13:45 While I get that this wasn't the point of the video, saying that you wouldn't use the Hi-Point Carbine for home defense naturally begs the question, "so what gun should I use for home defense"? And my personal opinion on that matter, but especially considering the price point of a Hi-Point, should be a Mossberg 88 Security which hovers around $240 depending on the retailer. Pair it with hollow point magnum slugs or 00 buck and you'll be able to take out most home intruders with a single shot. And with being pump action, you'll fail decades before the gun does even with minimal maintenance and cleaning. So if you, dear reader of this comment, are brand new to the world of guns and you want something to protect you or your family on a shoestring budget, you can't go wrong with a good ole' Mossberg 88 Security.

I just bought one of these from Atlantic and it's a cool looking paper weight. Absolutely unusable as a CC weapon. The one I bought is in really good shape, but it is way too stiff in several ways to be relied upon. The safety is very difficult to operate even after soaking the gun in oil. The mag well is so tight, the mags are damn near impossible to take out. It came with 2 mags and it's the same with both. Not only does oil not help, but it makes the situation worse because you will inevitably apply too much oil making it slippery to hold onto. After watching multiple videos, I can see that my particular gun is much worse than most of the others I've seen. Due to the gun being in such good shape, I can only assume it came from the factory this way, and therefore was never able to be used, so it still looks new. Would not buy again.

I only own one hipoint 1095 carbine. I can’t think of any malfunctions, bought it new, never cleaned it, other that blowing dust and dog hair off action lol. It’s basically a truck gun, it’s accurate for me from 200 yards or less, with open sights.

I'm glad you made this video. I watch 2-3 hours of gun review weekly, yet this is only the 2nd time I have left a comment. The first time was to Garand Thumb. I disagree with him concerning the reliability of the Hipoint 995 carbine. I have 3 of them and they are used very frequently at my gun range. It is one of the most popular choices used by people at my gun range. Very accurate and reliable. Have been using them for almost 4 years.

Glad you made this video. I watch gun reviews for about 2-3 hours every week. This is only the 2nd time I have ever left a comment. The first time I had ever left a comment was to Garland Thumbs. I let him know that I disagreed with his review and that the Hipoint 995 is one of the most popular guns used at my gun range. All 3 of mine get heavy use and have been running strong for about 4 years.

I have three Hi-Point carbines (9mm, .45ACP, and 10mm) and I trying to acquire a 4th in .40 Smith & Wesson. Once the mechanics of the carbines are figured out (bolt handle operation, firing pin also used as an ejector, sprung recoil pad, etc.), there should be no question that Hi-Point carbines are well-designed. I have had zero failures in all of my HP carbines. Granted that the trigger could be better, but there are available fixes to make the trigger better - not perfect, just better. Overall, I give these carbines high points (no pun intended). 😁

Was thinking the same thing man. Imma give em the benefit of doubt and say he has a medic condition. But truthfully ive seen many dudes who look more stout than they are in my life. Was a wiry 120lb 5-11 in 10th grade, worked out all the time trying to keep up with stronger dudes and my friends. Would destroy other people bigger and heavier than me in arm wrestling on the constant, especially the band "cool/tuff" guys alongside the athletic of the em0 crowd(crazy to think how popular that was). Chopping down smaller trees with dulled axes combined with running and weight lifting does wonders when your young, for how your future self will be health wise. Other words me being positive bullied and goaded to perform above my class made me a better adult. Wouldn't change a thing from how I grew up. Sorry for the long reply. Lol dude may just need to hit the weights.

"Yeah, when I met my wife she was the worst, she belittled me, said mean things to me, and was a toxic mess. BUT. After a few years I got used to it and now everything goes smoothly!" If you buy a self defense weapon, you need it to work. This video is justifying a garbage product which could be potentially dangerous to the user. You don't usually make these videos? Well good, keep it that way, please!
