Friday Night Funkin' is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47. Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on Itch.io.
The plot of the game centers around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father Daddy Dearest doesn't approve of him. It's up to Boyfriend to rap battle his way through him and anyone else that stands in his way so that he can finally get freaky! Think you got what it takes?
Friday Night Funkin' is an ongoing project that will continue to receive updates, bug fixes and new content. A full version of the game is currently in development, having been successfully funded via a Kickstarter campaign. Check the changelog here for information on the latest updates. i like how the tempo changes, it makes it feel like jim is getting more panicked overtime, like how he did in the game.
And to add to it, he starts sounding more shaky the more it goes on before the song ends
feels strange to just now see a mod of this game, stranger to see it not be shoehorned in and actually fit with the game

Happy to see this game showing up in this mod. Its my favorite roblox game and its so insane playing it for the first time. And this song delivers the sense of fearing the unknown so well by how compressed it sounds and incidental the song progression feels.
Really good, 9/10.
This is just me and I don’t study music much but I like to think that the bass/ the thumping noise, is just the thing on the other side of the door being on beat to Jim’s singing.

Why is this game one of the most brutal and frightening game even tho you don’t actually get attacked by the thing banging on the door
I think main way of scaring you in-game is by giving you that feeling that someone S watching you and might break in. It might be in next closet you check, break in through windows you barricaded thinking it d be more safe, or just break in. And eventually the main char, Jim just gets stressed so much he kills himself

Something I was always curious was what Jim was saying in his Chart Notes. I mean it's not like "Beeps" or "Boops" or anything like that. It's kinda like how some mods take a person's sentence, and then stitch it up into different harmonic music notes.
