8 Things Movement Teachers Should Never Forget

  • Being, or becoming a movement teacher of any kind, is a huge responsibility. Ido Portal popularized this field - the paradoxical specialization as a movement generalist - over a decade ago. He set a great example for many of us to follow. But if we want to take movement to the mainstream, the people who need it the most, (and not in some watered down GMB/AnimalFlow/Movenat type of way) we need to go further. I’ve learned a lot of things since I started training with Ido Portal. I’ve learned a hell of a lot more than than that from my years of teaching, from my students and from my own mistakes. In this video, I lay out for you guys some valuable tips to get you going in the right direction.
THIS IS NOT AN EXHAUSTIVE LIST. Just the tip of the iceberg. Let me know in the comments: What are the most important things you’ve learned as a teacher?
    Lesson Overview:
    1. You only need 2 things to be a teacher: Knowledge & Passion
    2. Lead from the front
    3. Be GOOD
    4. Money comes later
    5. Your personal experience IS NOT ENOUGH
    6. There is no perfect method
    7. Focus on the people
    8. Create good content

Can you recommend other resources for aspiring coaches? Been binging all your content and want more. I don’t think there is anything like what you do near me. So I’m looking for something online.

Do you coach ? Price ? I did 2 Ido seminars few yeaes back and started getting coached by them but the volume was to high and they wouldn't listen. All my injuries came back within the 3 months i trained with them. There was no space for me do to my thing or come with insight to how my body works... I've been away and i noticed i miss my movement training. Dunno if my old injuries will be a problem to start again. I just dont want to get injured again. 😅

Why Posting on yt Not insta? Great Video

    • @BrenTeachesMovement

Thanks! A number of reasons, but in short, I have strong evidence to believe that RUclips is a much better platform to grow an audience on. so much so that there are a number of videos like this one that I've put a ton of work into and never got around to posting on ig. When I stop posting on ig, I used to start losing followers after a few days, yet on YT, each video continues getting views and total audience growing even years after posting a video. also RUclips seems to get real engagement and intelligent comments from real people, where ig there's much less of that. YT is so much better than ig, at least for me (probably it can be different if you're a supermodel, olympic level athlete, or especially both), that the best thing I've done to grow my ig audience has been posting on RUclips lol.

Some BS that a pushup technique was an error that would kill your gains and joints or something like that.

Give this two years and this vid will be able 75k. Above average instruction and thought, above average quality and production(@2.7rn for retrospect)
