Thank you for putting VF some spotlight Max
your support and interest in VF is really genuine
    VF really needs it
    PS
watched the whole VF top 8 here
was laughing in grand finals here
since it's Jacky and Pai with the Tekken costumes of Paul and Lili respectively
and it was reset by the Pai in a Lili costume
once the Pai user defaulted on to her original costume, Pai user was 0 - 2
and then switched back to Lili costume to realize it was too late
I was thinking it was the Lili costume the good juju in that set
props to the whole japan crew

@@theWIIISEguy I'm not trying to dunk on those games. I love those as well. I'm thinking it from a casual perspective. Competitive FighterZ matches probably look like a constant explosion of SFX and VFX for a casual. With VF, you can actually see everything, even the hesitations, very clearly. Granted this franchise is not popular these days because of the lack of SFX and VFX, so what the hell do I know lol.

High level VF is such a joy to watch. Sadly, it's been many, many years since I've last played VF myself. I could never play Ultimate Showdown due to always getting connection issues before a match even started, so I gave up on that. I used to be exceptionally good with Jeffry and Sarah (if I do say so myself) and at one point I started to learn Lau, but by that point none of my friends at the time would play with me any more and I could never find matches, so I eventually just kind stopped playing, despite loving the series so much.

VF was primarily a victim of the decline of Arcades and being handcuffed to the losing side of the console wars. It could stay serious and pure without flashy gimmicks because it relied on having cutting edge 3D graphics with superior arcade hardware to be its eye-catching gimmick. When consoles caught up to arcade hardware and VF got tied to the less graphically powerful console, it lost that hook with casual observers, and only fighting game purists could see the beauty of its fundamentals.

I usually tend to fast-forward match footage. This one got my eyes locked the entire video!

The Paul alternate on Jacky is hilarious since both share the same voice actor.

It was my first tiime seeing live VF High level players, and was SICK. That Pai player might have inspired me to finally learn how to play as her. Also, it might be just a classic shaolin monk, but Lei Fei is one of the coolest characters in fighting games, ever.

As someone who knows literally nothing about fighting games, I was rooting for Akani through the video. Fighting his way out of the loser's bracket and into grand finals, making those clean ass sidesteps, I was made a fan of a stranger in 20 minutes.

This is the most unorthodox cross up I've seen in fighting games in a long time. He jumped over, and did a back turn while rising jab that converts into full combo wtf.

Was hoping it would get a decent Steam port

We need Virtua Fighter back because new 3D fighters aren't getting made due to the much heavier animation workload per character (and stage) compared to a 2D fighter that will sell just as well. Only 3D fighter franchises that already have huge libraries of move animations stored up have a business case to continue, and with the futures of Soul Calibur and Dead or Alive looking shaky, that possibly leaves Tekken as the sole survivor if VF doesn't return. You don't want an entire genre's survival being dependent on the whims of a single corporation. Remember Konami?

I honestly don't care much for this channel or for "dood", but thanks for shining a spotlight on a series that really doesn't get the recognition it deserves. VF pretty much created the 3d fighter, but got left behind due to a lack of "flash" and "fancy". I personally feel this series should get way more accolades than it does. (And any series that can appeal to a fighting game scrub such as myself can't be bad imo)

You wont see any other fighting game be as good as this! The amount of things going on in one game makes it deeper that any other whether it be blocking, evading, fuzzy guarding, counter grabbing, counter hitting, doing combos, stances, etc all being close to reality with only a few exaggerated moves in the entire game that were added in the newer versions, no projectiles, no ridiculous characters, no supers, no superficial exaggerated crap just pure fighting!

VF at EVO japan was such a match. Fit like a glove.
Edit: I know that alot of people want a VF6, (me included) but that will realistically take a WHILE from now. So for now, my want/ expectation is for this recent remaster to be ported to PC. SEGA PLEASE !!!!!! Port VF esports/ VF 5 Ultimate shodown to the PC ! WITH ROLLBACK
