I was born and raised here and let me tell you those temperatures are Wayyy off. More like 90-108 degrees in July and 50-80 degrees in January. Zilker park and the greenbelt are pretty cool.
I appreciated the visual transitions from where things are located in Austin it gives me a idea of where things are and made me more interested in checking places out.
Small tip: As someone who is Mexican, if you’re looking for authentic Mexican food, don’t go to a Tex-Mex place. Tex-Mex is not authentic since it fuses Texas food with Mexican. We don’t eat burritos and a bunch of queso and chips in Mexico, or at least not in my village. Tex-Mex can be delicious for sure though.
You all probably dont give a shit but does someone know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account? I somehow forgot the account password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me!
@Benjamin Marley Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Best tour vid I’ve seen. love the location markers giving you a good idea of the layout of the city! I am visiting soon and this helps considerably! Asheville NC and the area around it would be a great city to explore.
I've lived here for a while now ... Fine video, got the basics. No complaints really. BUT... Tacos .. don't waste your time with Torchy's, it's going national soon anyway. 1. Cuantos on 12th. 2. Valentinas on Manchaca. 3. Pabalote on South Lamar 4. Taccorido (Multiple Locations) 5. Veracruz (Multiple locations but go to the one at Radio Coffee house cause Radio is dope.) 6. Pastor on Riverside 7. Pueblo Viejo (multiple locations) 8. La Tunita (Birria on Burleson) .... and literally any other gas station taco place around the city. Also Vegans...Best Burger in the World is at Arlos.
Currently in Austin visiting and using this list. LOVING our experience here on my bday weekend no less…very seriously considering moving here. Thanks for the video!
I just love these video series. Been in Austin for a year and I havent been to half of these. A few additions i'd recommend: 1. Here Nor There - this bar has some real awesome Irish bartenders 2. A haircut at Birds Barbeshop 3. Austin Eastciders 4. Oasis cafe 5. Wimberly
I am from Portland OR and it’s raining here everyday for the past month and I’m hellaaa over it! Really going to do some research into Texas! Looks awesome!
I love Austin, I was born there [ Breckenridge Hospital ]. Barton Springs use to have topless women lying around poolside. That lake was once named, Town Lake. I grew up in Austin, and in Dallas!
Great summary of the city! You named a lot of my favorite spots. Been here for 4 years and still love love living here. I can't think of another city I'd rather live in that has it all
You had me with the locals with their passive aggressive comments! I moved to Austin during covid and I had to discover most of these spots without a some blogger. I wish I would have watched your videos before and it would have made my experience a lot better. Keep making awesome content!
See, I grew up in Austin, but I'm also the oldest of 5. I never really ventured too far from my family and we lived most of the time in Round Rock. I very much love how you smoothly made the transition frin Zilker Park, Barton Springs & other places: AWESOME VIDEO!!!!!!
my family currently lives and Round Rock, I love RR its clean 🥲 i lived in RR for a year and then left to military service, i’m going back home for christmas and i really wanna explore austin when i get there 🥺
First of all, if you want “Good Authentic Mexican” let me stop you there. You are not going to find it in Austin lol. Visit San Antonio where Mexican influence and culture is still very present and thriving. Austin’s Mexican restaurants freaking give you sour cream and chips for crying out loud lmao. That’s how you know it ain’t authentic 😂
1. Sit in Barton Springs Pool. 2. Stand in the freezer section at HEB and munch the free samples there. 3. Spend all day in the freezing movie theatres. 4. Sit in any freezing library. 5. Sit in a storm. 6. Sit in your car with the AC all the way up. 7. Visit a freezing museum. 8. Put your wet clothes in the freezer, take a cold shower and put on your frozen clothes with pockets full of ice cubes before you go out. 9. Dress all in black and pretend you are cool.
You did a really good job with this video. I live in Austin and it was nice to recap some of my favorite places and learn about a few new ones. I shared it with a couple friends who are considering making a visit. One of them is saying August and this made me realize I should probably ask him to reconsider for mid September =)
I'm just now seeing your comment a year later! But I second what the other commenter said about needing a good job. Living centrally is important to me otherwise I don't feel like I'm really in Austin or taking advantage of the things that make it special. But I can't afford to buy a house in the area I live in right now. I've been thinking about relocating tbh@@fiamma2109

Don't forget that at Barton Springs, women are legally allowed to go topless! It's really fun! Don't be shy! Also, I recommend going to Baby Alcopocos or Baby A's! The Purple Margarita is a classic there! The Tortilla Soup is too! I always get Tortilla Soup with extra Avacado and cheese lol. I'm a born and raised Austinite. Just ask me if you want more recommendations. Also, go to Hippie Hollow if you want to go nude or wear clothes. It's clothing optional!
This is one of the best videos I've seen. Provides a lot of information with many pictures. Super focused, not going off track. Great job!
Definitely the best 'What to do in Austin?' video I've seen so far
My wife and I are moving to Austin for my work and she said this video gave her a lot of hope for some fun things to do and eat in Austin. Giddiup!
I was born and raised here and let me tell you those temperatures are Wayyy off. More like 90-108 degrees in July and 50-80 degrees in January. Zilker park and the greenbelt are pretty cool.
We were surprised too! That’s the average according to the internet, but we would swear the average temp in summer in shy of 100 😅
lol Zipper park? Don't you mean Zilker? Zipper suits it more with all the damn homeless around. Austin is ruined.
Another native checking in. Can confirm.
Yeah, it is unbearably hot 90% of the time during the summer months.
What abt September?
This video was SO well done!!! Thank you

I've lived and traveled here often, you did a fantastic job summarizing Austin. Well done.
