You could pick basically any song off of perfect circle’s thirteenth step album. Absolutely amazing album. Liked the reaction!
Absolutely true!
I feel the same about mer de noms.
Even the tracks that feel like half a song i.e. Lullaby, Counting, A Stranger, etc. are still REALLY good. An all killer, no filler album I go back to quite a bit.
Flawless album
Please review the album in order!! So powerful.
IMO, Tool and A Perfect Circle both set the standard of excellence of artistic alternative metal!
Check out Maynard’s other, other band Puscifer.
“The Remedy”
“Momma Sed” (live from What Is...)
“Apocalyptical”
“The Arsonist” (live from Hall of Feathered Serpents)
“Bullet Train to Iowa” (live at Arcosanti)
Queen B
“The Remedy” is straight 🔥! Also, “The Humbling River” is a very beautiful song.
Galileo and Grand Canyon are also great Puscifer songs. The video for Grand Canyon is gorgeous.
if you are looking for good live performances, definitely check out the complete recording of their 2016 rock am ring gig here on youtube... professionally recorded sound quality and in general just an impressive performance, especially when they go directly and seamlessly into the remedy after the arsonist
No thanks
this album i think is one of the most important albums someone should hear. especially those who struggle with addiction. its a healing album for sure.
I’ll never understand how someone can put together a lyric video without actually doing some research first 🤦🏻♂️
Quite a few incorrect lyrics…
This album is pure🔥! Thirteenth Step is a concept album about the different aspects and perspectives of addiction, and the recovery from it…
I always thought this song was about a relationship with another person and after reading his biography I believe that this song is about him sung from a outside perspective.
@@michaelfoley1928 It's about addiction. This one in particular is about an "outsider" not understanding why a loved one cannot just "snap out of it" and get clean. The album is a concept album.
“Passive” is another great song.
Good recommendation!
My personal favorite by them.
@@chaospoet ‘passive’ is actually a song from Maynard and Trent Reznors side project ‘Tapeworm’. The song ‘potions’ from Puscifer (Maynard other project) is also a former ‘Tapeworm’ song. Of course both version were altered from their original.
@@Joe-bv7io Didn't know that. I'll have to check that version out. I just knew of it from the Keanu Reeves 2005 movie Constantine soundtrack.
easily my favorite song on the album
Another totally great song from them is 'Orestes'
"Blue" from Thirteenth Step is another good one. In actuality, the entire album is good.
This song got me through the 2004-2005 Deployment with 1st Cav in Baghdad.
As many others have said, the whole album is amazing!!! One of my all time favorite albums!! ❤
Lex, I totally get it when you say you like the essence of APC. Back when APC first came out, Maynard said that TOOL is his masculine energy and APC is his feminine energy.
The album this song is on is called The Thirteenth Step and this album is my fav APC album. You guys should check out the songs The Package and Gravity off of the same album.
You're feeling the feels, Lex. Maynard described Tool as the brain, APC as the heart. You're more of a heart music listener who sits back & enjoys it. Brad wants to be cerebral about music. But it's why you're a good complement. Check out "Pet".
They did the doomed
@@Soljarag5 My bad. I forgot, and they only mentioned Judith.
@@bernman23 ha yeah, i guess they forgot too
You can't go wrong with any track from A Perfect Circle... my personal recommendations are for "The Hollow", "Sleeping Beauty", and "Magdalena"
Would love to see you guys react to another song off of this album called The Noose. It's an absolutely beautiful song and I think you guys would also enjoy the lyrics. When I was 16 I got to see these guys in Knoxville, TN right after this album was released and they were ridiculous.
Can’t wait for you to get to “Gravity” and/or “Orestes”.
Both great songs I think you’ll enjoy!
Another vote for Orestes from me. Always felt it was one of their more underrated songs.
@@Tommi462 100% agree, such a good song and never gets a mention
@@Tommi462 Search for APC Orestes live at red rocks. It’s an extended version of the song.
@@Joe-bv7io That’s the only version I listen to honestly
This entire album is fantastic. I'm actually a bigger fan of Perfect Circle & Puscifer than Tool.
Ohhh that's tough! A Perfect Circle is untouchable, but, TOOL is *so* profound!
I like Eat the Elephant album best.
Judith is a must hear by Perfect Circle
It's kind of impressive how frequently "lyric" videos get the lyrics wrong. YOU HAD ONE JOB.
I'd love to see you guys check out some Ghost. Maybe "Square Hammer" for starters?
When u have a person u love and are watching them so pilled out lieing to your face not realizing they are so trashed the lies dont make any since and you know they just wsnt your money but u love them it's a touching song..
The full uncut version of the Video is Awesome, The Bikini bandits are badass
the bikini bandits alone...........
@@Shammrock62 Don't forget the Charger too
A Perfect Circle is one of my favorite bands. Mer de Noms and Thirteenth Step are almost perfect albums.
Almost?!?
A song reflecting on his relationship with Layne Staley, who he closely watched die from Heroin abuse.
didn't knew about this, thank you
@@nunomuacho446 the whole album is a concept album about the different aspects and perspectives of addiction and recovery from it. It’s not all about Layne that dude saying that is not totally accurate, Maynard himself hasn’t experienced addiction so he drew inspiration from others around him experiencing it, one of those people was Layne. The whole album isn’t just about Layne tho it’s influenced by many people and their experiences which Maynard saw and was around.
This is a direct quote from Maynard about this song and people misunderstanding it, "[In] the case of "The Outsider", it's sung from the perspective of a person who doesn't understand at all what their friend is going through, what their loved one is going through, and they think that it's more like a sprained ankle; they can just kind of walk it off."
@@puppetmaster8551 Layne died in early 2002, this album was released in late 2003. I believe he was the sole inspiration, but Maynard doesn't divulge the meaning to his lyrics, so...
@@fatherburn3715 the whole album is not about Layne dude, he is just one of many people Maynard was around and friends with who influenced his lyrics for the concept album. He absolutely not the sole inspiration, Maynard has talked multiple times about the album and the concept and inspiration and Layne absolutely was not the sole inspiration.
@@puppetmaster8551 Wrong. And I didn't say the whole album but it's the entire concept of the album, which is like 8 songs. "It's the internet, let's argue with some dude about nothing."
Lyric videos that can’t get the lyrics correct are the bane of my existence. Seriously get it 100% right or don’t bother 😡
Maynard is everything 🖤 Check out Puscifer: Rev 22:20, Bullet Train to Iowa, Apocalyptical, ahhhhhhhhhh! Sooooo many amazing songs! The mind of Maynard is like no other 🖤🖤🖤
Best of Maynard work was in this band. Greatest band of all time.
This is a song about my relationship with pizza. It’s like “why are you still eating me? Such a mess I don’t wanna watch you”… sad af
A Perfect Circle - Orestes
I would suggest (Remedy) by Puscifer. It's other project band that Maynard is involved in.
Good music good live band
Great song.. I wish you would have dug into the lyrics though
It's just Maynard being a cold, indifferent bastard.
You are a lucky couple ...I would love to do this same type of thing with my wife but she is wayyy to shy 💪👏👏👏 well done
Lex is the channel dude :)
Mer de Noms is one of the best albums ever
Maynard says each project (Tool, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer) is a different conversation.
I'm half way through and my heart sunk! The beauty that Brad guessed and Lexi knew that was Maynard was soooo beautiful makes me at a weird peace idk it was pretty peaceful! THANKS GUYS
Tool, perfect circle, puscifer represent the mind, heart, and genitals per Maynard.
So for listeners, the best way to think about time signatures is relative to musical "phrases". It shows up on sheet music as things like 3/4, 4/4, 6/8, or if you're Tool playing "Pneuma", 33/16. Unless you're actually playing it, the second number of the fraction isn't that important. (Honestly, none of it is that important unless you want it to be.)
Most pop/rock/radio music is in 4/4 time, which means there's four beats (the first "4") per measure (the second "4"). In this particular song, you can hear it in the verses. Oftentimes, like in this song, even though it's counted as four beats, the phrase is actually eight beats long, but that's pretty normal.
When it moves to the chorus, it switches to 6/8. It could be written as 3/8 or 6/4, but I'm going with 6/8, since it's the most common in this instance. What's important is that the phrase is six beats long. Also, the actual tempo stays the same, which makes the transition smooth.
Music that revolves around intervals of 3, 6, or even 12 is pretty common, but not as common as 4 or 8. Another one that pops up more than you'd think is 5/4, which the original _Mission: Impossible_ theme song is written in, as well as the _Halloween_ theme and "Animals" by Muse. Even Taylor Swift has a couple songs in 5/4.
3Libras live on the Tonight Show is Maynard at his finest.
Love this song
It's not super heavy but I think Brad might dig "The Noose" and it's beat
There is a live version they did on the Jay Leno late show and it's really good, especially Maynards screams at the end
I remember that, made it a point to watch that night👍👍
Check out their ‘live from red rocks’ concert. Unbelievable.
Love all the 3 lbras songs and this does sound like the from tool ya know Maynard is the best fuking musician
I have never watched these guys before. I love apc and I really feel like Lex got it. She felt them and that's what this band do, they connect with you.
This song is about a family member watching a loved one hooked on drugs knowing the reality they will find that loved one dead from an overdose
“The Noose” from the perfect circle. Get mesmerized. React to it with deepness.
Do any of these lyric videos ever get the lyrics right? It's not "Put it on a faultline" it's "You're pounding on a fault line. The people who makes these vids could at least look up the lyrics before they make the vid.
My favorite song! I remember saying the same things to my kid's dad.
Totally totally awesome song! Major kudos to the one who recommended this to them!
Brad didn't have a choice but to agree about "feeling it, because you felt it". Momma didn't raise a fool - good recovery Brad..... respect!
love your reactions. hugs from Brasil
This past two days of reactions 👌excellent song choices
I love that Lex loved the sweeping guitar which you'll also find in Judith. It's such a Billy Howerdel thing. "Blue" (the remix version on their Amotion album) is another a trippy vibe that you'd be into but both of you would be surprised that it's a Perfect Circle song.
I constantly listen to this song & 3 libras. Great pick
Lex's Maynard is perfectly hilarious, the nuance 👌
This is my favorite song by a perfect circle
This whole album well all there albums are play worthy all the way through not one let down
This is my favorite A perfect circle song
PASSIVE - a perfect circle.
Passive by Tapeworm, redone by A Perfect Circle.
A Perfect circle is one of my favorites, this is the first time checking your channel. Don't disappoint me
I love how brad basically is never sure about anything semi heavy
I like apc better than tool
I'm with you!
as per usual with maynard, incredible lyric writing
Perfect Circle is a supergroup.
lyrical genius.
It is about a Narcisistic person
Please react to Korn - Good God!
Lex grooves and Brad contemplates but you both are in the space of MJK and I love watching y’all.
Keep going.
Epic Album ❤️💯😎
My crew saw this album tour in Boca Raton. It rained the whole time. Couldn't even light a joint. Best show we ever went to.
Feelin the feelin 🤘
I don't know if anyone else mentioned this, but unfortunately, some of the lyrics in this video are off from what the album lyrics that came with the CD say. It's minor, but at 1:00 instead of saying "I don't want to watch you" The lyrics are actually listed as "Why would I want to watch you?". This has happened a few times in other videos, and I thought I would mention it, so that you may trust your ears more than your eyes.
Yeah they picked the lyric video with screw ups everywhere.
this album "the 13th step" is lyrically about different forms of and situations relating to addictions and dependence... as in the album is the 13th step after a 12 step recovery program.
Erm I guess the dude didn’t like it 😂 I loooooove this song. Particularly the bit where Maynard sings “they were right about you” x 2… perfection. The whole track could have been that on repeat
My favorite song to drive to when I'm in a hurry
Watch the live version of this song from red rocks. It’s bad ass
I feel you feelin it, YOU FEEL ME
Please listen to 50 Million Year Trip by Kyuss. Josh Homme’s band before QOTSA. Cheers.
As much as I love this original version, I think I like the Resident Renholder Mix version from the movie Resident Evil: Apocalypse even more.
Loved y'all's react as usual. As far as that rhythmic feel, it's in sixes, so it's kind of a ONE 2 3 TWO 2 3 ONE 2 3 TWO 2 3 feel, like swaying back and forth or a waltz.
There is a section at some point where they add two extra beats and now suddenly it's in straight 8, which feels more normal, but then it switches right back to the sixes but at least there aren't any oddball time signatures like in prog rock or jazz; it's pretty standard stuff, but it's rhythmically really interesting.
This whole album is 🔥 y'all would get a kick out of the official video, Maynard has a way of storytelling and his videos are always over the top! He also plays multiple characters in some of them.
I've heard this before, but didn't know its name or who it's by. Thanks👍
Highway Star/Deep Purple
Monster/Skillett
Pillow Talk /Voodoo Sioux
the lyrics on the video are absolute s**t.... the actual lyrics are:
Help me if you can
It's just that this
Is not the way I'm wired, so
Could you please
Help me understand why
You've given in to all these
Reckless dark desires, you're
Lying to yourself again
Suicidal imbecile
Think about it, you're pounding on a fault line
What'll it take to get it through to you precious
I'm over this, why do you wanna throw it away like this?
Such a mess, why would I want to watch you?
Disconnect and self destruct one bullet at a time
What's your rush now?
Everyone will have his day to die
Medicated, drama queen
Picture perfect, numb belligerence
Narcissistic drama queen
Craving fame and all its decadence
Lying through your teeth again
Suicidal imbecile
Think about it, you're pounding on a fault line
What'll it take to get it through to you, precious?
Go with this, why do you wanna throw it away like this?
Such a mess, why would I wanna watch you
Disconnect and self destruct one bullet at a time
What's your rush now
Everyone will have his day to die
They were right about you
They were right about you
Lying to my face again
Suicidal imbecile
Think about it, you're pounding on the fault line
What'll it take to get it through to you, precious?
I'm over this, why do you wanna throw it away like this
Such a mess
Over this, over this
Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet at a time
What's your hurry, everyone will have his day to die
If you choose to pull the trigger, should your drama prove sincere
Do it somewhere far away from here
Love me some Perfect Circle/Tool
Y'all should react to Feel Something by Illeuim, Excision, and I Prevail!

Another Maynard group is Puscifer listen to Bedlamite its very good. most of Puscifer is very good.
think about it put it on the fault line? wtf?!
its "think about it, you're pounding on a fault line".... it's funny how people make lyrics videos and don't know the lyrics, wasnt' even paying attention to the rest because i know the music pretty well, there are probably other mistakes there, this one was pretty big
Don't forget to check out Puscifer also Maynard James Kenan band.
The Remedy by puscifer.....please
Please check out "Right In Two" by TOOL :) very deep lyrics!
