Thank you so much for starting to post again. The last one I saw was a year ago and I know i and I’m sure the rest of the community benefit greatly from your wisdom and teachings. Thank you so much again
Went for an easy walk to day. Practiced precision jumping and control ,jumping and running on all rocks allong the path. Never stop playing. Looking forward to to see Ido's take on this unofficial practice as he says, finally some new videos.
a while ago you were talking about a paradigm shift regarding movement in our daily life and looking back i think this has been one of your most important lessons to me..in my daily mundane tasks I have started to look for ways how to practice ..when washing my hands i dont lean over with my back to get closer to the sink, instead i bend my knees, engage my glutes and core..whenever i pick up somerhing from the floor i get to a squat..when turning a corner in my hallway i try to do it lightly, swiftly, elegantly, with awareness..i am 37 years old and only now I have realized how limited i was in my understanding of movement...my practice will continue as long as I am alive.. thank you Ido!
AMAZING you are back. I’m 16 and I’ve come across your “Ido portal method” 4 months ago and it’s kinda hard to train myself since you had stopped uploading. As I wanted to see your updated version of training. I’ve been studying your training camps, training connor, and watching your locomotive videos. I’ve been trying to get into parkour m, dancing, soccer, wrestling, boxing, football, and I “specialize ” in basketball. I know that you don’t believe in being a specialist as it leads to long term effects and dosent do any brain training Etc. I’ve bought gymnastics rings and Been using them for a month and have learned to “skin the cat” is what I’ve heard they call it. I’ve just been doing animal movement at my High School football field and trying to learn locomotion. Can’t wait to see your new content Ido.
So happy that your recent podcast interview with Dr. Andrew Huberman has shaken the snow globe a little bit. I know it can feel like the same things over and over but your work and daily teachings can help so many. I started following you years ago when I watched that intense documentary from London Real. Keep on keeping on.
Really good to hear from you again, Ido. This sounds like an evolution of what I once heard you say "training is everything you do, and everything you don't do". Thank you.
So incorporating training goals in more loose way in everyday activities & letting body & mind know to apply them not only in the specified regular triggered time but always. This binds training time reactions with normal activity sphere. Nice insight. Bruce Lee was training even while driving - it was more his total devotion & no waste principle but is in line with this.
Just when I thought I was too crazy to be analyzing everything I do or don't do... Here you are making sense on this discussion. Btw brought here by your awesome conversation with Dr. Huberman, more power to you both.
Super interested to see where this goes. For my part I have for the last three years been discovering how to walk and how to stand up straight, which, given that I'm 53, you would think I knew how to do.....but no (very no!) and still figuring it out :) It is being transformational in how I see myself and how the world sees me. I strongly recommend anybody to give it a try, we walk and are upright so much in a day, that there are so many opportunities to improve and every time you do a little better, you are a little better in every way.
There is a shift in paradigm on how you see yourself and your life when you realize that there can be no separation between your training session and your daily life. If you pay enough attention, you can enjoy, improve and play with every little movement, from how to walk to how to turn in the kitchen to close the fridge. You can add some playfulness, and suppleness to it.
Thats why this is called "movement" not "exercise". Exercise is just a small area of what movement is all about. Thats a good statement, we are always on the move while we are alive and living. So why not incorporate practice while these unnoficial occasions? Glad to see you back Ido, thanks for the knowledge
Oh I love that approach! I am not much into a fitness regime, but I looooooovvveeee to move 💕 and I know I need to find more variation. I remember that I was very playful and inventive as a child with walking and climbing. Would be great to get back into that kind of unoffical practice. Sitting variation would be great since desk work is asked so much of us and I find it quiete traumatising and witness my body suffering..
Hi Ido, my first exposure to you has been through the Huberman Lab, only last week. I loved that conversation and the ideas expressed but it was not tangible enough for me. Now this teaser has come to me in my RUclips and I am excited to learn more about movement with playfulness and lightness and hidden in public view....can't wait for more....
Meanwhile I climb stairs while 99% take the escelators .....while waiting for the train I stand one leged looking at the black sky or just around me. ......hanging on the handrails in the train from one stop to the next trying to stand freely in the public transportation is also an interesting experience. I try to mount my feet to the ground doing so while I also need to be flexible somehow The passiv hang was what brought my attention to you. Thank you for that and the eye opener for integrating stuff into my daily life.
Hi ido I really like the idea of “postures” you talked about on the huberman podcast. It is a perfect way of describing the mental and emotional prisons we find ourselves. But these postures are so subtle, and personal it is so easy to miss. But when we miss it we can’t be free of it. You should discuss this more very interesting!
thank you for speaking about this, i often tried to explain that concept to people but i don't feel like i can make people understand it. Looking forward to hear your thoughts on it. Personally my favorite unofficial practice is going through doors, going through doors can be interesting depending on the lock mechanism and how dynamic you wanna go through it. But that might just be me haha.
..the presence of God is closer to us than our own breathing, and this has always been true. If we try to visualize something closer than our own breathing, we shall understand that actually the very presence of God is where we are. The contemplative life by Joel Goldsmith
This is very much in line with old martial arts philosophy. If death could come at any time then you cannot be a warrior only when you are prepared. you could not just train to be a warrior you had to become one. at all times
You seem to be the first one out there to actually state these two types of practises. Could you explain a bit further on what it means with unofficial practise. And also I am looking forward to those shorts with examples of this.
It's the type of movements that you do in your everyday life that aren't planned as "workouts". Like taking the stairs instead of elavators, sitting down in a squatted position when watching TV, doing a few band pull aparts in the morning etc. Hes talking about the importance of incorporating these type of activities. Hes going to give us examples in the upcoming weeks.
'integrating practice' into everyday life is a perennial issue.....step 1 is bringing something into conscious awareness in order to get an optimal grip on some aspect of our experience. If the practice turns out to be beneficial to our overall wellbeing/survival/evolution - how do we relegate that 'practice' back into automaticity?
When Ido speaks, I listen.
The man is back! Good to see you putting educational content out there again, Ido.
Did you catch Ido on Andrew Huberman’s podcast? He seems different in some sort of way.
Keep up the good work bren

Glad to have you back (on youtube) Ido.
I love the Wisdom. It can be difficult to know how to continue practicing, or to remind yourself that you are still practicing when your dogma changes

Humans -> Movers -> Specialist
The unofficial practice is the human layer, to play to explore to be alive.

Hello, I'm happy to see you upload some interesting information. I'll defintely try to test and incorporate these unofficial practises, Cheers
Looking forward to it!

Here he is
Greasing the groove of life

Obrigado mestre!! Entusiasmado em aprender mais e mais!
This is a great insight! I'm trying to be more aware and playful in my walking and it's working wonders in fixing my gait!
ou yeah, staying tuned. thank you!
May you always be happy 🌷
beautiful eyes and soul; to watch is to learn.
Saw you on Andrew Huberman's podcast. Very interesting and inspiring ideas man!
Totally agree, is practicing to bringing body awareness (mindfulness) into daily life...
As I understand, the official practice is the ego(the show that we put on for others)while the unofficial practice is what we do behind the scenes.
I hope we get to see more content from you on youtube.

He's baaaaaaack
Thank you.
It is alot more harder to practice unofficial!
I believe that the unofficial practice requires a moderate obsessive mind.

My coach talks of this all the time
Obrigada!
It's easy to get lean and muscular but changing posture is a hole new world
For me it's fun little challenges like putting on my socks and shoes while maintaining a verticle spine.
We don’t do movement , we are movement
Consciousness!!
To whoever is struggling with posture know that your unofficial practice is your posture
Amazing
bro i need tutorials. WE need them ido!!
Definitely on posture, i think this issue plagues most of us, especially me, so any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated 👊🏾

All of us who are living are also practicing. But how and what are we practicing? Thank you Ido!

How do you sit when you watch a movie? and want to be confortable... chair, bed, sofa, etc...

Did conor stop training with you? Will you link up together in the future?
Yes
