Definitely the best 'What to do in Austin?' video I've seen so far
I was born and raised here and let me tell you those temperatures are Wayyy off. More like 90-108 degrees in July and 50-80 degrees in January. Zilker park and the greenbelt are pretty cool.
We were surprised too! That’s the average according to the internet, but we would swear the average temp in summer in shy of 100 😅

I've lived here for a while now ... Fine video, got the basics. No complaints really. BUT... Tacos .. don't waste your time with Torchy's, it's going national soon anyway. 1. Cuantos on 12th. 2. Valentinas on Manchaca. 3. Pabalote on South Lamar 4. Taccorido (Multiple Locations) 5. Veracruz (Multiple locations but go to the one at Radio Coffee house cause Radio is dope.) 6. Pastor on Riverside 7. Pueblo Viejo (multiple locations) 8. La Tunita (Birria on Burleson) .... and literally any other gas station taco place around the city. Also Vegans...Best Burger in the World is at Arlos.

Small tip: As someone who is Mexican, if you’re looking for authentic Mexican food, don’t go to a Tex-Mex place. Tex-Mex is not authentic since it fuses Texas food with Mexican. We don’t eat burritos and a bunch of queso and chips in Mexico, or at least not in my village. Tex-Mex can be delicious for sure though.

You did a really good job with this video. I live in Austin and it was nice to recap some of my favorite places and learn about a few new ones. Living centrally is important to me otherwise I don't feel like I'm really in Austin or taking advantage of the things that make it special. I love Austin, I was born there [ Breckenridge Hospital ]. Barton Springs use to have topless women lying around poolside. That lake was once named, Town Lake. I grew up in Austin, and in Dallas!

I remember visiting Austin in the 1970’s and the tallest building was the Capitol and some UT dorms. Wow, it has changed and gotten expensive to visit.
Lived in Austin for 7 years 16 years ago, really missed it.

1. Sit in Barton Springs Pool. 2. Stand in the freezer section at HEB and munch the free samples there. 3. Spend all day in the freezing movie theatres. 4. Sit in any freezing library. 5. Sit in a storm. 6. Sit in your car with the AC all the way up. 7. Visit a freezing museum. 8. Put your wet clothes in the freezer, take a cold shower and put on your frozen clothes with pockets full of ice cubes before you go out. 9. Dress all in black and pretend you are cool.
Be smart and make sure your auto is white and park under shade.
Never go hiking unless there is water to jump in at the end.
