- Tonight on VG Myths: another Nintendo game! A minimum jump challenge in the Switch version of Super Mario 3D World's extra campaign, Bowser's Fury.

IMPORTANT UPDATE!
On Version 1.0.0 of Bowser's Fury, you can obtain any powerup by collecting coins during the tutorial. This would very likely shave off the only jump in the run!
I'll be attempting a Max% Jumpless run in the near future, after buying a physical copy (I bought digital because I am lame).

If that’s what you consider a jump, then that’s something you can try for beating the game.
However, she stated at the very beginning what she considers a jump, and these jump limitations are the same ones set up as Odyssey's built-in jump counter. The same jump counter that didn’t include wall jumps or pole jumps.
I’ve never heard anyone call Jr “Budger” but I find it so funny and I’m now going to call him that every single time. Thank you for this.

@@via3600 I plan on it myself... though perhaps not to the full extent. After all, that would require manipulating my game version to enable 1.0 only tricks, which... yeah, even owning it physically means I can't be sure is an option. Shame that.
Although... if I did change my mind and it _was_ an option, I could likely just delete the update files without having to play through the entire game again...
@@ShadwSonic owning it physically is the only way you *can* go back to 1.0.0, assuming your cartridge is early enough. if you have it digitally you can't redownload old versions once you update

Sometimes they use semantics for challenges, sometimes they disregard semantics for challenges :sob:
Probably to get as close to Odyssey's definition as possible-wall jumps don't count towards "Jump! Jump! Jump!", the moon in Mushroom Kingdom that you get for jumping 10,000 times, which only includes:
- Jumps (not as captures)
- The cutscene jump just before capturing Bowser (but not the ones at the start of the game and in Lost Kingdom)
- Double jumps
- Triple jumps
- Backflips
- Sideflips
- Long jumps
- GP jumps
- Water jumps
- Jumps in 2D sections
- Talking to NPCs (not if the NPC triggers the dialogue, and only if you're on the ground when you trigger it)
According to the in-game platform that switches when you jump, wall jumps do count as a jump but come on we don't want the final number to be over 50 or something
@@princesspeach1985 those platforms probably don't trigger with a jump, they probably just trigger when you press the jump button when able to preform an action involving the jump button (like wall jumps, jumping at the surface of water, pole jumps, and jumping)

That’s likely the case, that would be much easier for a developer to program instead of going "yes these specific moves are what trigger the platforms"

Proceeds to play video games at a skill level I could only dream of.
A few things to keep in mind for your Max% run:
- You CAN bring the propeller block to other areas if you have a path that doesn't touch water - this is ESPECIALLY useful in Roiling Roller Isle and Mount Magmeow (I used this in my normal playthrough!)
- After you finish the game for the first time, the kittens can ride on Plessie with you, making previously impossible kittens possible without jumping (for example, the one on the arch). Once you dismount Plessie, they'll try to jump onto whatever ground you land on, as long as it's close enough to Plessie.
- You can gain extra height while climbing walls by climbing until Mario starts sliding down, jumping off, and then claw diving back onto the wall - it lets you climb a bit higher after this

Hey gamechamp, it is already possible to get the first shine jumpless. If you get enough coins you get a random power up, yes I know you said it only gives you a mushroom. However, if you play on version 1.0.0 of the game that doesn’t apply and the game will give you more power ups other than just a mushroom including yes, a cat suit.
