    Beautiful words, Ido. I have seen this change in my self from the person who moves from interest to interest into a person that understands that interest is not what I am interested in. Practicing gives me that stability when the shit hits the fan. Always important to remind myself of this and continually challenge it. Thank you ❤

    If I understand what you say, it reminds me of this thought from Emerson: 'We pass for what we are. Character teaches above our wills. Men imagine that they communicate thier virtue or vice by overt actions, and do not see that virtue or vice emit a breath every moment....One tendency unites them all. The voyage of the best ship is a zig zag line of a hundred tacks. See the line from a sufficient distance and it straightens itslef to the average tendency.'

    Motivation comes after the action; sometimes, overcoming the brain's resistance takes more effort. Your brain practices the conservation of energy, and you have to firmly let your brain know that is what you want to expend energy on. Once it knows, it releases a rush of energy, giving you that motivated feeling.

      I totally agree with that, as I've had many days where I didn't feel like doing anything. But once I actually, physically, do it, I am charged up, and never regret the decision to just do it. On the other side of that, if you have a passion for something, that passion drives you both physically and mentally. I feel like motivation is the lack of passion for what it is you want to do. Passion is not driven by the need to be motivated. Passion just drives you to do it without effort, if that makes any sense. I've experience both and by far if passion is present, it is very easy to just do something. Motivation suggests the need for a nudge or push to do something.

    In 2014, something happened when I came across the phrase "there is no bad movement" and only then did the space of possibilities open up for me to move in any situation at any time and anywhere. As if I realized in one moment that I can move how, when and how much I want. It was always there, amazing.
    When I realized this, the energy store in me also jumped in hundreds of contracts and the rest is history

    Thx for this inspiration Mr.Portal! Is that inner essence of us, our most individual part? Is it our soul? This reminds me of Bruce Lee who said in an interview, that it is really hard to express oneself as a human being. Did he mean the same - the inner practitioner - as you, and that it is hard to express exactly that!? Yourself? Could this be our journey, our quest in life: to come out of outer yourself, like a snail 🐌 comes out of it‘s house? All the Best!

    • @MarcoLevati
      @MarcoLevati Год назад

      some thoughts here, interesting, but I don't get what you are saying. Give it another try for me please?

    • @felixdorn21
      @felixdorn21 Год назад +1

      @@MarcoLevati I have been thinking about this, and it is also not easy to understand for myself, but my conclusion is: „God is (all) Movement!“ I try to explain: The practitioner is the Self filled with Awareness, who becomes a seeker. A seeker for true and real expression and or truth. The true self seeks for fulfillment in true expression of itself! You could also call this „the inner fire“ - the wild living and moving force (God) that drives us and who’s enemy is the Non-Movement or Death! So the only way to reach this fulfillment or you may call it enlightment can happen through movement. Because where is no movement there is only Death. Life means movement. Our Quest in life is therefore to reach the godlike level of expression through or in movement which reveals our true holy inner self. That’s what I think Bruce Lee was speaking about. That part which is really you, is the spark of god which shines deep within all of us free from fear. To express that, you really need to feel it for yourself first. See yourself! Second step is to express it for real with your own movement. God is no person, god is all that moves within itself eternally. Through time and space - movement.

    • @MarcoLevati
      @MarcoLevati Год назад

      @@felixdorn21 thx. And how do you define movement or god? What relationship do you see with the push-ups and spinal waves?

  • @MarcoLevati
    @MarcoLevati Год назад

    No matter what, be it anyway. In one word, commitment. But the next question is: commit to what? To movement? then what is movement?
    For me, Marco, movement is being on a mission with a role with other people, so they can raise their bar. And the mission should be something in line with the principle of life: honesty, fairness, loyality, virtu, etc..

    I'm wondering how being a practitioner relates to having interest in different things? What is not accepted as part of ones life as a practitioner? And I wonder what Ido sees himself being a practitioner of? Is he only a practitioner of movement or does he see himself as other things as well?
    Regarding the idea that a practitioner doesn't loose the practice when shit hits the fan: what excactly does this look like in real life? Let's take being a practitioner of movement as an example. When a practitioner of movement becomes sick and gets a cold, what do they do? You could say they can find a way to move even when they are sick, but they are also human and might simply need to rest. Where is the line between being true to yourself as a practitioner, or being in denial of your immediate needs?
    Also: if your constant as a practitioner is movement itself, then I guess you could do jiu jitsu one day and then do ballet the other day without it being a problem that you are jumping from thing to thing? Because you are moving, following your life as practitioner, and feeding into your immediate interests at the same time.
    I guess my question really is: Do you do the same form of praciting when you are sick or demotivated as when you are healthy or motivated, or do do you allow your current state of being to influence your practice?

    • @lukamartin6590
      @lukamartin6590 Год назад

      I think exactly the same. I always feel like yes I guess there has to be some sort of continuity in my practice, but then at the same time if my perspective is movement, I can do so many different things that will all be "classified" as movement. It's like I guess you need both. But then also when are we "allowed" to change a practice for another one? So many questions

    You just made one „mistake“ and fell back into the process of identification. 3:31 If there is no „self“, absolutely speaking (because a „self“ neither exists nor doesn’t exist), then who or what watches the bird in the sky? The „observing“ is just another thought which is so quick, we don’t recognize it as a thought and then think „we“ can watch a thought. But the „I“ or „self“ is nothing but a thought, nothing but the process of identification. At every single moment. Discriminating between me, you, this and that. Which is absolutely necessary but when you start the video with „a stable platform called ‚me’ doesn’t really exist“ and then continue to fall into the trap of observing, you might want to meditate on that, too.
