The one at 6:37, ps croatia had a flag in socialist yugoslavia witch was the yugo. tricolor and a coat of arms that depicted the checker bord over a sea and setting sun sorunded by golden wheat and a red star.
      Sorry for my bad english.

First 2 gols for france were bullshit bullshit i tell you grizeman dive and second penalty bc of playing hand never happen and croatia second goal was goalkeepers mistake so if you want to play on that card than i think that then it would ve 1:0 for croatia bc if our goal keeper didnt have problem with back we will win

German melody of their anthem is Croatian. Little funny but I guess it's influence of cultures I guess. He also forgot to say that red, white and blue stands also for freedom, equality and unity.

Greta Van Fleet~ we didn’t make decisions in WW1, we weren’t a “solo country” in the ww2 (we actually tried to slow down hitler)… when we actually (for the first time in a long time) wanted our own country, we decided to no longer be a part of Yugoslavia. However, Serbia was greedy and wanted our sea (+ make a country called Big Serbia). So we couldn’t get our independence. We refused to fight but Serbia kept killing our people and not letting us be free. So when they actually got weaker, yes, the storm did happened. We pushed backed Serbians from OUR OWN LAND and to do so, you had to kill some. I hope this helped ❤️❤️ Croatia spreads no hate, even in the worst times. We're talking about consistency here. There are big problems in that statement.
      1. Germany as a unified state didn't exist until 1871. The eagle however, did, but it did not represent a clearly defined state, but rather, a person. (Not to be confused with the HRE eagle)
      2. The Russian eagle was only adopted 1472, I don't think I need to point out the issue here.
      3. The Serbian eagle is for sure one of the oldest symbols of a clearly defined state(and a dynasty), dating back to (earliest) 1190 AD. and the Croatian one(not counting the legend) from the year 1100 AD in the Church of St. Lucy in Jurandvor.
      4. There is no consistently used state symbol from the period BC that's used to this day (except for probably Israel).

All of them lived here and the foundations for some cities date to prehistoric times during the rise of mankind. Before the first world war serbs had their own state but croats didn't and after WW1 kingdom of yugoslavia was created but it was ruled by serbs mostly and those were bad people who didn't want a prosperity of yugoslavia but just serbia. 230 000 croats were dead or inprisoned beacuse of that goverment. And when WW2 started a group of extremist croats were pissed when serbians voted yes for implementing racial laws in belgrade. Then that extremist group sold itself to nazis and became more popular by the name Ustaše (ustashe) so they wanted to revenge croatian people but they didn't asked did anybody wanted revenge and mass killing. After the war partizans emerged victorious and from 1945 to 1990 they killed 1 million more croats and bosniaks, beacuse ustashe in revenge prior to the war killed 500 000 people. In yugoslav wars croatia was not forgiven for the mass killings of ustashe group so nato and UN limited us in hopes of someone (probbably serbs) winning the war. But croats smuggled weapons in croatia and we fought a bloody war. Serbia supported republika srpska in the war and after occupying 18% of croatian teritory gave away to R. srpska 75% of their weaponary. Srpska commited mass genocides in bosnia killing over 40 000 people in 1 year. So croatia went on to arm itself with its stronger economicly developed region. So we were preparing for massive attack that would free our land and help bosnia. During that time R.srpska killed 5000 civilians in Sarajevo with artillery so nato got involved and bombed them so their army was decimated in 1,5 years. In 1995 croatia was ready for attack that would free them and they succeded during operation STORM and BLITZING SKY. We signed the armsitce but it was not that nice since beacuse the serbia seeks domination and croatia isn't letting them and everything is taking toll on poor bosnia. We are diffrent the most by religion and language. Yeah we have a very very similar language but all 3 of us don't like to call it the same for obvious reasons and lingual diffrency. We get along nowdays but its hard beacuse serbia and croatia sold basicly everything to russia and eu dosen't like that so both of us get picked on a lot beacuse of that.
I am glad you asked this and sorry if there was any wrong words this isn't my first language XD.

Another thing I don't understand is Bosniaks, are they a different people than Croatians? Are they ethnic Croatians of muslim religion? • @StarLord1206

or Stephen Držislav (Christian names can be translated and this is a combination of a christian name and a slavic name). Crzislav is probably some Polish or Czech variant of the name. Just like polish name is Kazimierz, but Croats say Kazimir.
Also, fun fact, Stephen Držislav is one of the two Croat kings (who were Croats, not foreigners), for who we have actual proof that they were crowned as kings. The other is Dmitar Zvonimir. Tomislav is supposedly our first king, but there is no actual proof except for "Ljetopis popa Dukljanina" which isn't a very reliable source for historical research. It would be just like calling duke Trpimir a king just because some monk wrote that he was a king with no other sources to back that up. He was more likely a duke (knez) who was granted the title of a despot by the Byzantine emperor, which would make sense since he fought with the Byzantine Empire against the Bulgarians.
Another fun fact, the first (official and known for certain) kings of Hungary, Croatia and Serbia all had christian names Stephen.

I would say that the origin of red/white checkerboard originates from before 7th Century, before Croats lived in modern day Croatia. "White Croats" lived on parts of today's Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine (a lot of them still do). Almost all of these countries had Red/white colors in their coat of arms at times. Could be wrong, but it makes way more sense than that chess story. Croats lived with them, so naturally traditions stayed, the most common surname in Slovakia is Horvath - which literally means Croat.

It's linguistically simpler and better than in other languages which use various acrobations to make things complicated.
Also, first A is short. But you got the stress correct. Therefore, it's something like ['danitsa].

There's more theories on Croatian checboard:
One is about that chess match you already mention
One is that we had it since we came here in 7th century (according to iranian thoery on Croatian indentity because there are ancient pots and vases in aincient region of Harahuwati in today Iran and Afghanistan whitch depict red and white checboard pattern)
One that says that in it was from days of Croatian Kingdom, when King Tomislav divided Croatia into 2 - White Croatia (today Croatia and Bosnia), and Red Croatia (today southern Dalmatia, Herzegovina and Montenegro)
And if you question why he named it that way, it was beacuse of old system to mark sides of the word by colours (white - West, black - North, red - South, and blue - east) That expalins names of Red, and Black sea for example
And one simmilar to previous that originates when Croats still hadn't migrated to today Croatia, and were in region of Galicia in today south Poland, and west Ukraine. So apparently Croatian state had name white Croatia (in today Poalnd) and other Red Croatia (in Ukraine)

Just one thing. Your video is very good, one of the best I have seen previously but I would like to correct just one thing. Tricolor flag in order red-white-blue wasn' t made in 1868 but in 1848 and it was under ban Josip Jelačić who needed one croatian flag to go to war with hungarian revolutionists and the original of that flag is still kept in one of the museums of Zagreb.

The first simbol with star is from Iliricum who were domestic people at Adriatic sea, and Croats came to Fight against inbaders at Bizant, so when Croats won they got the land like a reward and migrated from Moravia to Adriatic Sea, to Dalmatia, Panonia and Istria, Albania, Montenegro, and they live there even today, Croats were already mixed with other Slavs, plus Ilirs, Romans, Ostrogota, Vizigots, Germans and some Franks so there is many influence in our history, but our power, our simbols were stronger and live even today.. Long live Croatia Kingdom will come again!!

Not true, Croatia does have 20 counties (županije). 25 shield fields do not have anything to do with number of counties.

  • @PeoplecallmeLucifer

Coratian words are pronounced the way they are written and the way you pronounce letters is always the same
the "C" is pronounced the same way you pronounce the "C" in the word certain or century
    Greetings from Croatia
The checkerboard is also a symbol of of unified Red and White Croatia (Most likely the Kingdom of Croatia and the later joined Neretvan Duchy which kept pagan believes for quite a while after the rest of Croatia was Christianized)

    • @jukkoo
      @jukkoo 5 лет назад

Sinko, ti ili ne znaš hrvatski ili ne znaš engleski. C se ne izgovara kao century ili certain već kao zvuk "ts"
Sonny, either you do not know croatian or english, The "c" sound in Croatian is pronounced "ts" not "s" The sound is like the "zz" in word "pizza"
