Void Collector is a speedrunning-focused game I've been developing. After making a demo, I wanted to gather feedback and stress-test by having speedrunners give the game a spin. And the results blew me away. By the end of the week, the runners had some truly impressive runs to show.

This game looks like it has speedrun tech called shit like "scrunglo bunglo" or "The bingus twister" and it being the most frameperfect inhuman thing only god gamers can pull off
any enemy-specific stuff is gonna sound insane from the get-go, too

You REALLY need to add some occlusion shadows to your textures. I know we're going for a kinda "MS Paint" aesthetic, but I really struggle to watch footage without an easier time interpreting space and direction.
Maybe as a graphics option?

My only concern is there's not enough incentive to use all the weapons. You've got this really interesting five-finger system with 32 combinations, but these runs are only really using the same four. Detonator, pistol, double barrel, punch. Sometimes a few others make a cameo, but most of the options I still don't even know what they *do*.

@@naiknaik8812 they literally described the weapon system, they mean weapons. They just didn't know how many weapons there are, you don't need to defend it like that.
Could possibly use a ultrakill
-like score staleling system for staying on the same weapon for too long

Also, I fucking love this game, I played it day one and immediately loved it.
just a tip, patreon takes 8%-12% of all money earned, but ko-fi only takes 0%-5%. the main thing that's better about patreon (that I know of) is the popularity. correct me on any of this if I'm wrong.

@@Artidume thats the only problem, but depending on how many people you have on your patreon, it can make a massive difference.

It would be cool if you started with broken fingers and healed them after levels or if that was some kind of challenge mode
I’d suggest having the word juice fill up based on how long until you can gain juice again once you use all your juice. 6:30

Idk if this would work in gameplay, but I just wanna throw this out somewhere where people can see it.
What if there was a grapple type weapon that could pull you towards level geometry and help you gain speed. the hand gesture could be like the Spiderman web sling, which would make it synergize well with the rock on for speed.
Now, this wouldn't really make the gimme redundant, because you can still use that for getting closer to enemies specifically. Or maybe it would, I guess it depends on how it's implemented. Also I don't know if you're like accepting ideas and stuff anymore. Heck, maybe someone's already suggested this.
Regardless, this is a super awesome game and I was hooked from the first moment I saw it. Keep up the awesome work man :)

Wish I had even known about this game before now, I would have loved to submit for this challenge. I love speed shooters like this and am the world record holder in 90% of the individual levels in another game called Super Buff HD. Though, there isn't much competition there anymore sadly. Looking forward to this!
this game looks fun, new, and refreshing with the simple idea of a runner/platformer with your hand as the weapon. so good.

something i think would be cool is if when the gimmie is used and it kills an enemy for it to launch you way past where they were

this reminds me of the time I did so well in a competition the company hosting it gave me a job, thus disqualifying me from the competition. When I told 2nd place he said he was sorry to hear that I would be disqualified, but he didn't sound like he was sorry.

This is a very good game.
It will probably fuck up all your level design ( it will for sure ). But it will be cool that when you make the spider-man hand sign, you throw a web ( grapple ) from your wrist

I feel like you should ditch the dying animation of enemies because it looks to similar to their living form, which makes for worse feedback for the player. The death of an enemy should be as clear as possible from far away.
