Think about what firearms manufacturers give YOU the choice of what safeties you want to use, great I love it! Just wish I had the money to buy one now.
Dream Gun 4me ! Actually use the P17 as my CCW pistol. I'm a DAV w/low $$. Got lot of broken part's so weight is my enemy now. Gonna try to save up for a P15 someday. TY for such finev weapons.
I have almost every long gun Kel-Tec makes, including four SUB-2000 carbines, but don't have any of their pocket pistols. I've been intending to get a Sig 365XL, but this looks like it might fit that niche. There is a lot to like here for $450. If nothing else, maybe the new P15 might finally make it possible for me to find a P17 at something approaching MSRP. Geez, it's been two years.
@@dylano7242 - I can think of a few items Kel-Tec have shown at SHOT or otherwise promoted as upcoming products that they never produced for sale to the general public. There was the RFB Target with the 32" barrel (no point having long distance ballistics if you can't hit a barn door at that distance), the M43 Kalashnikov styled version of the RDB, a 6.8 SPC version of the SU-16, and a 300 BLK version of the SU-16 (I think they had trouble getting the gas system to cycle reliably with subsonic and supersonic ammo, which is almost two different cartridges). However, I do think they're quite serious about the all metal P15. I'm more of a polymer pistol guy but I fully expect the all metal P!5 to be a real deal. Kel-Tec guns I'd like to see: 300 BLK PLR-16 (even if it was only tuned for subsonic) 10mm SUB-2000, Glock mags of course (I'd give a left dangly bit for one of those) 22LR ultralight version of the SUB-2000 (stainless would be great) 22LR super compact ultralight micro pocket pistol that was reliable 50 BMG semi-automatic rifle, reasonably priced, maybe a 20 round triple or quad stack mag. While I'm wishing, I wish Kel-Tec would work with an ammo manufacturer to develop a .22 to .32 straight wall centerfire cartridge for a compact high capacity high velocity pistol, with a pointy FMJ for penetration and an extreme JHP for massive expansion. Basically a 22 Ultramag. 22 KMP (Kel-Tec Magnum Pistol)? Then maybe make a mid sized PDW version with a 50+ round magazine similar to their P50. Added bonus - the straight walled centerfire cartridge would be easy to reload and the brass would last a long time. On the plus side, I (and no doubt dozens of other people) suggested to Toby that they should make a high capacity 12 gauge pump shotgun with dual tubular magazines and we have the awesome KSG that spawned the also awesome KS7. The KSG was outside their normal product range but they leapt to the challenge because it's a cool product and they listen to their customers and give us what we want. I love Kel-Tec's technical innovation and customer oriented business model.
@@Liberty4Ever a 22LR super compact ultralight micro pocket pistol? You mean the p17? Its been completely reliable for me. Both suppressed and naked. I will say theres a LOT of blowback with a can, but a few hundred rounds and no malfunctions yet.
Yea i happened to walk into a shop a while back and happened to see to little micros sitting in the case. I asked what are those? Guy said ahhh some new p17 model. I said i’ll take’em both. They were 190 each. Lol
There’s another issue with the magazine insertion that if you inserted at an angle with a magazine is angle little bit too far forward the front of the magazine or the side I’m not sure we’ll catch on the lip of the magazine release, and no matter how hard you press you will be unable to insert it, unless you withdraw and inserted, a different angle or depressed the magazine release button
My magazine release keeps falling out if I press hard on it, essentially it collapses in words and both sides of the mag release attached together fall down the mag well
Great video. Love seeing the takedown procedure. In position 2 with the grip and mag safety disabled is the gun considered “drop safe” when loaded with a round in the chamber?
Need to make the slide stop at the end of the frame with a shorter barrel then you’ll control the market for sure more than the p365 because you’ll have higher capacity with a lighter weight gun
Quick start guide for "my" P15, but I cannot find any for sale. Also, what's the story for Parkerized vs Nitride coatings that people have on the slides? Are they options, or did one come before the other in production? There doesn't seem to be any information on this.
Is the all metal version as shown at shot show actually going to be made? Because it is not even listed on the keltec website, only the polymer version
I would buy that in a heartbeat if it had an ambi slide release. As a lefty I usually can count on keltec for full ambi guns... disappointing they didn't do it on this one.
Magazine safeties may be worse than useless. Fortunately, your friends at Kel-Tec allow you to disable the magazine safety on the P15, or in fact, any or all of its safeties. I wonder how that plays with politicians who require their subjects to have a magazine disconnect safety.
Now that I am seeing them on the market, one piece of information I am not seeing on the site: What is the EXACT footprint of your optics system? I am noticing its not a recessed cutout, as well, or am I not seeing it?
🤔🤔🤔After all of that...did anyone notice that he was able to dry fire it with the magazine out? That means that "position 1" CAN FIRE without a mag inserted. ????🤔🤔🤔 Seems a bit inaccurate and contradictory to his description of "position 1"
You're right. Maybe that click was stage one of the pin moving forward. Another video showed multiple stops for the pin. I'll be sure to check when I aquire one myself.
I'm somewhat looking forward to getting my hands on both polymer and aluminum... but KT consistently lets me down with the .. finer details. Their motto should be "Great Ideas, Awful Execution" So far it looks like the trigger reset on this thing is ... well the whole thing.. On the other hand, WAY TO GO on including the flush fit mag. That's pretty awesome. Rear sights look similar to the p17... and IDK about you guys but my p17 has rear sight issues. I've never understood the magazine safety... that makes no real sense. I'd rather have had a regular ol' thumb safety.
A better quick start guide: Don't buy one. I owned the metal version. After only 150 rounds the barrel looked like someone had wire brushed the finish off, the slide had tore chunks of the frame away underneath, the sights worked themselves loose and not stay in place, a frame screw had worked itself over 90% of the way out and a grip screw head broke. Loc-Tite did absolutely nothing as after waiting 72 hours, after only 50 more rounds the sights were loose again, all screws were loose and working out. Only 200 rounds and this thing looked like it had tens of thousands of rounds put through it. No wonder you stopped making these after not even a year on market, they are complete junk. The p15 was my first and very last Kel-Tec I will ever own. Paid $725 for mine after transfer and tax and the very best offer I ever got for it was $150. Garbage company making cheap garbage.
I am happy to see Kel-Tec staying current with videos 👍
Glad to see these are finally shipping, really hope they get some of the alloy frame guns available soon!
Kel TEC just keeps impressing me, way to go GEORGE!👍👍
Very excited for the metal one
Found the metal one on Midwayusa for 800$. Its under their walnut grips option
*coming soon
Think about what firearms manufacturers give YOU the choice of what safeties you want to use, great I love it! Just wish I had the money to buy one now.
Great safety points and delivery overall Chad!
Excellent presentation 👏 Thanks
Love it when gunmakers use Mec Gar magazines
The metal variant with wood grips is sex
Agreed
Looks like Midwayusa has it listed as coming soon for 800$. Under their walnut grip options
Hmm your sex must not be enjoyable
Great video - thank you! So looking forward to getting one. Any chance of a video of the Keltec shooting team showing off the P15 models?

I cant wait to purchase a metal P15
Can you please get the red dot mount on the market? Been waiting to mount an RDS since I got my p15

If keltec actually makes the p15 all metal version with red dot slide they had at shot show, I'd be in line waiting to give my $

Another question, will there be a threaded barrel available for this pistol?
I'm a huge KELTEC fan and KT should invest more in QUALITY CONTROL ! Fan since the mid 90's .
One or the reviews were saying the back sights have a drift while shooting, will y'all be doing something about that

Would like to know this
any chance you are going to have a P17 video?
Do you sell plastic basepads? That heavy steel one is, well, heavy and gets rusty on my P-11's.
Are they shipping: and will we have the option of purchasing the all metal pistol?
2 pros and a con. Love the look and the way it shoots. Hate the take down system. I wish more guns were like the Hellcat pro to field strip
Will the Sub2k be made compatible and will happy sticks (30 round mags) be available?
Need to make the slide stop at the end of the frame with a shorter barrel then you’ll control the market for sure more than the p365 because you’ll have higher capacity with a lighter weight gun
Does it take canik magazines?

I am curious, does this pistol fire +P ammunition? (Specifically) Lehigh Extreme Defender Ammo?
5:04
No live ammo in your workspace because lord forbid you don't want a live round WALKING ITS WAY INTO THE CHAMBER ON ITS OWN ....
Id be very interested in a P15 if i could share mags with a Sub2000
When is this actually available to buy?
What is the point of a magazine disconnect safety?
Is this pistol 9mm or .22lr?
Is the all metal version as shown at shot show actually going to be made? Because it is not even listed on the keltec website, only the polymer version
Yes. Listed, but not yet available on midway
To Kel tec do you think this is a good first gun? I don’t know I might think of buying one.
I have both version,I really like the metal version there both great for concealment
I kind of wish there was a manual safety version.
What's the eta for the all metal ones? Need one in my life.
Same same same
Lipseys has it P15MBLK MSRP $800
Regarding the magazine catch/release: Swappable from left side to right side is NOT the same as ambi.
Why does that one have a six digit serial number, when mine has a five digit one?
Is the metal frame still coming out?
Check Midwayusa. Says coming soon. 800$ grip option Walnut
Can I mount a underbarrel shotgun on it?
Are the mags interchangable with anything else?
Keltec p11 mags work in both of my p15
Yes more Sci-Fi firearms please Kel-Tec. What are they going to be called when they start shooting laser beams?
Ok cool......when can I get one lol
Magazine safety makes it California compliant...
Is there going to be an optic ready option in the near future?
Or will we have to bootleg it like the p17?
How did I know he'd say 'goodies'
Florida man invents gun
I would buy that in a heartbeat if it had an ambi slide release. As a lefty I usually can count on keltec for full ambi guns... disappointing they didn't do it on this one.
It has a switchable safety
He literally said you can switch the slide release to the left
listen, you guys should take off these safeties altogether and just sell the gun bare and even cheaper.
Looks cool, but that magazine safety is useless. I might get one though.

Please make a shorter barrel version you'll sell a million
The short grip long barrel is the best, I don’t know why people want long grip short barrel, you can always extend it with a mag but can’t extend it

It's a shame the polymer one is so intensely ugly. Allow one looks neat though.
