My 99 prelude has 278k on the clock and I have a spare engine/trans in the garage. I love it. Of all your other sports cars, how 'bout that mpg on the prelude too right?
I have an 01 Prelude in my garage right now. It’s a black 5 speed, leather interior that was built in October of 2001 so it’s gotta be close to one of the last ones ever built. I’ve owned it for almost 20 years now. Recently got the whole front end from the doors up repainted because of sun faded paint and some rock chips, brand new genuine Honda lights put in same time. I currently have 177 thousand kms on it,doesn’t burn oil at all, just a couple leaks which will be fixed soon. 😊
I still have my black 97 SH as well, but unfortunately it was never garaged, so the paint is rough. Otherwise it's stock and such a fun analog car to sling around the corners. Having owned it for over 2 decades means there's just a lot of memories and nostalgia wrapped up in it... yeah, I really should repaint it and fix some of those leaks LOL
Honda revealed a Prelude concept recently, might be going the hybrid route! There's not a ton of info out yet, but still better than Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross SUV. 👀
@@wheelsevolved I think hybrid will be okay if say electric motors for the front wheels and a sweet sounding engine for the rear, whilst keeping the sporty coupe shape 👍
I've owned my 97 Prelude SH since 2002 and it's such an analog feeling time capsule every time I drive it. It's obviously not as quiet and comfortable as my CRV with DI turbo, CVT, carplay nav, and all the safety sensors, but there's something about the raw mechanical feel of rowing the gears and visceral experience of taking corners at crazy speeds. Despite the extra ATTS weight/complexity, the cornering is far more precise and aggressive than the base versions and fine if you aren't modding it.
Nothing like a 4th Gen. I've had 2, a 95 SE, and still own a 94 VTEC. Such a great car. I've never driven an Integra Type R. But I have driven several GSRs of differing tune. They're nice for sure, but no comparison to a Prelude with equal state of tune/parts IMO.
I had 94 base h23 5 speed with h22 head I sold her for what I thought was stupid money now the car is worth 4 times the money in 2001 keep your car I miss mine it was clean 39,000 miles timeless design dash fun to drive!
I actually own the 44th 5th gen prelude off the line, it was sent to Britain as a promotional car so its a hybrid between jdm and euro spec makes it hard to get parts for but i dont care i love it, been doing it up on my channel although I need to upload all the new videos still got to swap it out from auto to manual and put coil overs on it
Great vid ... I sold the 3rd gen new in West Michigan. They went for MSRP with no negotiating, unless you went with the yellow color, you would get a $500 discount
I had the final '01 SH for 11 years. Sports cars I have purchased sense then beat it in every performance and still miss the Lude.
It had a unique charm that's hard to replicate, especially the final generation. 👍
I had a celica, Tiburon Tuscani, Impreza, and 01 prelude.
Miss the Lude every day, something special about it.
That's an impressive lineup of cars! 🔥

The flip light preludes aged SO well, gorgeous cars

Kudos on keeping it in such a great shape, and with that new paint job, I'm sure it looks as good as new! ✨

Got a 93 si. I’ve owned it since 1999. I love that car!
I had an 89 3rd gen SI. The car was so good.
Proud owner of a 1981 first gen here, I love this car to death
I had a 91 Prelude Si in red and I loved it.
Preludes in red look amazing! 👍
4 wheel steering.
One of the best coupes. Had a '89 and '91 prelude si with 4WS and manual transmission.
Currently own a 5th gen. They are AMAZING cars. Not fast by any means, but boy are they fun to drive!
Agreed! Preludes definitely have their own special charm. 👍
The 5th gen prelude is my absolute favourite I would love to have one as my first car if I could find one that’s in pristine condition and low mileage
Fifth gens are awesome. They're getting rarer especially in pristine condition! ⚠️
@@wheelsevolved and even if we find one in that condition they are pretty pricy
So underrated
A true classic 🙌
Honda needs to bring back the Prelude
God forbid they bring it back as some kind of crossover ev

The 5th gen was voted the best handling car under $25k USD by car and driver ❤
The Active Torque Transfer System was really ahead of its time. 👍
Had a 97 lude. Best Honda i ever had
The Prelude definitely holds its own! 👍

Definitely a classic masterpiece.
MAN! I had an 89 si 5spd and a 92 5spd. They were very fun to drive.
It sounds like you had some great times behind the wheel. 👍
I remember owning the first-gen Prelude Si & first-gen CRX Si back in the good old days.
That's a classic combo. 👍

You've clearly got good taste in cars! 👍

At least you had the experience of owning one! 👍
I still have my 1990 Prelude Si ALB
That's incredible! It takes dedication to keep a classic like that on the road. 👍
@@wheelsevolved
The original motor went out but I swapped with a JDM B20A
Those didn’t have oil issues compared to the B21A due to the FRM sleeves
Nice! I've heard good things about B20A swaps. 👍
@@wheelsevolved
I want to go the H22A route next 😮💨
The H22A is a beast! 🔥
They should put the flip lights on the new one. I had an 85. Loved that thing and it had a Blaupinkt system with tint. Royal blue.
Had a short stint with a ‘97. It was a fun little commuter car
I loved my 93 prelude.
Nice summary!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. 👍🏻
I have a 5th gen in a barn! red top engine! dark green! they are getting rare!
That's a goldmine! You should definitely think about restoring it. 👍
@@wheelsevolved its also a manual which is also seems to be more rare in the uk!
Sounds like you have a real head turner on your hands then! 🔥

Just bought prelude 3rd gen. BA5 chassis.. pretty tough to get the spares.. but I just love those pop ups light. Planning for a H22A1 swap
The H22A1 swap sounds amazing! Finding parts will be a challenge, but it's definitely worth it! 🔥
My first car choice as a teenager was a 1989 Honda Prelude or a 1989 Nissan 240sx. I got the 240sx!
I think you made the right choice! ✅
The only Honda I really like. 89-91
I remember doing reverse donuts on my 1984 prelude a long time ago
I wish I kept mine. 😢
There's always that one car you regret selling. ⚠️
Thought i saw an advert for a new model
Great vid ... I sold the 3rd gen new in West Michigan. They went for MSRP with no negotiating, unless you went with the yellow color, you would get a $500 discount
It's amazing how something as simple as color can affect car sales. 👍
4:08 if Honda redid that vehicle it'd make me so happy.
That would be amazing! 👍
Miss my '89
love the vid, can you do the silvia next?
Great idea! I'm adding the Silvia to my list of future videos. It might take a little while, but stay tuned! 🚨
Quallude?
My husband's 93 lude SI
is in this video at the 6:00 min mark - CRV_TOM
And it looks amazing! 🔥
The 5th gens will only go up in value 😎
I read that the prelude will be returning in 2025. It will be returning as a hybrid based off the accord
Honda did reveal a Prelude concept recently. Hopefully, it'll live up to the legacy! 👍
Daily driver, bb9 2.0 16v auto, 76k miles
Quelude is what I called it
4:24 losing to an ax is crazy lol the citroen ax is one of the worst cars i ever driven
I just got gifted a 99 model with the h22a4 i have to fix some stuff but hey its free
You're gonna have a blast bringing it back to life! 💥
prelude is shit because everytime you shift it drops out of VTEC. and it drink and drink and drink oil
🇸🇪🙂👋👋
underrated? Had a 00 model for 2 years. It was heavy and slow.
It’s all cool but it’s a front wheel drive car… 😏
😂 the Prelude were oil burners and many of them blew engines once they started with DOHC engines. Overpriced overrated.
Bullshit
Meh, torqueless wonder.
You clearly never drove one before.
