Pretty sure you also need everyone to be alive in order for Josh to get the best ending cutscene? I did that on my playthrough but killed everyone else to be faster, but that ending didn't pop-up after the credits.
Thanks for this! Gonna try to get Josh's ending because I don't want him to turn into a wendigo 😭 Also glad your police interview gameplay has Emily and Matt care for each other. They're the couple whose relationship I want to save most!
I knew this ending existed, but I wasn't sure how to get it. I just so happened to follow the instructions at the start of the video on my first playthrough, but Josh turned into a wendigo. I originally thought they replaced that ending with this one you have shown in the video, but perhaps this ending only happens if everyone else lives, because in my playthrough, Chirs died to Hannah after I failed the second aiming quick time event that comes after Jack dies, and Sam died after I failed the second "DON'T MOVE" event.
Luckily the remake has epidode selection after you finish the game. So you may be able to go back and change those events without having to start a new playthrough if you choose. I had heard you needed to find all clues to get it. I only got 90 percent, but everyone lived so that may be why I got it. You at least need the choice and finding the diary noted in this vid as well.
@@yuppersmeer6080 i mean if any characters alive they go to the mines. Everyone needs to be alive because if anyone dies (Not Jack, obviously.) Josh is racked with guilt and succumbs to the curse.
Everyone has to be alive to get this ending because if he sees any of his friends bodies hanging his guilt is to much and he gets karma for intentionally killing his friends so he still becomes a wendigo.
Wouldn’t he have had to eaten the flesh of the dead to become a Wendigo? That’s the part I never got with that ending. Although the whole thing is weird anyway. @@mandrews6282 Yes but at the beginning, the wendigo spirit will hunt your soul and try to get in your head. It will try to make you feel horrible, guilty, etc... Then you will become hungry and it will influence you to eat human flesh if there is.
There seems to be more to it than that. I get to this point, and choose "they hurt me", but "i'm so sorry" isn't given as an option. Clearly something else decides whether or not you can choose it. But no one seems to know what that is.
i think i know how to get the josh ending: so if u choose "they hurt me" dr hill would say that it wasnt true. so if u before this, attack josh with scissors as ashley, hit him with the bat as chris. then josh would not believe it making him feel not remorseful. but if u dont attack josh with scissors as ash, or bat with chris, then select "they hurt me" and dr hill says they didnt, then josh would realize and be aware that dr hill is right then the " im so sorry" option def pop up as it make sense for him to listen to his fake therapist in the head and change his mind about his friend as he becomes remorseful.
it makes sense that having his friends attack him could possibly cause him to think more about his actions.. i'll test out to see whether or not having him punch Ashley and then having Chris hit Josh with the bat is what you need to do in order to get the "I'm so sorry" to appear.

I can say I am, (and not) surprised that the Horror and terror Sam experienced that night on the mountain with her friends against supernatural cannibalistic Wendigos. Would catch the Entity's interest, and it seems to have deemed her a suitable candidate for its "game" And the Entity is most likely going to take Hannah as well, betrayed by the people she called her friends and suffered for years in Torment as a Wendigo, as a result of embarrassing prank gone wrong. She as a Wendigo killer for the Entity's game would just be too good for the Entity to pass up on all that tormented emotion.
I see a lot of people saying they followed these steps but are unable to get the ending anyway. While I haven't played the remake yet myself, I don't see anyone mentioning the scene where you have to choose between Ashley and Josh when you play as Chris. Most playthroughs I have watched always choose to save Ashley. Maybe you should pick Josh to live instead, because I'm pretty sure he mentions your choice when Mike and Chris escort him to the shed, so the game definitely remembers the choice. If you feel bad about letting Ashley die in the first trap, then remember you can always choose to sacrifice yourself for her later.
I reach those dialogue choices, all they give me after i say "they hurt me" is "they need to change" or "it was just a game". They give me no option for josh to show remorse.
