15' a crack with a 60 hp tractor and a batwing mower.

    I have a Skag Z that I bought new 2 years ago. I added a grass catcher which had no motor of its' own but uses the mower blades to fill the bags. I find that this mower has more than enough power to fill the bags with no problem, actually better than my precious mower that had a separate motor for bagging. The bagger is fantastic for picking up dead leaves. I'm glad that it worked out for you.

    I purchased a Turf Tiger II a couple years back. Just an updated version of what you got. They are nice machines. SCAG says the color of their mowers is called Cats Eye Gold. Very fitting since they have the cat theme going on their higher end models. Oil changes are kinda annoying on mine. There is not much space to get a wrench to open the drain valve.

    • @nedstephens
      @nedstephens 6 дней назад

      I put the rebuild on with the old motor. These pumps are a little sensitive. I learned you shouldn’t even spin those wheels without pulling the pump relief valve. Some of the other internal parts start to get a little pricey so I just went with a new pump. I don’t know for sure why the motor did what it did. But it was definitely wedged hard.
