I went there for the first time in February. There were many homeless tents along the trail and on the other side where the SRV statue stands. It just kills the quality of life. It bothered me.
Oh man I haven't been there for a while, several years I think, and unfortunately hearing that doesn't surprise me. Hopefully things will get better in the future.
