Oh man.. I have a PF9. It’s the second one I’ve owned. The first one made a trip back to kel tec and received a new frame just like you. They sent me back the gun with out putting a new sight on the front even though the dot had fallen off, which I mentioned. They did send me out new sights. Sure they have great customer service. But…having great service is like a high tech crash safety system in your car. It’s piece of mind but I don’t really want to have to use it.
Yeah, I totally agree. I mean, if this were my only gun and I needed it super bad, I'd be blowing a gasket sending it back several times. I'm just trying to stay cool for now. I love everything about the gun, except that mines not working.
So I have a P15 and have had zero issues with 150 rounds through it. With the slide stop, I had the same situation when I realized it was entirely user error on my part as I believe is your case. I spent 15 minutes trying to force the slide stop back in but could not get it. I can’t remember exactly what the combo was but I either inserted/removed the magazine, and/or locked the hammer back/released it. Watch the video on Keltec’s page where they breakdown and reassemble, that’s how I noticed I was doing it wrong.
Thanks, but I wasn't doing it wrong. KelTec agreed to take the gun back and they fixed the issue. Another update to come. I did mention in one of my other videos that the magazine needs to be out to insert or remove the slide stop.
I used to own a Kel-Tec p11 it was very difficult to reassemble when you took it apart but once you got it back together it was very reliable after watching your video I don't think I'll be buying a p15 anytime soon I was interested though until I watched your video
good thing you like to sleuth ! you have a great attitude and show much patience and sense of humor about the whole thing. Thanks for being a great guy- I can only thing about all the frustration I would exhibit.
I have some issues with mine as well. Mainly when I bring the trigger to the wall slowly after firing, the next will be a dead trigger. Also having some double feeding issues with mine. I have only tried it with both safeties off and I know Kel Tec says they don't recommend turning off any of the safeties. Have to wait awhile to try it out again but I was kinda disappointed in my initial outing. And yes it is hard to put the slide lock pin back in on mine as well. Hope it all works out for you and me as well.
Well, I expect a few hiccups with a new gun, as in it needs a few rounds to break in. Obviously, I had a few more issues. If yours keeps double feeding, I would send it back for tune up.
you'd've thought, especially after their hype and slowness to get them out, that they would have had qc at top- notch. not a good sign for them, but a lot of first run guns have problems to be worked out.
That is good news about their customer service. Pretty disappointing about their product, though. I always want to like KelTec, because their designs are really cool and unique, but this is the kind of thing I worry about. If only their whole company was as awesome as their R&D team and their customer service.
P-15 finally came week ago. I am big Kel-Tec fan. Unfortunately, P-15 may have some problems. I reviewed "firydeth" problems video on youtube, and analysis at range. No light primer strikes, primer indentation was good. Changing safely configurations worked well for me, position #3. Firydeth had problems in position #2, which I did not test. Note: only turn clockwise when changing safety configurations. No failures to feed. Rear adjustable sight may not hold position, as previously noted by other reviewers. Main problem: I did confirm firydeth's observation that slide gets "hung up" going to full forward position after retraction . . . something is catching here . .. may just need break in period, but I found this very concerning. Hope this helps the group, jim
Hey thanks Jim. While I appreciate the adjustableness of the rear sight, I think this is likely something that will be deleted quicky, seeing as you can't seem to put it back in the gun without damaging the spring. Once I get my gun back again, I'll have another update.
haha who knows. I would assume the patents are all expired by now. My suspicion is that Mr. Kelgren sees that as something old and simple and in the past, and would prefer to make something new and exciting.
I'm going to be trying some ammo with it in the near future. But the manual says it's rated for SAMI spec, brass cased ammo. I guess +P is SAMI spec, so I'll give it a try. +P+ sounds like a bad idea in most handguns.

Yeah, the all metal version has an MSRP around $800, which goes to show you how much more economical polymer frames are. Amazingly also weight about the same too.
Was this ever fixed? Watch the last video here:

Yeah, it's going to take me a while to make sure it's working well before I carry it. It has a ton of good things going for it. sigh....

Well, if this was my only gun and i NEEDED it right now, I would be very frustrated. I'm hoping to have an update on it in the next few weeks.
The 320 cameo got me tho. Lol.
Hey, somebody noticed.

yeah............ well mine was definitely a early one, under 250. Hopefully most of the issues will be confined to the earlier ones. We'll see.

The repair guy took it out for a fun range day on the company dime.
😂
I just bought one I hope I don’t have any issues I’m tryna figure out how to break the dumb thing down now 😂
I wasn’t 🤔 to purchase one up until this very moment 😂
Could keltec re release the original Tec-9 with improved reliability? The iconic one with the shrouded barrel.
haha who knows. I would assume the patents are all expired by now. My suspicion is that Mr. Kelgren sees that as something old and simple and in the past, and would prefer to make something new and exciting.
Bruh, they sent you a new gun LOLOL
Every KT gun I have has had to go back for one reason or the other.. And all those reasons were serious.
Yankee Marshall:
"Kel Tecs are pipe bombs with triggers on them."
I would go a different route. Just saying.
The good news was they destroyed the gun you sent in, the bad news was they sent you a Kel-Tec back.
I got the same slide and barrel back, and they did get it working in the end.
What's the best ammo to use in this? For example, is it rated for +P, +P+, etc?
I'm going to be trying some ammo with it in the near future. But the manual says it's rated for SAMI spec, brass cased ammo. I guess +P is SAMI spec, so I'll give it a try. +P+ sounds like a bad idea in most handguns.

On Keltecs official P15 video they showed a metal P15 w/o the rail. I just found the gun on midwayusa for 800$ (coming soon)
Yeah, the all metal version has an MSRP around $800, which goes to show you how much more economical polymer frames are. Amazingly also weight about the same too.
Yeah great service great gun... not 😂😂
Damn shame that stupid pin being too long. The suspense in seeing the P15 being 5906 mag compatible is killing me.
My daewoo mags worked in it, they're a 5906 mag.
@@firydeth Thats good news. I'm gonna keep my eye on this gun
They better have sent a partial refund for selling a "used" gun . 120 test rounds through a customer's gun seems excessive lol.
Fail-tec.
Yes, from the very first batch, and they fixed it for free. Been running 100% since. You don't have to buy it if you don't want to.
