      Roughly as profitable. And safer. At least on the street you are allowed to carry protection. It's far more profitable to panhandle than work full time in 2022 for minimum wage, or anywhere approximate, but most homeless people don't panhandle. At least not for more than food and booze.

      @dishonoredundead Год назад +23

      He's being arrested for existing in the only spot he can panhandle. Which is like arresting someone for trespassing in the only waterhole in the Sierra. I know they make it look like he's a prolific criminal for propaganda, but he's just a poor person. You can shame him for not working, bad, bad consumer! Work for boss, earn 6 dollars an hour and THEN go sleep on the street! But if every time he tries to earn enough to get a bus ticket, then you arrest him and take that ticket, what else do you expect him to do? The whole point is they want him gone, but wont let him leave. Like all homeless people they created a land no one can exist in while being poor, but can't earn a living, then they arrest them and expect it to change. They are just propaganda, your leaders know they will never escape the system they implemented, they are just there as a scarecrow for the low income workers to see so they keep slaving away to not become like him. Sure, you can't afford a home, family, even food, and have no future either, but at least you work 10 hours a day, that means you aren't as shameful as 'them'.

It is frustrating, but as of yet, there is no effective solution for the “frequent fliers” with repeated non-violent petty crimes.
