After having a 2018 gli for a few years, I’ve grown to love the gti/ gli platforms. So much fun to drive stock and with a couple grand into them, they are a riot.
Great idea! most drones wouldnt even need anyone just setup flight path/waypoint so it just launches and goes to same place every time ! but maybe cause airport, no drones maybe
Great to see these GTIs head to head - they are really special cars. Connie and Ed are fantastic, they are really supportive within the community and very knowledgeable too - I think the Edition 40s are really slept on though maybe not everyone knows what they are!

Agreed. Performance-wise there's almost nothing between them. They're both remarkably rapid! And even tho there's millions of Mk7 Gtis, it's still a very nice looking car. Nicer looking than the Mk8, which looks almost deformed..

First off...why would i be insecure? I have an e85 turbo dc5 integra making over 500 wheel hp.. and I'm sure if you watch this channel you know what that means! I said the cars look the same ...and they do. I would want my car to look different from my sisters car. Like at least a different color...Also...kick rocks!@@gynads
1st roll race, lady was very fair on the rules of the race props to her. 2nd roll race, dude was late on power. 3rd roll race, perfect reaction from both, right on the line.
Launch control was playing up on the Mk7, so we tried to race without it, but the Mk8 wouldn’t move off without trying to go into launch anyway…. It was a bit of a mess but we worked with what we had on the day
So both of these are slower than a 300(ish) hp standard Mk8 Golf R over the standing start 1/4 mile launch and slower to 60? 4wd makes a massive difference then...
Imo this is the difference between 4wd drivers and fwd drivers One is brought up on cow and gate the other brought up on a pit pony’s tit and when asked how many press ups can you do the answer given is all of them

It's a live runway so a drone would be a no-no I think.
I'm sure Jamie has mentioned about this before and I'm sure it was the airspace thing.
It would be better with a telephoto (zoom) lens, this would compress the image and have a better view without having a wide lens distortion.

Mk7 Clubsport was a 6 speed DSG. 7 Speed DSG wasnt until the facelift 7.5 after these.

The 0-60 are really close, yet the MK8 traps 122 vs 116 for the MK7 in the 1/4 mile. And the MK7 100-200 is faster. 😵💫
Even a 122 trap is pish for a 500HP GTi. 116 is laughable. That's stage 2+ Mk5 GTi edition 30 stuff.
