The thing about these new mythologies is the fact that each of them have stories yes, but like how often can he go to a new mythology and want to “avoid” war until he’s dragged in, plus with how long the games take, if we are going to Aztec, Japanese, and Egyptian, and the Norse saga apparently took 10 years since the first game was back in 2018, and took 5 years and ragnarok came out in 2022, meaning two games took 10 years, so with Egyptian, Aztec, and Japanese myths would take like 30+ years to finish
I could be wrong, but I think the idea to develop the Norse games came much later after the Greek ones ended, so they mustve started working on it later making me think it wouldnt really have taken 10 years, but you do have a point setting up a whole new area could take a lot of time
I don’t care where it goes I just love god of war so much! I would just be happy to play a new god of war in a new settings!! But thanks for the content.
It has to be Celtic. Mimir's Valhalla, Mimir himself, hell the symbols on Tyr's shield are Celtic and not Norse. Perhaps the Fae courts think the new pantheon of Yggdrasil is weak so they try to invade or trap Kratos in the Tuatha and since time moves differently in the Tuatha, Atreus can age up to a young man and Kratos has to also wrestle with the fact he wasn't there to even see his granddaughter, Hela as a baby.
@@77wolfblade Maybe she'll be a bait and switch, having Cu Chulaan be an antagonist that the Morrigan helps Kratos defeat. Both would be interesting as the Morrigan is the goddess of war and Kratos often snubs his nose at fate. Hell he is called the Fate Breaker. But having Cu Chulaan be an antagonist would also be interesting as he is also consumed by rage so it'd be like Kratos is fighting how he was in the past.
They've definitely set it up for that. Between her, Atreus, and hell even Sindri, there are a bunch of characters that'll easily come back if not the main character.

Tyr probably went to Egypt to get his arm back. From the realm of the dead and Anubis maybe visiting the Duat, or who knows haha it’s dope anyway it is
Dont know if you will see this or not but my theory is that the next game will start in norse but end up in the aztec pantheon because kratos already agreed to help rebuild and watch over the nine realms as the god of war/hope. I think that the aztecs will attack midgard since the aztecs have multiple warriors and was known for attacking others. And i also believe that if we do get a spin off game about loki i feel as if he will go back in time he will be the one that blown the horn for jormi and he will end up going the greec to learn more of the gods of his fathers home land
Honestly to see kratos in celtic, Egypt, Aztec & Japanese mythology or just to see him go back to greece would be badass to see in future games and how the devs will make the other gods look
Hell no. Let the guy retire for fuck’s sake. The last thing I want see is this old man curb stomping Egyptian gods into paste. They are way overdue for a reboot with a new character and new mechs. At this point he should be nothing more than a DLC character in another game.
@@Zetler Maybe not a reboot but the next story starts off with a different character with a god of war title behind it perhaps. Kratos being far far away minding his own business and having nothing to do with this new plot.
Considering that macahuatl spews fire, that's xiucoatl, the Aztec weapon the god of war used to slay his sister and uncountable siblings to create the sun and the stars
Give us God of Mischief as a spin off ala Miles Morales. Let us play an anti hero cunning Loki. Atreus battles his duality of a kind kid and a mischievous god.

Japan or Egypt should be their focus as they would be far more popular and gain more interest then Mayan or Aztec mythology, Im mean you just have to imagine Kratos fighting Set or Anubis or Amaterasu or Hachiman.
@@David-nq8cv He was passing through and he met one god he had one conversation with. Santa Monica even said they had a hard time deciding between Egypt and Scandinavia and eventually chose Scandinavia, so Egypt being next makes sense.
Whenever they get around to Japan I really hope Kratos and or Atreus get to wield some of the legendary swords from both their mythology and actual history like the sword Kusanagi that Susanoo gifted to Amaterasu or the Masamune made by one of the greatest swordsmiths
It’s honestly a toss up. While yes kratos has been to Egypt in the comic. It’s also said he’s learned and encountered the god of Egypt. Old kratos pre Norse. Had a different mindset. Maybe now with his new found resolve as the god of hope. Maybe he remembers the Egyptian gods and how corrupt they are. So the next GoW kratos goes to Egypt to purge the land of these corrupt gods so the people of that land can rebuild kinda what’s happening in Greece. While yes it’s possible Egypt won’t happen. It not out of the picture and really does make sense why he’d go back 🤔
To be honest, I wish they brought back T.C. Carson to play as Kratos again. (If those who finished or know the ending will know what I am referring to)
Just throwing this out there....next game goes to Egypt. The name of kratorls has spread as he has defeated 2 god pantheons. Egyptian gods don't like that they were around far before the Norse or the Greek. They challenge him where he has to learn their ways to defeat them and he shows them their place in the bigger picture...I'm thinking 2 games aleast. Major antagonist would be Ra, Osiris, and Anubis

@@marcelousneal4641 then i am guessing either egypt pantheon will invade or different pantheons come together and invade and try and take kratos out and this is where kratos shines.
2:20 you forgot to mention that the pyramids are there because in a comic kratos did, after destroying olympus, went to egypt to escape the blades of chaos.
I wish that each god was explained as an aspect of the same god in different pantheons. It would explain how god's could travel between mythologies or even take up a position in a foreign pantheon.
I think Japan would be super cool, as I feel like Shinto gods are heavily underrated in gaming. At least I don’t know of a game which accurately shows the Shinto gods.
Since Kratos took Tyrs spot as god of war for Norse I think it would be dope if they were chilling and another mythology from another place decided to beef with Norse mythology. Artreus, thrud, everyone from ragnarok joining together against Egyptian gods or something like that would be dope
I dont care where it goes as long as we play as kratos and we get some new weapons. I wouldn't mind a atreus spinoff and but they atleast need to address athena before he becomes the main guy
I think, while being a bold move, they should make an entirely new IP. After what most likely would be a game centered around Atreus what more could they do? Possibly another sequel following Atreus but after all that comes to a resting point, I feel that making a sort of spinoff mainline title would be a really cool idea. Introduce a new character with a whole new story that's set in another mythology where the first game has very very minimal nods to God of War and really hammers down in the game that follows would be kinda insane. Something like this would probably take decades to come to fruition but I think it would make sense if they wanted to make something new in the foundations of God of War. Also Christopher Judge coming back as Kratos in a surprise appearance would also be really sick.
my theory is that the next god of war will still take place in Europe and i think this because of one character: Skjoldr. a mortal, hinted by the game to be a future king. There is also an old king called Skjolrd who rules during the first centuries of the Christian age (Anno Domini, or A.D.), so the romans are still in italy with their empire. maybe the next game visits not only rome, but also parts of the Celtic territories or the occupied Egipt.
They can give Kratos the more well know weapons of each culture, but i think they should consider some lesser know weapons. For the Japanese mythos i dont think they would give Kratos the well know Katana. I think either a Zanbato (horse slaying sword) or maybe the Nagamaki (long hilted sword). If not a blade maybe Testubo (iron warclub). Egypt maybe the Battle axe (the curved blade on TOP of the pole), but the Kopesh is so iconic it will fall to that. Celtic were know for their bronze sword and shield so that is also highly likely. With Aztec i can also only think of the Macuahitl or the Ball Club. There are other Pantheons we can consider but will not appear in the setting because they are either too similar (example: Roman pantheon) or not well know (example: Gaellic)
personally i believe next one will be greek again, but not playing with kratos, but with atreus, just think about it, what better place to hide for the giants than a realm what lost all its gods?
if the next pantheon is in asia. Then they better explore the concept of martial arts. Since he is the god of war or hope (now), He should at least explore the concept of the beauty of martial forms. Martial arts in essence is not simply a way to decimate others but master one's self as well. With martial arts you truly understand who you are and what you are capable of and that to be implemented in the next game must happen. In real life Martial arts humbles people, even though his experiences already did the same, he could use martial arts as a way to appreciate being the god of war instead of being reminded of his sins.
I really hope God of War doesn't do a Japanese myth game next. We have a ton of Samurai like games (next year alone). People pretend like Egyptian mythology is overplayed, but apart from strategy games and lame movies the only time we've explored it properly is in AC Origins. I would love Aztec Mythology too. Egypt and Mexico would suit God of War and its saga of bloody gods far more than Japan (also more creative freedom for SSM since both Egyptian and Aztec religion are not practiced anymore and thus no chance to offend anyone unlike Japanese religion)
I know it will probably never happen, but given the proximity of the two pantheons, I'd love for Kratos to visit Finland and interact with the Gods of the Suomenusko faith. The story could revolve around Lempo plotting something.
It's not Asian mythology, it's specifically Japanese mythology. You have any idea how little the phrase "Asian mythology" narrows it down? There's a lot of them. The Japanese pantheon, Takagamahara, has been hinted at several times in the new games. The murals on the elevator walls and the Tomoe on the wooden panel (the 3 6-shaped swirls). I'd rather see that, than Egypt. Egypt has been done before.
With Kratos' character arc completed a spinoff game could maybe find the room to spend more time on Atreus. Kratos could be the final boss of such a game. It'd fit the story, they are telling, but I still do worry how Atreus would work as a lead character.
Kratos have two more stops and i think they teased it in tyrs vault in the 2018 one where we saw the symbol Ω and a Japanese one a norse one and a Egyptian one cant wait
I think they need to do more with the "Rift." With the proper plot you could actually have it so Kratos can visit multiple pantheons in a single game. I like the idea that Atreus comes back with some giants after like six months and they know more about the rift.
At the Greece part of the roguelike run, there are two extra areas you can go to. One is The Aegean Sea, a apocalyptic dried-up seabed with a Greek boat. The other is a desert, with pyramids and sandstone plinths. The next location is Egypt.
A zen samurai like Kratos would be perfect. If there is a spin off game with Atreus I would hope that we get to keep all of the side characters around to also continue their stories. If Kratos is in a new setting I would hope we at least get to keep Mimir with him
The series could perhaps use Krato's rampage in Greece as an explanation for the Bronze Age Collapse in Greece, which was a real historical time period in history. No one really knows what caused the Bronze Age Collapse.
you basically just explained why the egyptian gear made sense in universe. we already knew that, doesn’t mean they couldn’t be hinting at an egypt setting
While i love the japanese mythology i dont think its a good setting for the next game. That region is kinda crowded with upcoming games like Ac, ronin and ghost 😅 a mayan one would be more unique
This IP can provide them two titles running side by side, loki and God Of War. Combine them together and they can have Endgame like showdown down the line.
I have a Theory that just makes sense. Kratos is the God of War/Hope in the next games I believe itll be a war between pantheons I believe Egypt, ‘Loki’ Will bring the giants back to help turn the tide of war then Loki takes over Kratos position making Atreus story come full circle then Kratos returns to Greece to complete his story.
It’d be cool to see Kratos vs the Hachiman in Japanese mythology, they got a lot of cool gods and creatures that can build up another great GoW game. I also think that Egypt should be the last realm they’ll face off against since it’s the third well known mythology as Greek mythology and Norse mythology. Wouldn’t really make sense to dive into another well known mythology and finish last with a least known mythology.
Furthermore, according to mimir, th gods of egypt are good guys who govern w/ great wisdom n humility, just like th mayan gods encountered by tyr. Kratos would haven't reason to fight them
I was replaying ragnarok and Mimir mentioned how in order to get the armies of Helheim to fight the bird of Helheim asked for a replacement cause it wants to retire if we get an Atreus spin off game maybe one of his adventures lead him to the birth of Hel
I think the next game will be a war among the different worlds. Like a world war but for gods. Could possibly lead to Kratos forming a kind of United Nations but for gods.
Japan would be a unique setting, Where there are similar gods, Kami, like Amaterasu and Izama and Izanagi, there are yokai- roughly speaking gods of the land - something like elemental spirits or supernatural entities which are Shinto based. Oni -kinda like ogres, demons, evil spirits, and monsters etc. Throw in some Samurai, warring states unification of Japan, Emperor, religions. Should come as no suprise since theres a lot of anime related to what I am saying.
I once had a dream that I saw Kratos scaling a 200 foot wall and he was fighting 14 foot tall creatures with the legs of a man but the legs and foot or talon of an eagle and the chest was a man but the face was eagle… there were gigantic waterfalls in a hot dusty landscape filled with sand… what a beautiful dream that is… and perhaps maybe soon it will be a reality 🙌🏾
This question might sound dumb but I swear the only reason kratos has no access to his magic is because Greece was destroyed. With them rebuilding it would it then bring back his old abilities.
@@JustaKevenYeah I wonder why he still can't have access to his old magic. The ashes are still on his skin which means that greek magic still kinda works on him
I would like to see these world expand in both Atreus and Kratos stories separately. I like the idea of Kratos going to Japan and dealing with his old reputation of a demon (Oni) also if they want they could do something with the red and white of his aesthetic which is colours representative of Japan. A cool thing they could do with Atreus is have the giants have something to do with that whole pyramid things maybe thing, and Atreus being a young and small yet powerful being could be cool to have him end up being the young Pharaoh Tutankhamun Ultimately as other have pointed out the Norse realm is close to the Fae or Celtic Myth so we probably would see that more than others
I don't think sony would do this because god of war and kratos are way too popular but I hope that ragnarok/valhalla is the last kratos focused game, it feels like they ended his character so well and it doesn't make sense to continue focusing on him
If GoW goes to asia, i hope its not Far east asia mostly because we've seen alot of games of japanese and chinese mythology. With that being said i hope we get India mythology (Ramayana) or Thai mythology (Ramakien)

It'd be cool for kratos to fight Morrígan the goddess of war and destiny. Also maybe cu chulainn.
@@77wolfblade I don't know if they'll use the Morrigan, since that'd be two main antagonists having a raven motif.
@@CitrineGamer-1 If they have to they could easily change that into a crow.
But having Cu Chulaan be an antagonist would also be interesting as he is also consumed by rage so it'd be like Kratos is fighting how he was in the past.
nah its too similar to norse, we need something new and fresh, tbh i dont even mind if he goes back to greece
Itd be sick if there were multiple pantheons. Maybe hes travelling to several in the name of unification? I dunno. Itd be nasty tho
That would be crazy!
I hope sigrun gets spinoff I feel like her story and combat would be very interesting and fun to play around with!
They've definitely set it up for that. Between her, Atreus, and hell even Sindri, there are a bunch of characters that'll easily come back if not the main character.
naa. santa monica aint got the employee size nor the time and money to be worrying about making games for spin off characters lol the next game will probs be atreus which will take em a few years and each god of war game takes like 4-5 years. u hear cory always talk about the stress and time it takes to make each game.@@sizablekoala6879
when Tyr talks about "the years of rebuilding" he may not be talking about Greece per se, but perhaps maybe Rome?
Tyr probably went to Egypt to get his arm back. From the realm of the dead and Anubis maybe visiting the Duat, or who knows haha it’s dope anyway it is
Nah Tyr mentioned he used the power within the Valhalla realm to regrow it
Dont know if you will see this or not but my theory is that the next game will start in norse but end up in the aztec pantheon because kratos already agreed to help rebuild and watch over the nine realms as the god of war/hope.
As a Mexican, I would love to see kratos square off against mictlantecuhtli or against quezalcoatl
@@Zetleragreed. Kratos' character development is basically done
I forgot who made it but they should make another "Dante's inferno"
Visceral Games under EA did Dante's Inferno, and you are absolutely right.
I think we gods gonna get a prequel, it would make a lot of sense
Give us God of Mischief as a spin off ala Miles Morales.
Let us play an anti hero cunning Loki.
Atreus battles his duality of a kind kid and a mischievous god.
I want a remake of the original trilogy
It’s rumoured that the original trilogy is being remade next year
@@LOK-15 Maybe the Greek stuff in valhalla is a teaser that they're gonna do that next maybe
@@KingScotto. maybe
I’d want one with more of GOW Ragnarok style of combat, I really really enjoy the combat.
@@benliftin4awhile That's what I was thinking the old story but with the new gameplay would be awesome
Kratos is NOT going to Egypt. He already went there.. If you remember the “scribe” he met in Egypt said his purpose there was finished when he defeated those two monsters for that village. Athena & the Crane God of Egypt convinced him to help. He’s the God of war for the Norse realm now after Valhalla with a lot of work to do cleaning up the realms along side his soon to be queen. He’s not on a quest to kill all the Gods. They made that clear in the new DLC he’s a changed person. “The God Of Hope”
It could be a prequel, I wouldn’t mind that.
@@HazmatCrowl54454 lol sort of like “Ascension” was ?
Japan or Egypt should be their focus as they would be far more popular and gain more interest then Mayan or Aztec mythology, Im mean you just have to imagine Kratos fighting Set or Anubis or Amaterasu or Hachiman.
really hope it's egypt...
Kratos already been to Egypt in canon prequel comic to 2018 game
@@David-nq8cv he hasn't been to Egypt in the game tho mate you catching onto the drift here?
@@David-nq8cv He was passing through and he met one god he had one conversation with. Santa Monica even said they had a hard time deciding between Egypt and Scandinavia and eventually chose Scandinavia, so Egypt being next makes sense.
Whenever they get around to Japan I really hope Kratos and or Atreus get to wield some of the legendary swords from both their mythology and actual history like the sword Kusanagi that Susanoo gifted to Amaterasu or the Masamune made by one of the greatest swordsmiths
He should go to Rome, and see the Roman counterpart of his panthenon. Imagine if there was a Roman Kratos, who defeated Mars
Finally, someone sensible, go go rome, all these roman types of armor
I think Greece name should be changed into Rome in my opinion with a new establish surviving gods of the Greek pantheon.
(If those who finished or know the ending will know what I am referring to)
Actual dialogue between them would've been 🔥🔥
@@heretic_aesthetic- Exactly. Would’ve been kinda a full circle moment for the character.
I believe you will find that the current voice actor is better. I love tc Carson but the voice is so epic now in my opinion
@@ImStillStealingSteel 100% have 1 original raging at him for being weak, while he knows he's so much stronger. Serious redemption arc
I personally Doubt that’s where he’s going. Kratos already went to Egypt..
After playing Ragnarök, I hope to never play as Atreus ever again.
Exactly bro..
Am I the only one who never gave a hoot about sigrun and felt it wasn't much of a big revelation that she's going on a solo journey
Gow remake makes more sense to be with the blade of Olympus and the legacy enemies introduced in valhalla.
Kratos with a Katana sounds so sick lmao. Or even Atreus with a wakizashi
MyBrotha Jor! I just Finished it yesterday! This shit was Crazy🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I wish that each god was explained as an aspect of the same god in different pantheons. It would explain how god's could travel between mythologies or even take up a position in a foreign pantheon.
This was such a great free dlc. 👍🏽
I think if it was his favourite weapon he would’ve used it in the last boss fight the most
I think Japan would be super cool, as I feel like Shinto gods are heavily underrated in gaming. At least I don’t know of a game which accurately shows the Shinto gods.
Okami
1:09 ofc he did, in the 2018 game we find that pot confirming that
I’ve been saying that forever Jon. God of War 1 and 2 need to be remade just like the resident evil series did.
i still think egypt is the most likely next mythology
Sigruns adventure might have some sort of driving conflict that sparks the next games story
There is also an old king called Skjolrd who rules during the first centuries of the Christian age (Anno Domini, or A.D.), so the romans are still in italy with their empire.
maybe the next game visits not only rome, but also parts of the Celtic territories or the occupied Egipt.
egypt would be the best 👌
There are other Pantheons we can consider but will not appear in the setting because they are either too similar (example: Roman pantheon) or not well know (example: Gaellic)
personally i believe next one will be greek again, but not playing with kratos, but with atreus, just think about it, what better place to hide for the giants than a realm what lost all its gods?
need God of War Odyssey & Origins ☕🗿
Tyr most likely fell in love with some goddess in Egypt, his treasure collection tells how much time he spent in that place.
if the next pantheon is in asia.
I think it’ll be a mix of mythologies instead of just one. And I hope Athena is the main antagonist
Absolutely!! Athena is the actual villain in all of this.
Give us a full circle.
With the mixture of cultures like Aztec and Asian mythologies could make some really great chapters
Instead of picking one, it would be awesome to jump between pantheons like jumping between the 9 realms.
I say the order of the weapons shown the order of the next games
A God Of War trilogy based in Egypt and in Asia?
Sounds like a win
I think they need to do more with the "Rift." With the proper plot you could actually have it so Kratos can visit multiple pantheons in a single game. I like the idea that Atreus comes back with some giants after like six months and they know more about the rift.
I'm just ready for Ragnarok to be announced for PC.
At the Greece part of the roguelike run, there are two extra areas you can go to. One is The Aegean Sea, a apocalyptic dried-up seabed with a Greek boat.
The other is a desert, with pyramids and sandstone plinths.
The next location is Egypt.
Kratos goes to Japan, Atreus goes to Egypt. There.
No one really knows what caused the Bronze Age Collapse.
yes, kratos was supposed to drop in egypt but missed the flight and landed in norse mythology
Make prequel about Kratos's journey from egypt to norse.
what ever they come out with with kratos or atreus or god of war im sure will be another superb game
you basically just explained why the egyptian gear made sense in universe. we already knew that, doesn’t mean they couldn’t be hinting at an egypt setting
While i love the japanese mythology i dont think its a good setting for the next game. That region is kinda crowded with upcoming games like Ac, ronin and ghost 😅 a mayan one would be more unique
Exactly
Facts. Instead of Egypt, Santa Monica should do Aztec or Mayan to surprised a lot of people, as well as being unique.
Should come as no suprise since theres a lot of anime related to what I am saying.
let him rest he has enough 🙏🏽
and there was some enemies in the og games that looks egyptian, like, the weapons and all
I once had a dream that I saw Kratos scaling a 200 foot wall and he was fighting 14 foot tall creatures with the legs of a man but the legs and foot or talon of an eagle and the chest was a man but the face was eagle… there were gigantic waterfalls in a hot dusty landscape filled with sand… what a beautiful dream that is… and perhaps maybe soon it will be a reality 🙌🏾
Wait which way is tyr facing when he just stands there?
This question might sound dumb but I swear the only reason kratos has no access to his magic is because Greece was destroyed. With them rebuilding it would it then bring back his old abilities.
What’s your question exactly?
@@sixpackchad If Greece being rebuilt would bring back access to the magic he had in the first 3 games.
@@JustaKevenYeah I wonder why he still can't have access to his old magic. The ashes are still on his skin which means that greek magic still kinda works on him
the hints was even mention in GOW when it came out in the end and ragnarok just confirm it is was already theref
I would like to see these world expand in both Atreus and Kratos stories separately. I like the idea of Kratos going to Japan and dealing with his old reputation of a demon (Oni) also if they want they could do something with the red and white of his aesthetic which is colours representative of Japan.
A cool thing they could do with Atreus is have the giants have something to do with that whole pyramid things maybe thing, and Atreus being a young and small yet powerful being could be cool to have him end up being the young Pharaoh Tutankhamun
Ultimately as other have pointed out the Norse realm is close to the Fae or Celtic Myth so we probably would see that more than others
as long as they dont go into something samurai, they need to explore something thats never been explored before
I believe it will be the Aztecs
Kratos vs the rebuilt Roman Empire gods
I don't think sony would do this because god of war and kratos are way too popular but I hope that ragnarok/valhalla is the last kratos focused game, it feels like they ended his character so well and it doesn't make sense to continue focusing on him
Honestly i want to see kratos interact with the Celtic mythology or atreus/loki meting cú chualainn
If GoW goes to asia, i hope its not Far east asia mostly because we've seen alot of games of japanese and chinese mythology. With that being said i hope we get India mythology (Ramayana) or Thai mythology (Ramakien)
Kratos vs Wukong imagine that
WuKong: Want to go destroy heaven/jade palace?
Kratos: *Grunt* (Now you're speaking my language)
Hinduism is still a religion in India, and because of that it’s very unlikely to be a setting in GOW.
