The TLC Tyson puts into his restorations is legendary. Love seeing him give these classics new life. Also a good reminder to me just because it's old doesn't mean it's junk.
I'm still holding on to my 1996 Honda Prelude VTEC, garaged car, low mileage and in pristine condition. Still enjoy the exceptional handling, responsive manual shifts and overall simplicity of the driving experience in this generation Prelude. It was one of Honda's best all-time sports car designs!
I purchased similar Lloyds floor mats for my 3rd gen Honda Prelude👍👍. The H on mine is blue and white. It’s awesome to see this 4th gen unmolested! Sooo many of these got into the wrong hands and were poorly modified/ruined etc… Maybe some day swap a JDM H22 lower mileage engine for the extra 40HP and Vtec which is how I remember this gen! Rad find!
Such memories of our associate parking lot being full of these and CRX's when I started at Honda Mfg. in Marysville back in '97. They were awesome work cars with fantastic MPG. Outstanding find Tyson and thank you for keeping these classics alive. 👍🏻🇺🇸
I had 1994 Prelude VTEC, loved that car, it drove so nice and had so much torque and power. My Friend had a Dark Green 1995 Prelude SI, we used to race with him all the time, he was faster on the first gear until like 50-60 miles and then VTEC would take over after like 60 and pass his SI.
Looking good. I always enjoy your little touches. Stuff like getting the sticker for the air box, new pedal covers, painting the gear shift ring. It's the little things that go a long way. The spoiler looks fantastic by the way. Can't wait to see it with the refinished wheels.
Acura Man - Excellent Job with bringing that Honda Prelude back to Life, enjoyed every detailed you have done. I remember that 93 Prelude seeing it on the road during the 90's, major new style from the 1988 Prelude. Loved your video - Dave from El Paso
Great work on the "lude". Can't wait to see what else you have planned. My buddy used to have a light blue 2nd gen and I had a 3rd gen honda accord coupe. It's astonishing how similar they are :-) cheers.
Ha! I have that same 1:43 scale model. For a while I was hunting for a clean ‘93 Prelude VTEC in Milano Red. Never did find one and eventually gave up, but bought the model anyway because I love the body style. Really enjoying the series.
Nice attention to detail, Tyson! Even down to the correct side marker light screws! Word of advice on that brand floot mats, your heel will compress the fibers in that mat in a short amount of time based on experience.
Tyson, thanks for checking out that Prelude at Pull-N-Save, You saved me a miserable trip in the Heat. I am looking for the Intake Tube. That throttle Body is valuable, I need an extra one. I am running a 92 intake manifold on my 1993 Accord. Prelude parts are hard to find.
I love what you’re doing! I have a 1990 Honda Accord LX sedan. It is a manual like this car. I think your factory shift knob is the exact same as mine. The little chrome trim that clips just at the base of the knob can be rewrapped I’m sure.
The SE model of 4th gen Prelude came from the factory with the rear spoiler. Those are the ones with the 3rd brake lamp in the spoiler as there wasn't the one mounted inside from the roof from the factory. When you can, you have to swap back an OEM power antenna. Not sure on this model but, I believe if you have the power antenna and then got the spoiler, when you pop the trunk, the antenna should go down so it doesn't hit the spoiler when the lid is up.
The Prelude is coming along nicely! Love that spoiler addition - I know the “whale tail” look is all the rage right now, but 90’s spoilers just hit different. Anything mechanical needed for the ‘Lude?
It has a few things on the list. The cruise doesn’t work, and sometimes the idle surges. The clutch pedal is on the “heavy” side but no slipping. Car has 220k and in amazing shape considering.
do you have any experience with the abs modulator assemblies on these old hondas leaking? and if so, what was your solution for it? i've tried changing o-rings on them but the internal pistons have cup seals which i could never find replacements for even looking for just the seals based on measurements.
any suggestions on where to find a realistic 3rd gen integra model? US style front end. preferably 94-97 style. even better if its not a type R. just a regular one like i have.
The most valuable thing about that junkyard car are the wheels. FF culture ruined a lot of these cars and wheels are kinda rare. And i like the caps on your car aligned with the valve

Thanks, that means a lot!
Another great video!! I can’t wait to see more!!
Thanks Jason!
Glad to see those cup holder go. Love the new maintenance decals!
The add on spoiler was the right touch. This 3rd Gen was gem of a find.
Thanks!
Oh man, this car keeps getting better and better
Thanks Avery!
Seems like just yesterday these were new. Sigh. The days are long, but the years are fast. Thanks for keeping these great older Hondas on the road.
You bet, thanks for watching!
Has to be one of my favorite Preludes made. Great job on the airbox sticker.
Thanks! Love getting the details dialed in!

Agreed, such a great platform!

Agreed, the VTEC motor is a great upgrade!

Thanks for following along!

Same here! Hopefully in the next week or two! Thank you!

Great work and attention to detail. Personally I'm more of a fan of without the spoiler but its a great looking ride either way
Thanks Mike!
Loving the updates on the Prelude 😎
Thanks my friend!
I remember I tried to buy one of these new in 1992. A red one. Could not get financed. Ended up buying a new 1992 Nissan 240sx. It was a win for me.
Awesome ride!
Great work on the "lude". Can't wait to see what else you have planned. My buddy used to have a light blue 2nd gen and I had a 3rd gen honda accord coupe. It's astonishing how similar they are :-) cheers.
More to come! Thank you!
Super nice Prelude!
Thanks Eric!

Awesome! Thank you
So glad you added the spoiler, always thought this gen looked odd without one. My ‘93 and ‘99 had one. Looks awesome Tyson! 🎉
Thank you Adam!
Nice attention to detail, Tyson! Even down to the correct side marker light screws! Word of advice on that brand floot mats, your heel will compress the fibers in that mat in a short amount of time based on experience.
Good to know! Thank you!
Milano Red is one of my most fav colors from Honda. Looks good!
Thanks Spencer!
What a cool car!
Thanks Mark!

Oh awesome, definitely, those cars very rarely pop up at the yards!
Love the bonus chopsticks!
Haha, right!?

Very nice, that's a great generation of Accord!
Looking great!
Glad you approve!
nice work! 🔧
Thanks Dom! Appreciate it!
A beautiful sea of red there! 😍
Yes! That's what I was going for! :)
Keep dropping quality content. I enjoy the videos.
Appreciate that!
Citrol 266 will clean up those mud flaps, excellent for tar. sap . Paint transfer and adhesive removal.
Thanks! For future ref!
She’s getter more beautiful everyday!
Just wait until the final reveal! I knew this car had potential! Thanks Mark.
Looking good. Need to secure yourself a power antenna.
It's on the list for the future owner!

That makes sense, the Legend has the same relay for the antenna when equipped with a spoiler!

92-93 didn’t come with led spoilers only the 94-96 model did which I always thought it was weird
Good to know!
See if yo can find the famous Dr. Ruth Westheimer in a Honda PRELUDE commercial. Yeah I remember that commercial so vividly 👀👌
It doesn't ring a bell!
@@TysonHugie She was the famous Sex Therapist. She appeared several times in The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. She was bonified PhD Doctor
still great carsby todays standatd
Definitely

There’s a guy on eBay who rebuilds old Honda/Acura ABS modulator assemblies. I haven’t used his services yet, but friends have.
any suggestions on where to find a realistic 3rd gen integra model? US style front end. preferably 94-97 style. even better if its not a type R. just a regular one like i have.
I haven't looked for one of those yet! Usually I start with Ebay
Did you have problems with the rear window defroster peeling off together with the tint foil?
No it's fine, he uses steam and other solutions instead of a razor blade
@@TysonHugie Thank you, Tyson, I am thinking of placing UV protective foil, but that rear defroster is a concern for me
Where do you get your wheels refinished?
Express Powdercoat
Which do you prefer, a wedgy Prelude or a roundy Prelude?
Wedgy but they're both cool
lots of elbow grease. I also like the tint-free look.
It depends on the vehicle, a light tint would look good on this but for now it'll stay clear!
I think red is ur calling
I'm a fan

All about those details!
❤🔥❤🤤
Thank you!
Given your fastidiousness, i would imagine that aftermarket antenna is making your teeth itch!
Haha I'm leaving that one to the next owner... already have plans to pass this car along to a specific person.
It seems you might like red cars....
Haha, it's looking that way!
